This is my son’s favorite toy store and one he often asks to go to. He enjoys the awesome selection, and prices are affordable for a kid on a small allowance. He gets to learn about the value of his earnings, appreciating his toys and taking good care of them. The owners are really caring and kind to kids and I love how well they take care of the toys!

As a general toy nerd, artist and nearby resident, it’s now become a habit of mine to regularly drop by 99 Monkeys and see what’s new. I’ve found gifts for friends, things to finish off various art projects, and completely refreshed my own desk toys. The Monkey Packs are a personal fave. I don’t think I can get out of the store without one.

What a find! My friend has told me about this place for a good year now, and I finally made a trek there today. I was a little hesitant, wondering if they toys would be as properly cleaned as my friend had suggested and if there would be a good selection, seeing as this is a used toy store. Not only were the toys cleaned and nicely(and eco-friendly!) repackaged, but there were more items available(I was hunting for stuff for my 1 year old) than I could buy! I’ve vowed to haul my hubs and child in with me in the next week or so, so we can take our time and really dig into the great inventory they have. Bravo, 99 Monkeys, for offering a great selection of used and vintage toys at great prices! I’ll definitely be back many, many times.

I happened upon 99 Monkeys while walking in the neighborhood. They have just reopened and have a pretty good stock of gently used toys that have been cleaned and checked against the federal recall list. It seems like their prices are pretty reasonable, just about the same as the thrift stores. They also buy your used toys. The selection includes toys for a variety of age groups. I intended just to browse but found an octopus beanie baby for my six-month-old daughter for $ 3. I also had a nice chat with the owner, Alex. She is really open and friendly, and she seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us and welcoming us to her fun shop. She is passionate about parenting and it’s nice to know that we are supporting a local family business. Kids are definitely welcome to play in the space; there is a big chalkboard wall and unpackaged toys that are for playing. We will definitely return when we want a new toy, have some to sell or are looking for a gift.

Last holiday season(2011) I was shopping for a few families for the annual Adopt a Family through the Salvation Army and got some really good toys for the families in need. The toys were almost like new and at a great price. It allowed me to get more for the families than if I went to a toys r us or something. Haven’t used the drop in, as I’m not a parent, if it’s anything like the toys I’m sure it’s excellent!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE99 Monkeys and Green Bananas(connected to 99 Monkeys). 99 Monkeys has great CLEAN used toys for sale at reasonable prices and Green Bananas is a child drop off arts and crafts day care. My daughter loves going and looking at all the toys and then going in and working on lil projects while I run to the store with my 10 month old or hang out in the front of the store and play with my 10 month old(they have toys and seating available to play with) while my 2 and a half year old is painting. I use Green Bananas when its raining and we’re tired of being in the house or when I need to run some errands or lets face it a break! The girls that work in the store and the drop off are so kind. I trust all the people that work here to take care of my child while I’m away. 2 thumbs up from a local mom!
