Not if you’re on a diet! I was raised not 30 minutes up the road between Brookshire and Fulshear. We were on our way back to the hill country the day after New Year’s and decided to seek out«local color» for breakfast. After our meal I wanted to move in but I’d weigh 400 lbs! The biscuits are the size of a small hubcap! But you know you’ve found«local color» when you see waitresses hugging their customers and I think we saw 4 people with coffee pots making sure no cup went empty. It’s goose hunting season so we shared our meal with many in camo gear as well as cowboys in with hats, boots and dirt like they’d already been at work for hours. We watched them fill up the lunch buffet and marveled at the sausages, pinto beans, cheese enchiladas and think cut chicken fried steak that must be ribeyes instead of measly cube steak. The rolls and cornbread were pilled higher than the tiny server behind the counter who was already filling her own plate for lunch. This is not where you eat while trying to lose weight because the pies and cakes alone will send you into sugar shock but worth every calorie. This is a great place to take the family, no matter how large! We saw tables of 8 or 10 with loads of kids. There is also counter space for those alone and in a hurry. No one wil go away feeling hungry or unloved in this place!
