I had a groupon for wine tasting and appetizers. I went with my sisters and we were very pleasantly surprised. Our server and was efficient and friendly. There are quite a few varieties of wines to taste from. The appetizers were tasty. We had the warm brie plate and the antipasto platter. Both were quite large and went nicely with the wines. With the groupon it was a great value and a great experience.

Stopped in today with a Groupon for 4 people. We only had three so the staff allowed us to slightly alter the groupon so we could keep the full value of it. Ended up tasting about half of the wines on the menu and they were all great. The staff was very knowledgeable about all their wines and answered all of our questions. The appetizers and desserts we ordered were all great as well! I will be back again soon!

I have visited this winery twice and I really enjoyed it both times. We came for wine tasting and appetizers and they did not disappoint! What a funky little place, great atmosphere. My favorite was Summer Rain. I took home a bottle of this for Mom with a special mother’s day label. I recommend the warmed brie appetizer, excellent! What a fun way to spend time with friends and enjoy good wine. I would definitely come back again. The staff was very friendly and made our experience a lot of fun.

Me and 2 friends came in today using a 4-person Groupon sampler which served each person 51-oz samples. Our first server was really nice and patient and explained since we only had 3 people we can trade the 4th person’s share of wine for a full glass. The wine was good, so we’re the cheese platters. But what ruined the experience for us was the other server who gave us our bill. We reiterated to him what our first server said, since we still needed that full glass of wine. The server(Gianni) was very rude and when we simply suggested that he verify what we were requesting with the other server(which was less than 20 feet away) he rudely cut us off. His rude demeanor not only took us back, but the full table next to us was shocked as well. As a result of this we ended up not getting out 4th person’s worth of wine and just paid the bill and left. If it weren’t for that server I would give the place 4 stars.

I have never written a review before on Unilocal, but my experience here today made me. Along with 2 friends, we went to Su Vino on a $ 25 for 4 people groupon. The deal was five 1 oz, glasses per person however since there were only 3 of us the original server said we could split the last set among us and get a full glass in its place. But I’ll come back to this.* So the area was nice, the wine was tasty, and so was the food. Big enough portions. We purchased another platter along with groupon because we wanted to try some of their Brie. We even played a board game. It was a great experience…, until another server decided to give us attitude when we were politely explaining to him what the previous server said to us.* This rude server, Gianny, decided to insult us when we were being polite in front of others as if we were asking for a handout. I understand we use a groupon but the place was know for using groupon as the table behind us used it as well. Gianny gave us attitude and we were shocked since we were having such a great time. Needless to say we decided to skip on sharing the fourth set of wine and paid and left. Like I said this place isn’t a bad place but the experience at the end was so disappointing I know not to recommend at least while he’s working. Maybe he’s having a bad day, but I hope he understands to work on his tone. Thank you.

So I’m all about the customer experience. You could have the best wine and cheese platters in the world if your customer service isn’t up to par then you lose my vote. Came here after work with some friends and we were having a great time until our interaction with a server named Gianni. His tone and attitude was really rude and uncalled for and honestly spoiled our evening. We ended up asking for the check and just left. Note to management please explain to Gianni that if the tone and manner that you’re speaking with customers causes the next table to turn around and listen you’re probably doing something wrong.

We had to wait a while for a table but it’s nothing to wine about, it was well worth the wait. Check out groupon for a coupon for four, five different wines and two appetizers, well worth the price, of course you can upgrade. There wasn’t one wine we didn’t enjoy. The cheese plate is a must have with any wine it also includes nuts and fruit. The atmosphere was very relaxing and we where not rushed, grab a game or two from their game table and enjoy an amazing evening with friends.

I really wanted to like this place! But it was just so bad! Went on a Saturday around 6:30ish, it wasn’t too busy and they were really well staffed(I think there were 6 people behind the bar). Despite this it still took a solid 15 mins before anyone even acknowledged us. The bartenders weren’t knowledgeable at all though– I’m def no wine snob but one literally responded to a question with«it’s a red wine from France»… You order each tasting 1 at a time and it took at least 10 mins after we were finished to get someone’s attention to order the next. Weirdest part was the bartenders were all right there– cleaning glassware, organizing wine, making food(yes, they make food right at the bar. Simple stuff but it was still a little awkward– especially when they’re snacking on that same food amidst everything else going on)… Maybe their staff is reaaaally new but we interacted with several so it seems more like a management problem. Moral of the story– there are much better wine options in Scottsdale, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else

This is an interesting spot with a lot of potential but unfortunately most of it is lost as the location is not ideal, thus resulting in very little foot traffic. On a Friday night around 7:30PM, the place was alarmingly quiet, which is uncharacteristic of venues in Old Town Scottsdale on the weekends. The food, while decent, could be a little more exciting. Although, the burrata was delicious! As a red wine drinker, I was rather disappointed in their selection of reds. All of the reds I tried were on the fruitier/sweeter side. I was told that most of their reds, if not all, were fruitier as opposed to full bodied and robust. However, they have a phenomenal rich red cocoa wine that my friend thoroughly enjoyed. It would pair well with fresh strawberries or raspberries. I really wanted to love this place. And I intend on giving it a second chance. But I think some new marketing strategies would greatly benefit this spot. I look forward to seeing it continue to evolve.

This little winery is pretty special. Its very quaint and the staff is amazing. From the beginning they were friendly and looking to help and provide service. Very knowledgeable about wine and do a very good job with their own wines. Had the Cab /Merlot blend and a glass of the Cab. Both very good. I like a nice spice to my wine so the straight Cab was my favorite but they did a really great job blending the two with the Cab /Merlot. Cheese plate was about $ 12 but worth it. have a good variety of cheese and fruit. I would of liked a few more crackers but made due. All in all a must go if you have not. A little hard to find but if you park on Main you should be able to find it. Make sure to ask questions because they know their stuff.

Ahhh. this was such a refreshing little mid day treat! Tucked away off of Goldwater and next to the Museum of the West, this quaint little wine bar was a great find thanks to Groupon. We did the wine tasting and app for two, ordering a caprese plate to share and ending the tasting by getting a glass of our fave wine. My favorite was the Pinot Noir — so buttery and smooth! The food was pretty decent too. huge pieces of tomatoes and mozzarella. The master wine maker(who you would never guess is the master wine maker) also doubled as the sole server. Though not a big place, they definitely could’ve used an extra body in there to help wait. We found ourselves sitting for a while between tastings. not our server’s fault but created some lulls during the tasting. Excited to come back with my fiancé’s parents in a few weeks. Great wine spot!

My partner and I purchased a Groupon for Su Vino, we each could sample 5 wines of our choice and share an appetizer for $ 16 + tax. I overheard one of the waiters say that almost all of their customers come through Groupon, so it seems like the Groupon is always available. So if you’d like to go, make sure to get one a day ahead of time! We made reservations, although, that was total overkill, there was almost no one there on the Friday night we went. The staff was very nice and the cheese platter we selected was huge. More than enough to substitute for our dinner, and we’re big eaters. The only problem was the wine. Personally, I found it completely unenjoyable. Everything was just so sweet! Even after I asked our server for the driest wine they had I received a juice-like white wine. Loved the people, food and price but I just cannot recommend this place as a winery.

Scottsdale first and only winery. This cute little spot is tucked away off of the beaten path. They have a Groupon for 5 wine tastings(per person) and 2 appetizers for $ 29 for 4 people. You cannot beat that! Wine by the glass is also affordable, as well as the other appetizers and desserts. I love that they have board games available to play, collegiate wine merchandise and a nice patio on the side. It’s a great little spot in Scottsdale. I will likely return the next time I am in town!

Terrible place! If you want to be ignored and have lousy service then this is the place for you! We are new to AZ and wanted to do something fun. Drove 45 minutes to wait 35 minutes to be seated and ignored. We sat at the bar but they had too many big parties to tend to individuals at the bar. We got up and left after 15 minutes of no service! Maybe they should not take so many customers if they can’t accommodate them! There is no excuse for horrible service!

I really want to like this place but the staff is making it hard. This is the second time I tried to have drinks there and got turned away. The first time the place was empty but they said they were cleaning it after a party and we couldn’t come in. Although it looked fine to us. This time we came in with my family and they said no– they had too many dishes to wash. It was busier but I still don’t understand who turns people away like that? They said they would not serve us. My family was visiting from the East coast and it was embarrassing. Walked to 5th and Wine around the corner and had a great time there. Can’t see myself going back to this place again. Terrible customer service.

Place was pretty sick. I am not a wine fan normally, and I came here with my girlfriend to see if I could get a taste for any of the wines they served. We had two flights, so I tried 10 different wines total — and I liked almost every single one. Afterwards, we got a free tasting of the port, which was delicious. We got some food, and some more glasses, and even a bottle to go! I can honestly say this place has made me a fan of wine. All of the wines were really well done, the atmosphere was awesome, and the staff was super cool. We will definitely be back.

On our recent trip to AZ, our dear friends took us to Su Vino. We live in CA wine country so I’m a «Wino». We had such a wonderful time. This place is more like a wine bar that only sells their own wine. Grapes come from different places so one pinot noir here is totally different from another one made by the same winemaker. Star of the show was Gianni who took care of us. He is such a delightful young man and already knows a lot about wine. They also have a small menu. We had the antipasto. The charcuterie was superb as was the home made pesto. Love this place! (Oh, the wines were good, too!)

On a recent trip to Phoenix, we visited this winery while exploring Scottsdale. We were hoping to do a wine tasting, but we arrived too close to closing time to start one. They they stop serving tastings one hour before closing, but you can still order wine by the glass. We weren’t sure what we wanted, so the bartender let us try a few before we decided on one. It was like a mini tasting in itself! The staff were so friendly and the wine so tasty that we decided to return a few days later to do a complete tasting. One of the things that we liked about many of their wines was the lower alcohol content, because that night meant that we could enjoy more. The one exception was the Porto Cocoa dessert wine which was absolutely decadent and had an 18% alcohol content. It was the most delicious dessert wine I have ever tasted! I will be back next time I am in Phoenix and hope to visit their Grapevine, Texas location. I will probably also order wines from them online!

I came here for a lunch date with my boyfriend on our anniversary and had a great time ! We did the wine & chocolate tasting. We loved every single wine and the chocolate it was paired with. We ordered the warm brie for an appetizer and it was amazing: D Our waiter was very friendly also ! Before we left, we noticed there are a lot of old board games to play while you’re there too. I’m planning to come back in a few weeks when I have guests in from out of town !

I was excited to check out this place since it is a local winery. I love the setup of the tasting floor. We came early evening and the place was packed with people. We were able to get a spot at the bar and started with 5 tastings. I love hearing about how the wines are made or what we should be tasting but the 3 different waiters/bar backs we had told us nothing, they were too busy. I did enjoy the wine-peachy keen is delicious if you are into white wines. We also got an appetizer but were a bit confused to see it all prepared out of a ziploc bag-sorta killed it for us. I would like to check it out again when they are less busy and we have more time to hear about the wines themselves.

We got to try out a full 5-wine-tasting experience at Su Vino, and it was an afternoon pretty well spent. High points! The location — Wood flooring, a good use of a somewhat unusual space, lots of seating. Placed in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale. The food — The cheese platter, the antipasto platter, and the bread-and-oil combo were all pretty delicious. Simple fare, mostly for keeping your stomach settled between wine courses, naturally, but artfully arranged and tasty. The wine — I’m a fan of sweet wines and this place delivered very well. Personal favorites are the«Summer Rain» and the«Porta Cocoa.» Summer Rain was a vibrant, fruity mix, and the Porta Cocoa is a chocolate-noted, heavy dessert wine with a ton of complex flavors. Both highly recommended for fans of sweets. I had another person with me who prefers dry wines and she loved the Mascala and Cabernet, so Su Vino’s wine — presumably their central attraction — definitely passes muster. Not-so-high-points…: One of the servers there felt extremely out of place. Our initial greeter was a charming woman who knew her business and was able to answer a lot of questions or provide recommendations. Service, however, was split between her and a man who wore jeans and an untucked shirt and who had a «yeah-whaddya-want» attitude. It makes it feel like Su Vino can’t really decide what kind of place it wants to be — a hip little wine-bar for walk-ins, or a classier and more formal place. There are ways to mix the two, but this wasn’t it. It’s either a roadhouse that specializes in wine, or an upscale winery experience. Secondly, they have a collection of old board games made available to customers, from Trivial Pursuit to Boggle. This again seems to raise questions about exactly what kind of place Su Vino is trying to be. A place that bottles its own wines and looks like this should not be trying to become a family restaurant, and if it’s meant more as a «things to do on your date,» maybe 1970s Trivial Pursuit isn’t the way to go??? tl;dr — Overall, Su Vino gets three stars on this particular pass. The overall experience was good. The concept of Su Vino could work out in the long run, but it needs to get over its identity crisis. Be a classy night-life joint OR a bro-dawg date-spot, but don’t try to be both.

Su Vino is a hidden gem in Old Town Scottsdale. You would never expect to find this adorable winery, at least I didn’t. I’ve been in twice now. Once just to grab a bottle of wine and once to sit at the bar and do a wine tasting. They actually make their wine right on location which is pretty interesting once you see the venue. Wine tasting — I highly recommend. You can sample 5 wines for $ 10. What a steal. I prefer red wine(Usually a Cab) but I really enjoyed their sweeter white wines also– Peechy Keen and Summer Rain. I didn’t end up buying a bottle but out of the wines I sampled I liked the Malbec best. Didn’t try a Cab this night. They have nice appetizers available, I haven’t tried any but they looked awesome. Staff was friendly and attentive and had us laughing at the bar. Even met and talked to the owner who seemed like a nice and down to earth guy. The ambience is great here, very relaxed, my kinda place! Can’t wait to spend more time drinking wine at Su Vino. Thanks, guys!

It is with some hesitation that I am giving Su Vino a 3-star rating. Allow me to start with the great things and end it with the doozy. The ambience of the venue is quite nice! There is plenty of seating options to accommodate their guests including tables to seat large parties(there were 13 of us who all fit comfortably), smaller tables for intimate seating, bar side stools, and patio seating. It is clean, inviting, with a hint of an Italian influence. Not to mention, they make, bottle, serve and sell their own vintages. It really is a great local business. Unfortunately, as nice as the venue was, the experience my group and I had was leas than stellar. We had made reservations weeks in advance. They did reserve the table for us, however their planning for sufficient staff was not on point. Our server was really nice, but the poor guy had to do EVERYTHING himself, not only for our party of 13, but for the other 3 – 4 tables of guests he had additionally. He had to take orders, pour all of the tastings, prepare, plate and serve the food dishes we ordered, and clear all of the glasses so they could be washed and reused before each new serving. Their lack of prior proper planning made for an unnecessary, elongated wine tasting. Our bread plate and cheese platter took FOREVER to get out. We had every intention of ordering more food and drinks, but the basic tastings and two app orders we did place took so long we didn’t want to chance loosing our dinner reservation. If they would have asked a few more staff members to help out that evening it would have made for a much smoother, more enjoyable experience. I would still encourage you to try it out, but warn that if you’re in a time crunch or have a large party, you may want to be prepared.

I really wanted to like Su Vino… and I had high enough expectations for the place that I even organized a girl’s night with 6 or 7 friends at this place, having never been there before. Well, that was my mistake. Su Vino did take our reservation and accommodate us as promised. I was a little confused when making the reservation, as the lady asked me what we’d be having. Since we were all new to the place, I told her I wasn’t sure and wasn’t comfortable with ordering for everyone.(I had no idea how hungry people would be, or if they would just want wine or what have you…) Anyway, when I got to the winery, our table was ready, and having arrived about 10 – 15 minutes early, I had a seat. While I waited, they brought over extra chairs, but never offered me anything to drink(a glass of wine might’ve been nice… even water!). They seemed understaffed and busy, so I wasn’t able to catch someone and place an order while I waited. At our reservation time, 2 – 3 ladies arrived and joined my at our table.(As with most social outings, you have people who arrive on time and those who are«fashionably late».) I hoped at this point that the waiter or waitress would approach us for drinks, but we weren’t helped until ALL members of our party had arrived, which was 15 – 20 minutes later. I’d been sitting there for over 30 minutes without even so much as an offer to order wine or anything else. We finally got the attention of the waitress and ordered wine and appetizers. The appetizers are the only reason I gave this place an extra star. The food quality was good, and the portions were generous. We chose to do wine flights(big mistake), and with a flight of 5 wines(all ordered at the start), we waited about 15 minutes between each sample. It takes less than 5min to finish what equates to about 4 sips of wine… and so we sat with glasses empty for the majority of our evening. As to the quality of the wines, they were okay. Nothing fantastic, but we’re far from refined pallets and we were just fine with them. Two of the ladies in my party decided to split a bottle of wine, and when the waitress brought an open bottle of the wrong wine, she pointed out that they’d ordered something else. The waitress, jokingly but very rudely, told her how much trouble she was and went back to get and open the correct bottle. She didn’t know the other ladies well and was embarrassed by the whole thing, which just honestly wasn’t appropriate. By the time we left, we were pretty let down by the service at this place. It took FOREVER to get drinks, and we would have ordered far more(probably a few bottles), if the service had been quicker and kept our glasses full. If they’d even just brought out all of our samples at once, we’d have finished them in 20 – 30 minutes and spent the next hour ordering additional drinks. Ultimately, Su Vino was a super disappointing experience. I was really hoping to introduce the ladies to a fun new wine bar that we could then frequent. We all left disappointed, a little offended, and swearing the place off. Management really needs to staff the place better… The servers that were there were stretched far too thin over several tables to offer effective service.

My wine tasting here was awesome. I was able to find a good deal on Groupon to experience their wine tasting and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The cheese trey with 4 different cheeses, an assortment of crackers, and fruits(strawberries, grapes, and melons) was a nice touch to the tasting. Su Vino had a great selection of wine. I am particularly biased to reds and their Malbec and Merlot were great. I also had their Pinot Grigio, Peachy Keen, and Summer Rain. My favorite was the Peachy Keen. It was sweet and smooth. I recommend that you try that one if you like sweeter wines. I also liked the fact that they carried a huge variety of wine accessories such as wine stoppers, decanters, glasses, carriers, and cork cages. I highly recommend coming here.
