I moved to NJ about 11 years ago and had a hard time finding a place that reminded me of Vicenzio’s Barber Shop in Monroe, NY and also didn’t charge an arm and a leg for a haircut. After going to Haircut Beach nearby which closed down, I gave this place a try and have been coming here ever since. Everyone is nice and friendly and I always walk away happy with my haircut.

Just moved to Scotch Plains. Found Vic’s here on Unilocal and couldn’t be happier. Just like the other reviewer said. Old school barber shop like the ones I grew up with. They are closed on Wed and Sun. Open from 8am-6pm M, T, Th, F and 8am-5pm on Sat. $ 15 men’s haircut. Now, I don’t have to look for a barber anymore.

One of the few old school barber shop remaining, and with classic prices to boot! I’ve been going to Vic’s since I was a kid and I’m 32 years old now. The place has barely changed at all since back then: same pictures on the wall, same old coke machine in the back, same barber chairs in a row, and more or less the same barbers fastidiously cutting hair for customers sitting in line at the same waiting chairs towards the rear. Appointments are not taken, customers just show up through the shop’s rear door. As of this review, Vic’s prices are still only $ 13 for a regular cut, a value that’s nearly impossible to find these days and one which has moved ONCE in my lifetime, as far as I know. I have rarely left with a haircut that I didn’t like, and occasionally they’ll even shave the back of your neck with hot lather and a straight edge. Also FWIW, never fear Sons of Italy, because Italian is spoken here. Fluently and often. Finally, I can’t imagine it’d be a good place for a woman to have her hair cut; I only really remember the place being filled with guys looking for trims, buzzes, and clipper/scissor cuts and there’s not a perm helmet in sight.
