Unfortunately my friend and I had a very bad experience at Agelgil today. We got seated immediately and served water, but the menus had the Ethiopian dish names with little or no descriptions. When we asked the waitress what was the vegetable of the day, she did not give us an answer. Finally she said«salad.» Okayyy… She did not ask what we wanted to drink; long after our orders were filed, my friend asked for coffee. She was really tired and looking forward to Ethiopian coffee. «No coffee!» the server said, and walked away. Another server we sought out said they were too busy with the Seahawk-watching crowd to make coffee. We waited almost 45 minutes to be served and considered walking out to get food across the street. When our meals arrived they were switched around. The waitress didn’t bother asking how spicy(menu said we could customize this) so apparently I got 5-Star Spicy. Burned my tongue, etc. Even the scant salad was overspiced! The lamb tib or whatever it was looked like an injera bread burrito; bread wrapped in bread with minute amounts of spicy meat sauce inside. My friend and I had already decided not to tip when she summoned for the check. The waitress brought it to her and said, «My brother likes you.» Oh really? Not ever going back there. Ever. Got the feeling we were ignored because of our race. Hate to say it but that is the impression we got.

We stopped for a quick lunch. No experience with Ethiopian food. Ordered the vegetable combo. The service was great, and the food even better. Seven different vegetable preparations Appeared to be a family-run business. Will go back in a nano-second.

Food was great. Spices were nuanced and varied. Each dish had a unique flavor profile. Large meat combo with veggies was enough for three people. Service was excellent. I will be eating here again.

The food is just ok, wunder bar has way better Ethiopian food, especially the asa goulash, service was really late. They had only one waitress, who kept forgetting whatever we ordered, There was also a Lil girl who was practicing piano lessons over n over again, which totally messed up the ambience

This place got recently renovated, renamed, and under new ownership. I had not yet tried the food, so we went for dinner to give it a try. We were mildly disappointed with the veggie combo, as the flavor of most dishes were rather bland. The injera did not seem fresh, so that also impacted our enjoyment. The meat dishes were decent, with the lamb tibs being the best. Overall, the flavor was ok. Maybe it was not their best night, so we will probably give them another try. I’d say do go to Agelgil.

Overpriced, mediocre Ethiopian food… Not Recommended… With so many other good options in the area, there are 2 other Ethiopian restaurants within ½ a block, and probably a dozen in the neighborhood, why eat here??? I eat Ethiopian all the time and have rarely been so disappointed… give it a miss…

I came to this restaurant late Sunday night with a good friend of mine, all I could hear was mind blowing Ethiopian live piano music, I was so relax and amazed by the place, I felt like I was in Addis Ababa for a second. Shiro came out bubbling hot with a stuffed jalapeño pepper and the Lamb tibs was very tender, one other thing was; I LOVE how i could see the whole fresh rosemary on top of my dish. Nicely seasoned with Other Ethiopian spices, herbs and butter. Yum! it also came with a compliantly salad. We also had desert, homemade VEGAN baklava & Ethiopian spiced tea. Very nice place.
