This is a gem we found on the way to Big Sur. Thanks to Unilocal we found this unassuming place in a strip mall and its name was enough to intrigue. Great menu, gluten free waffles and pancakes! And customizable options make this an amazing all day breakfast spot. I had the GF waffle with fresh fruit and my partner had the veggie omelet. Both were delicious and we also appreciated that the fruit was actually fresh, including sweet raspberries, blueberries and bananas. Our server Rob was so attentive and genuine too. Well done Breakfast Club, even without Molly Ringwald ;)

I had chicken and waffles… the chicken was over cooked dry. like if it was leftover from yesterday and re-fried. My husband had the omelette he said he had better. My daughter had the Mickey Mouse pancakes. I was very disappointed. And the price was way too much.

Food so unbelievably bland. Service very attentive to everyone else but us. of course that’s what happens to POC in a very WHITE establishment. Watched staff check on everyone but our table. I honestly don’t know how someone can mess up breakfast but this was it.

Parking is terrible, be prepared to do some trolling for a spot, but it’s worth it. It’s like every other person who walks through the door is an old friend of someone on the staff. This seems to be where the locals eat and once you taste the food you’ll know why. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but the food and the staff are great. We had eggs benny and french toast foster. Both were excellent. The eggs were perfectly poached. The bananas were nicely caramelized. Yum yum. Bonus points for an American diner — the water was boiling for the tea and came in insulated pots! We’ll go back if we’re ever in town again. A hidden gem.

Been here 26 years and counting, stuck in the corner of a strip mall off Fremont Blvd in Seaside. This place is a favorite of locals and does a brisk brekkie biz. We came at 9:00am on a weekday and there were 5 waitresses, 3 busboys, several cooks, all quickly serving families, couples, friends, of all backgrounds. Portions are huge! I could eat half of my Joe’s scramble. Prices are a little higher, but food is good and service good and fast. They also have a small bar and TV off to the side. Check it out!

PARKING: so parking is kinda packed here. It’s like you have to be lucky to find a parking spot SERVICE: u seat yourself. Kinda felt ignored. FOOD: my omelet was pretty tasty(sorry, forgot which omelet). My bf’s chicken and waffles, however. the chicken was too fried and not tender at all. But waffles were good(how can u go wrong with waffles?) I would recommend this place on a weekday or a day when there aren’t crowded.

We selected The Breakfast Club to eat breakfast on Saturday morning based solely off their Unilocal reviews and we weren’t disappointed. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, located in a little strip center on the Northeast corner of Fremont and Kimball Avenue we would have driven right past it if we hadn’t been using the direction function on Unilocal to guide us here. There was a line of people waiting outside, which was a reassuring sign. They’re obviously used to this because they had a little table with a coffee pot and mugs sitting on the sidewalk next to the front door for people to enjoy while they waited. That was a nice touch! We were seated surprisingly quickly and the waitress was very attentive taking our drink orders quickly. No sooner had she walked away when a second person asked us if we’d had our drink orders taken yet. I ordered the Chili Verde, Pork, and Jack Omelette which comes topped with green avocado slices and white sour cream — very colorful. I had my choice of hash browns or home fries(I chose home fries — duh) and toast or biscuits and gravy(biscuits and gravy — double duh). The omelette was as pretty as it was tasty, with gooey melty cheese and ender chunks of pork. Who could resist that? Not me. I loved loved loved my omelette and the home fries were tasty and not greasy. Winner winner chicken dinner. It was so much food that I didn’t even need the biscuits and gravy. If I’m being completely honest, the gravy wasn’t my favorite(I’m super spoiled when it comes to sausage gravy) but it wasn’t bad and the biscuit was fresh and hot. One of my friends ordered the fruit cup as her side, which you can substitute for the home fries for an extra $ 1.95. It was probably the prettiest fruit cup I’ve ever seen in a restaurant featuring fresh and beautiful raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. We’re talking picture perfect as if it had been prepared by a food photographer for a glassy magazine ad. She said it was as tasty as it was pretty. The food wasn’t cheap, but then this is Monterey and it came in very generous portions and was pretty tasty. I would definitely eat here again on my next visit to Monterey.

The love of of my life and I are currently on a mini vacation out here at Monterey, California. We decided to stop here at the breakfast club to try their food. I thought this place was absolutely delicious and the service was quick and very friendly . Our waiter James was very attentive and did an excellent job in making sure we were satisfied. We ended up ordering the crab cake Benedict and the waffle special. The crab cake Benedict was absolutely delicious. It was the first time I I had the crab cake and it was so dam rich and decadent. The crab cake was fried in a way where it retained a crispy texture the whole time. I ordered the waffle special with added whip cream and nuts. The waffle special came with the choice of bacon or sausages and eggs. I got it with 2 sausages which came accompanied with 2 sunny side up eggs. The waffles were absolutely delicious. If there was one thing I would change about the waffle. I would make it crispier and more fluffy. But aside from that, the food was very delicious. The best part of this experience was being with my baby and being able to enjoy good food with my love. She is my absolute world, my all, my soul mate, my passion, my happiness and my purpose in life.

The breakfast club is a little family owned joint where the service is friendly and the food is delicious. My man and I came to this place around noon time on a Sunday afternoon, and we had to put our name on the wait list when we first arrived. Fortunately, they seated us within 5 minutes upon arrival. James was quick to take our order, and he checked up on us regularly throughout our entire meal. I even asked for his opinion between whether or not I should order the Nova Scotia Benedict(smoked salmon with spinach) or the crab cake bendict with avocado, and he told me with honesty that he hasn’t tried either since he doesn’t like hollandaise sauce. But he still went out of his way to ask other employees what their recommendation was. I ended up choosing the crab cake Benedict, and it was delicious!!! Now let’s get to the food! The crab cake stayed crispy even when drenched in the poached egg yolk. I thoroughly enjoyed the crispy hash browns that accommodated the meal. I highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the Monterey/seaside area.

My husband and I have always noticed this place when we go to Carl’s Jr. that’s in the same parking lot. One Sunday morning, we decided we would try this place out, since there is always a long line waiting to be seated, «so it must be good,» we thought to ourselves. If you can avoid the morning rushes, I advise for you to do so, but it’s not that bad. Even though it may get busy inside, the waiters are still very attentive and offer good service. We have gone both when it was very busy and not busy at all. Both were very positive experiences. The food is GREAT. I actually prefer their food more than IHOP or First Awakenings, and I love the unlimited coffee. Cheese blintz are my favorite and always get it when I go here, no matter what. Definitely a great place to go to for breakfast, and I want to try out their lunch items one day. We love this place!

Perfect classic brunch menu with an openness for fun food combos. I had their gluten/soy free pancakes and they were delicious. Loved their flexibility in terms of gluten free menu items. Ordered apple juice as usual and they do it right with Simply Apple. Coffee was drinkable and decent. Also they made it fun by bringing R2D2 creamer. Server was very accommodating with answering my allergy questions and went so far as to photograph the ingredients list on her phone and show it to me. All in all — happy with this place and coming back! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s a great option for a greasy spoon breakfast.

Delicious food & great service. The place gets packed on the weekends so be prepared for a wait. There’s a sign in sheet outside the front door & complimentary coffee too. The service is fast so the wait goes by fairly quickly. My go-to is the burger & club sandwich. But, steaks to eggs benedict everything is good. The menu has so many great options! This is one of my favorite brunch spots to go when I’m in town. Their breakfast menu has a variety of food choices — omelettes, eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, pancakes, etc. Each of these choices have even more choices to order from. For example, you can choose regular French Toast, Banana Nut French Toast, Banana Foster French Toast, French Toast Special with fruit, Cinnamon Roll French Toast, etc. So many choices within choices. They recently expanded into the neighboring space with a bar & more tables. Their service is always outstanding! The staff is very attentive. Parking in the strip mall parking lot can be a challenge, I usually park in the lot just to the right side of the restaurant. It’s nice to start your day with a great breakfast. I will be back!

Friendly, attentive, and helpful staff. Clean, and well maintained breakfast spot. Came here for a quick breakfast and was very pleased with my experience. I especially enjoyed talking to the staff here. I ordered a breakfast combination called the Traveler and found it very delicious, prepared with care and love, and a little on the JUMBO size. Prices very reasonable and abundant parking in a shared private lot. I plan on being a regular. I hear this place gets busy on the weekends. Thank you very much and nice talking to you today appreciate the hospitality.

My boyfriend lives in LA and has been talking about this place forever. We finally went one weekend and it was just as good as he raved about. We have a similar place back in our hometown Vallejo that he compared it to, saying that it was better. I have to say he was right! The menu has so many great options! I got the chili verde & pork omelet and it was bomb! Portions are very big here, so I had to take the rest of mine to-go. I’ll definitely be coming back to try their S.O.S! Ground beef & spicy gravy over biscuits yummm!

Little over priced for the quality of food yet that was to be expected. It’s Monterey. What I didn’t expect was to be lied to. My GF and I came here this past weekend. Prior to ordering the chicken fried steak I specifically asked the waitress if this was breaded real steak or a breaded hamburger patty. She said. «Oh its a real steak but not like a New York strip.» So I ordered it. My GF ordered the crab cakes benedict. The order came and the disappointment followed soon after. It was indeed a ground beef patty. Not a real steak. I could super easily cut the thing with my spoon. And there was so much gravy that I could barely see that there was a ground beef patty under it. Heck. I first thought it was mashed potatoes. My GF’s dish… even more disappointing. Crab cakes benedict made with… dun, dun, dunnnnnnn… IMITATIONCRAB??? Not kidding :(We are in NorCal. The costal city of Monterey, CA. Just down the coast from San Francisco where they have tons of Dungeness crab, prolly in Monterey waters too but we got the imitation crap. On top of that, the poached eggs were not poached. They were boiled all the way through. Should change the name from crab cakes benedict to crap cakes benedict. We left as sad pandas. Perhaps we should have gone to Denny’s. On a positive note(other than the lie about the chicken fried steak), their staff seems really nice and friendly. I can see why people come here. Not for the food but for a cozy, friendly, nice breakfast.

The Breakfast Club… you mean the classic 80s movie? I imagine people meeting together, pouring out their feelings, and eating brunch(and their feelings). I digress. This is one of my favorite brunch spots to go to with my family. Their breakfast menu has a variety of food choices — omelettes, eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, pancakes, etc. Each of these choices have even more choices to order from. ORDERCEPTION. For example, you can choose regular French Toast, Banana Nut French Toast, Banana Foster French Toast, French Toast Special with fruit, Cinnamon Roll French Toast, etc. SOMANYCHOICESWITHINCHOICES! I usually order the French Toast Special(two eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage). I one up that order by asking for Banana Nut French Toast instead of regular French Toast. Cost is extra, but worth it. Banana, nuts, brown sugar? TREATYOSELF. The service is fast, portion size is huge, and the servers are quite attentive to your needs — asking if you need more coffee/water/napkins/if everything is okay. Friendly staff and a nice local feel. If you’re in the area, join the club and check this place out!

What do I think of when you say Breakfast Club? One hand raised walking out in triumph!(my silly 80’s reference) I will say it is triumphant! During my trip to Monterey, this by far was my favorite breakfast stop. I had this bookmarked before heading this way and was excited to try it out. I even asked the concierge at my hotel. He confirmed it was a great place. We walked in shortly after they opened. Yeah it was early but we were getting an head start back home. The waitress ruled the roost! I don’t think she stood still for one second. She was in constant contact with every table still keeping my coffee cup filled. I ordered their banana nut pancakes. Oh the calories! But I was on vacation so I gave myself a pass. Two larger than life pancakes were placed in front of me. I loved the diced nuts sprinkled generously over the pancakes. They were delightful and so flavorful. I tried my hardest to finish them but had to throw in the towel. This out-of-towner loved The Breakfast Club — the movie and now the restaurant!
