This is a great spot for breakfast/brunch. It’s been here for what seems like longer than anything else in the area. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. My favorite is their French toast. It’s French bread slices and sugary sweet. They get pretty crowded on the weekends and there’s not an over abundance of seating. I prefer to go on weekdays. Service is always good and I always leave happy.

It was decent, to me about the same as IHOP.

We have ate here many times but this was our first time at this location. I have always been impressed with the food but this time was different. Our waitress was Keisha. She is the definition of waitress. She was fast and efficient. Our drinks were always full and we were never left wondering where she was. She smiled every time she was at our table. She had the best personality I have ever seen. I run a business and if I lived locally I would snatch her up and hire her. I feel quite confident that she could be trained to do anything. The reason we went was the food. And as expected it was great! The reason we will be back is Kesha and the pancakes(and bacon)!

This review is for a Saturday afternoon brunch experience. Food: 3 Service: 3.5 Ambience: 2.5 Food: We ordered the chorizo omelette, marinated chicken and eggs, classic pancakes and spiced hot chocolate(can’t remember the exact name). The omelette was massive and made with about 6 — 8 eggs. The marinated chicken and eggs was very underwhelming. The chicken breast was quite meh. The pancakes were ok but somewhat cold by the time they arrived. Also, the syrup is watery here. The server mentioned that the syrup machine was so hot that it liquidifies the syrup. *so weird* The spiced hot chocolate drink was the best thing we had. My only complain is that it was such a small size. The crazy: The menu items at this spot seem very affordable at first glance. However, any modification to the menu is pricey. For example, it costs $ 1.50 for every item added to an omelette. So, $ 1.50 for cheese, another $ 1.50 for onions… etc. Crazy! Service: Our server was knowledgeable but she seemed stretched with the number of tables she waited Ambience: It has an off-brand Waffle House feel in circular structure.

Nothing beats breakfast food and brunch in the south! Usually head to the one over in Cheshire Bridge, but decided to swing by this location instead last weekend for the first time. It did not disappoint! The place seems to be a more open space-wise. I had the pumpkin pancakes and potatoes– they were both very good and delicious. Service was reasonable and seemed comparable to the Cheshire Bridge one. Looking forward to another visit.

I admit love pancakes, it’s one of my guilty pleasures; my favorite is the banana pancakes! I had been begging/nagging DH for some pancakes as I had been craving them and he suggested The Original Pancake House for a Sunday brunch. There was about a 10 min. wait for a table, but they have a room off to the side with benches that you can sit and wait until your name is called. Once seated, our waitress came up quickly to take our order. I decided on a combo of eggs, bacon and of course, banana pancakes. We got our food in a decent amount of time considering that it was a packed house. However, my pancakes were just eh. I had imagined them as huge, fluffy stacks and what I got was thin, anorexic with hidden slivers of banana inside. Not exactly the stuff that makes you salivate with happiness and hunger in your eyes. The best thing on my plate was the thick cuts of bacon. It was edible, but not as enjoyable as I had hoped and the«tropical syrup», I honestly could not tell you what was tropical about them. It was just syrup. The atmosphere is pretty open and loud as well. It was hard to have a conversation with DH from across the table and he seemed to be just as lackluster about his brunch as I was about mine. We agreed that the next time a pancake craving hit we would try First Watch since their banana granola pancake is on point!

I hadn’t eaten here in several years. I always have the cherry crepes. I was in the neighborhood this morning, so I stopped by. The crepes were as good as ever, although a little smaller than I remembered. The thing that got me though, was when I paid the cashier with a debit card, she asked if I wanted to put a tip on the card. I said yes. I was expecting to write in 20% on the receipt, but there was no place to write it. The cashier had already added a $ 6 tip to the $ 16.91 check. She actually decided a 35% gratuity without my approving it! Well, at least the service had been good…

I’ve been a customer here for more than 10 years. Today we asked for a table for 6. At times we’ve had 10. The hostess-less girl told me the wait was 15 minutes as I placed my name on the wait list. 25 minutes later she tells me after all those who have been seated that came in after me, she would push a 2 top with a 4 top table together. 5 minutes later, she sits someone at the 2 top. 45 minutes after I walked in, we finally got a 4 top for 6. The wait staff and the buss staff should realize this hostess-less girl just cost them a $ 30 tip. Also, to the customers who frequent here. This is a business, not a social gathering place. If you need to have conversations, there’s a parking lot outside. These people make maybe $ 3/per hour and live off of tips. You need to eat and get out! You’re preventing these amazing hard working people from providing for their families. But then most of you are uninformed, non common since, non technology thinking people so you won’t see this post. Unless your 12 year old child of grandchild reads it to you. But then they were raised by you and government schools which is why you’re in the sad state you’re in!

This house made every sense of the word ORIGINAL in its name! I liked the old feeling that I got from this location. I came here after my sister graduated and was with a big group. We sat ourselves and buckled our seat belts! The menu was very extensive and but still easy to read. I order the Western Omelette and it came with a short stack of pancakes. I was not ready for what came to the table! I had a huge omelette that took up basically the whole plate! It was extremely flavorful. The syrup that came to the table was nice and hot and came out like water and soaked right into the pancakes! That maple syrup was the BOMB!!! Staff was super speedy and served everyone in timely matter. S/N: If the food doesn’t have your coming back the Sweet Tea will have you coming back for sure!!!

As he sat back from the table, the food coma arrested his basic functions. The smell of delicious syrup in the air. It was as if heavens main kitchen sent a special order of pancakes from on high, flipped with God’s own spatula. It was then he noticed a single joyous tear caressing his cheek, goosebumps, always OK this morning.

This is the place we bring out of town guests, and where we come every Sunday. The apple pancake is to die for, the dutch babies are perfect and I have no idea how they get their omelets so light and fluffy. Will continue to come until we are old and grey.

Hmmm… this is not the Original Pancake House I remember as a kid. The food was okay. I ordered the pancake, eggs and bacon special. The pancakes were tasty but small for the price, a little larger than the palm of my hand. There were four slices of bacon so I had enough for leftovers and it was good. The eggs were yellow and fluffy(like IHops) so I suspect they are powdered. I was a little scared of them. I also deducted a star for the floors. Granted, I came in right before closing but they could use sweeping and mopping. It’s one of my pet peeves. It was $ 9 which is expensive for what I got. I might give it another try for the waffle or Apple Dutch pancake everyone is raving about. But if I return, I’ll skip the eggs and get it to go.

Pancakes are the best! This place specializes in them. I ate here on a Sunday. The place was packed. The staff did a great job of handling the crowd. I’m assuming this is how it is every Sunday. I got the Cinnamon Raisin Pancakes and scrambled eggs. The smallest offering you can get is 3 pancakes and you can get a lot more. However, you can get waffles, crepes, etc. There are several sides you can get also like oatmeal, fruit, applesauce. I enjoyed the pancakes I had with the Apple Butter syrup. Overall, the place was clean and the food was really good and filling. I’d visit again, but come early if it’s a Sunday.

I visited this place with my family. We ordered three eggs and pancake dishes one with pork sausage patties, one with turkey sausage patties and another with Canadian bacon. Sides were cheese grits and skillet potatoes. All agreed that we won’t be back. There was a small wait which is to be expected on a Sunday morning. Cheese grits were nasty. It was orange cheese powder added to mediocre grits. They were left uneaten. So were those salty and unimpressive potatoes. I ordered the turkey sausage and the waitress mixed that order up. But since she specifically TOLD me it was turkey sausage I tasted it. It was not. So if you don’t eat pork then don’t come here as not even the servers know what you’re eating. I also had to flag down another waitress for a coffee refill since my server let my cup run dry and was nowhere to be seen to ask for a refill. I even started to get up and just take my cup to the cashier and ask her for a refill. We just got the plain pancakes and they were unimpressive. So was the corn syrup, i.e. not maple. The only bright spot were the scrambled eggs and that’s not enough to bring me back to a restaurant for breakfast. The food was pretty much panned by everybody. We won’t be back.

The food is delicious! I had the GA pecan pancakes with cheese grits and hash browns. The place was quite busy but the food arrived quickly and the service staff are friendly. The prices are affordable for the amount of food you get.

This place is where you need to get breakfast; no others compare. The service is extremely friendly and food was top notch! One of the waitresses came by(not even ours), and offered whipped cream for my husband’s pancake! Extremely thoughtful staff; you can definitely tell their manager takes care of them. We live about 250 miles away from this place, and I know we will be back :)

Service is good and attentive. But I’m super disappointed that after eating at 2 postings pancake houses here in Atlanta, I still can’t find the puffy Dutch baby. The one in Cheshire bridge was small and flat. When I went to the stone mountain outlet this morning, I asked the server which was their Dutch baby(showing both pictures), I was told they can do both. And the puffy one was actually the German. So I ordered the German. What a disappointment. It’s bigger but just as flat. I’m going to attach all 3 pictures. The flat ones from Atlanta. The puffy one is from San Diego.

What a pleasant breakfast we had today! First time to visit the original pancake house and it was amazing. We are looking forward to come back here again just to bring the kids for breakfast. Kelly was a pleasant server, super friendly which goes the same for the whole staff. The food was incredible especially the Apple Dutch baby it was huge and delicious! I highly recommend this place to anybody who is in the mood for great service and a great feeling breakfast. Don’t forget to ask for kelly.

The Original Pancake House is the white bathrobe of breakfast restaurants, basic but essential. That may explain the line out the door at the Cheshire Bridge location on weekends; people will wait 30 – 45 minutes for a seat. I was in that number until I discovered the location on Memorial Drive. Same carb-fueled breakfast, no delay. No line cutting paranoia. No pressure to rush through my meal and yield the table to someone waiting in desperation outside. I can take my time and enjoy my breakfast. They offer classic diner fare: pancakes, crepes, omelets and hot cereal with assorted meats. I’m a huge fan of their golden brown waffles. Truth be told, many of the breakfast places in the city have similar menus. But why spend precious minutes of your weekend waiting in a queue when you don’t have to?

Well guys, OG Pancake Hut is undead to me now. Which is very thematic since it’s Zombie Jesus Day today! My love for pancakes has been resurrected, hallelujah! For some reason, I woke up this morning with a hankering for banana pancakes. I opened my eyes, and said, ‘Boo, let’s go to Pancake’s house!” He was into it, so we drove the amazingly short distance. The place was packed since it’s Easter and all, but we didn’t even have to wait in line. A super friendly dude told us to sit wherever we wanted. Our waitress was adorable and sweet, and complimented my dress AND my burping hamburger keychain. I love her. I got a half stack of nannercakes, an order of bacon, and I asked her for some pecans to toss on my cakes. She brought everything quickly, refilled drinks as needed, and stayed in a good mood even while her next table over was filled with screaming kids. My food was delicious, my husboo’s food(sausage and some peach pancakes) was ALSO delicious, and we were even impressed by the scary-sounding tropical syrup. It looked to be freshly blended orange and pineapple, and was sweet but not overpowering. All told, including tip, we got out of there for under $ 30. I mean it’s basically a diner, sure, but it was all tasty and QUICK. I think we were in and out in under 45 minutes! I will definitely be back. Though I might avoid the hash, because the father of the noisy kids at the next table got it and it looked straight outta the Hormel can. No thanks, gimme the bacon!
