The Waverly Salon

Based on a lot of positive reviews, I clearly was with the wrong stylist. I was referred to The Waverly (specifically Ryan) by a coworker, but couldn’t get in with her. Being a new mom, I said it didn’t matter which stylist I got, I just needed to get in! Either way, I accepted the appointment for a basic trim with Jessica. I brought my 5-​week-​old son in with me and she was very curious about him. I understand small talk, but she kept asking about my husband (his name, job, where he’s from, etc.) and then asked my son’s last name. I found this a bit creepy. Even putting that aside, it was the worst haircut I’ve ever received – totally uneven. Very disappointed in this place, especially considering the price. I feel like Great Clips could have done better.

Love this salon! First time going here and Tracey was amazing! My color was perfect! Salon is so modern and incredible customer service! Keep it up!

Walked in after a week of trying to get into any other salons in the area. Unfortunately they were booked for the rest of the day, but I felt good about Waverly so booked for the next day. I was able to meet my stylist, Jessica, then and talk about what I was looking for.
My appointment was quick, comfortable and I left feeling amazing! Jessica remembered what I was wanting and open with what she was doing the whole time. She helped me figure out how to style it further on my own. The attention and consideration from Jessica (and others around) was really nice. I’ll definitely return for upkeep, etc!

I have used Chanel’s service for years. Her staff are wonderful and while they’re very skilled it’s the relationships they build with their clients that make this salon one of the best in my opinion.
I love sitting down with someone who remembers our conversations and genuinely wants to build a personal relationship with you. Plus, how i feel about the way i look is priceless.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I made an appointment for a consultation a week ago on hair extensions. I specifically asked that it be with someone who knew how to do ethnic hair as I am mixed. I get there and the girl looking at my hair basically had no clue what to recommend for me and referred me to another stylist that wasn’t in. So I go to the front desk to rebook a new consultation with the correct person only to call and confirm my appointment and discover it wasn’t even booked. To have the nerve to ask me to come back AGAIN after you screwed me over the first two times and wasted my time isn’t acceptable. Learn how to listen to your clients needs and requests and book appropriately and accurately. I wonder if they’re just typical racist assholes who don’t cater to mixed clientele or anything other than your average Scottsdale industry girl which would explain my poor experiences with them. So glad I didn’t let anyone in this place touch my hair considering they can’t even figure out their appointment book. I would stay far far away from this wannabe high end salon.

I’ve had a tumultuous relationship with salons and stylists in Arizona but the Waverly Salon and Tara have changed all that!
The salon is really spacious and has an elegant desert-​y vibe — not to mention they offer a variety of beverages including beer and wine. But by far the best feature is Tara. Her instincts are on point and I’ve never been less than thrilled when I walk out the door. She’s easy to talk to and it makes the time fly whenever I get balayage or a brazillian blowout. If she ever moves out of state, I’ll have to move there too…

Tara is fabulous! So good you gotta book months in advance.

Tracy did an awesome job correcting my hair color. After leaving disappointed from another salon with chunky highlights, Tracy came to the rescue giving me a natural looking blonde. She’s my new go-​to, I can’t wait to see her again!

Rhea Lynn is the best stylist in the world. Not only does she give the best cuts and colors but she is a ball of energy full of fun stories and the best one-​liners I’ve ever heard. I’ve stolen many of her catch-​phrases.
The salon is beautiful and they always have chocolates and refreshments on hand. Not a necessity but totally a necessity. Amirite?

What a great experience I had with Ryan at the Waverly Salon. I’m a guy that usually goes for the cheap strip mall hair cut. What a difference. I wanted to hide a little gray hair and get an actual hair style /​cut. Ryan hooked me up. I will be returning monthly from now on. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Ryan is just awesome. Took ten years off me. Also, Ryan is one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure to know. Guys, you wont be disappointed making an appointment with her. Thank you Ryan! It was my first time going to the Waverly Salon, and it was by far the best decision I’ve ever made. The place is so chic, and the staff is beyond talented.
Tara is amazingggg! I had a genuine smile when I left because I was so shocked how good my hair looked. She’s super sweet and easy to talk to. I’d definitely recommend her!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Sara! She colored my hair beautifully and gave me a great cut for my fine hair! She did an excellent job styling it and showing me the best products for my hair. The salon is super cool and trendy and they have great refreshments. Fabulous experience!

Tara at the Waverly saved my hair! She is so talented, creative and sweet. She really listens to what you want and gives great professional suggestions and advice. I love my hair every time I go see her! She has made my hair so healthy in the few months I’ve been going there. I’m so glad I found her. The salon in Old Town Scottsdale is so cute, intimate and comfortable. The front desk girls are so nice and they offer you coffee or wine while getting your hair done. I’ve sent a few friends there as well and they love their hair too!

Salon Waverly— I am so excited to write this review!
I’ve been going to Chanele since she worked at Salon Krush! Seeing her open the Waverly and it’s success up to this point has been so so exciting. She is incredibly talented and does an absolute perfect job. I had an awful experience at another salon in old town and was referred to Chanele from a friend. She saved my hair and I haven’t been to anyone else since. She is constantly making recommendations and listens to what you want. She is detail oriented and great with color. I haven’t seen anyone else here but my friend goes to Patty and loves her. My roommate also goes to Ryan and adores her. She’s so sweet, even gave my roomie a make up touch up when she came in from a 12 hour night shift at the hospital the night before.
I know getting in with Chanele can be tough since she’s booked up pretty far in advance but it is DEFINITELY worth the wait!
The salon itself is beautiful, clean and modern. They serve you wine! They also carry great products and I’ve switched to the Pureology shampoo and conditioner and it has really made a difference in the health of my hair. It’s not drying out like it used too and doesn’t need to be trimmed as often.
Go to Salon Waverly, book your appointment now. You will not regret it, I promise.

Tracy is FABULOUS! Being new-​ish to town and after reading the reviews here I decided to try the Waverly.
I was able to book on short notice, which I LOVE. The salon is beautifully modern and CLEAN. The products are delightful. But again, Tracy is FAB.
She listened to what I wanted, but also gave me suggestions that I hadn’t even considered. She was talkative and energetic. I had a blast sitting in her chair while she worked her magic. I left totally satisfied! Will certainly be back!

I’ve been to The Waverly several times now and I have to say, this place is seriously AMAZING!
When you walk in, you notice the interior is beautifully designed — it’s clean and modern but still inviting. They carry the most luxurious product lines (that are lined up and down the wall perfectly), always chocolates or something sweet on the table, drinks, gorgeous fresh flowers, and the receptionists are super accommodating and friendly. Plus, everyone walking out is looking beautiful and smiling — that’s always a good sign!
My stylist is Chanele, and she’s like a glorious hair-​styling goddess, straight from heaven. I like to change my color often and have a huge head of thick hair that’s not easy for most stylists to deal with — but for Chanele, no problem! I also hate cutting length from my hair and she does a perfect «dusting» just to keep it looking and feeling healthy.
I have friends that are always raving about Patty and Nicole, who are stylists here too. So somehow, they’ve found a group of the BEST of the BEST to work here, or there’s something magical in the shampoo bowls!

I’ve been a devoted client of Chanelle’s since moving here. I was so pleased when she opened her own salon.
The salon itself is beautiful. Think slightly industrial but warm and open. Very modern and relaxing.
Chanelle does my hair as well as friends and she does an amazing job each time. She’s worked with me as I grow out bangs (a rite of passage all women must endure), we’ve switched up color based on season’s or personal whims. She is honest about when I need to trim off a little more than I want to, which I need someone to do. ;) She works with what your hair will ‘do’ and what you want.
If I were rich, I’d hire her to style my hair for me each week because I walk out and love my bouncy shiny hair. Alas, I will settle for every 6 – 8 weeks until I win the lottery.
Moving to a new city/​state often requires multiple (and awful) visits to salons to find that perfect stylist. She did my hair once and I never had to keep looking.

Chanele is amazing! I actually found her from reading other people’s posts on Unilocal and decided to try her out. She is so amazing that I followed her over from another salon and her new salon is really exceptional! The Waverly is so clean and full of light — and very inviting. Also the most comfortable washbowls and chairs! (I alway dread the strain on my neck when I lean back to dump my head in that bowl! but her new chairs are super comfortable!)
So…aside from a gorgeous salon — Chanele is a very talented stylist! Ever since I left LA it’s been a bit challenging to find someone who can do amazing color AND cut. Usually the stylist can do one very well — but not both — and Chanele is really incredible! I’m loading up photos — so you can see for yourself! I have long wavey hair and she has made my color so natural and multi-​dimensional — it’s awesome — exactly what I was looking for.
You give her a shot — you won’t be disappointed! :)
