Great simple down home food. No health food here. They have big portions, and not much atmosphere, so usually get it to go and enjoy it for several meals. Very affordable. Get there early, they close by 3 or 4 every afternoon. Only complaint is I wish they were open for supper!

I actually wrote a review of this place back in 2008 but somehow Unilocal has removed my profile and reviews. I guess I wasn’t writing often enough. Anyway I’m glad more diners have discovered this place and reviewed it. When I was there last I had a hamburger steak plate that was very good and the sides were as well. The cook’s attitudes were very good and made my eating experience very nice. I hope more people find this place and tell their friends.

Awesome, cheap, yummy southern meat and veggie place. I usually get the chicken — yum! There is always a whole second meal of leftovers for me, too, which I love. Service is wonderful, too. The décor is like your grandma’s house, but it’s charming in its’ own way! I edited this review and am now giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The last time I ate there, my green beans were so salty, I couldn’t even eat them! Yuck. It happens, though.

The simple name suggests the simple décor and food, but as Gordon Ramsay so often beats into peoples’ brains, simple is supreme! Nothing to make a big fuss about, let’s just get down to eating! Spartan would be a nice way to describe the interior of the restaurant. The only things you’ll find inside are those essential for eating your meal, and that’s just fine by me. I believe it’s just a husband and wife team that run the whole place. Been there now for both lunch and breakfast(no supper for you!) and each was a good experience. The food is well seasoned and you get a great portion, especially for the money. $ 6.99 for lunch including a drink, $ 4.82 for my breakfast? Yeah, that’s a deal right there. Check them out if you get a chance!

Have been looking for a Meat and Two for a long time. Went for the first time today with my friend and we were not disappointed. The Fried Chicken is some of the best in town. Better than the Colonnade and tens times better than that Carvers place. And the price is so down to earth it is unbelievable. The Mac N Cheese just like my mother use to make and the green beens were pretty good also. The corn muffin was right on. The sweet tea was some of the best in town… and all the refills you want. We had the bannana pudding and it was great. Chock full of bannanas and purely homemade. We also tried the peach cobbler. It was pretty good, a little too much cinnamon, but the leftovers we have will be great with a little vanilla icecream tonight. The even better part of the whole experience is that with all of my questions for the young lady, she remained flexible with a can do attitude. What more does one want in todays ecomony and attitude. Can’t wait to go back for breakfast… will post that next experiece hopefully soon.

Been there three times so far. Real good down home cooking. Ribs could be improved. First time they were a little chewy but all right. The sides are great! Collard greens, yams, mac & cheese, fried okra cooked at order. Peach cobbler is good. Not too sweet but the take out portion could be a bit more. The first meal I had was chicken fried steak although the menu said it was salisbury steak. The meat was fork tender and complimented well by the homemade gravy. Although they close at 3pm this is a great place for lunch.
