On Thursdays the cafeterias are usually stuffed with overly sauced foods and so many unhealthy items that its pointless keeping a diet. However this right here is a near to perfect(only because brown rice isnt sold) replacement! Grilled chicken and tossed greens! What more can one ask for. However the mac salad and rice combo is amazing as well! I go here every thursday!

Kiani’s never fails to deliver exceptional service and quality. Every time I come here I get alot more than just food, I receive that loving aloha welcome. Today we ordered plates for the men over at Helemano farms. They have not tried kiani’s before so why not spread aloha? Kiani’s hooked it up with the mini plates and of course the shrimp for me and the old man. Thank you Kiani’s for providing amazing service and delicious food. Happy holidays.

If you find yourself on Schofield for lunch this is where you should be eating. Not a huge variety but what they do, they do fantastically. Chicken or Galbi is the two main meat choices. You can’t go wrong with either but I would definitely go with the Galbi. It is marinated wonderfully and cooked until nice and tender. It embodies the sentiment of meat candy. It’s outside so if it is raining you might want to try something else. Other downside is that it is a victum of it’s own success. Always a long line, but it is worth the wait!

How have I forgotten to Unilocal about this place? This place is probably the best tasting place on Schofield to eat, HANDSDOWN. And for bbq chicken, this place is the best on island. It’s «guava bbq» chicken, but don’t let that fool you. It’s not a sweet candy tasting chicken. It’s just the best bbq-ed on the grill flavor chicken… EVER. I’ve only had the chicken, kalbi, and shrimp from here, but they have other items like salad with pineapple dressing that I heard is really good. But I just mainly come for the chicken. I found their sauce/marinade at the commissary before I even knew this place existed and that’s what got me hooked. We marinated the chicken in it and then threw it on the grill… Oh Em Gee I’m salivating just thinking about it. I thought it was a fluke and tried it again, and the same amazing results. I found out that they only sell it at the Commissary and at their Schofield PX location, so I made sure I stocked up on some and got some to mail to my husband’s family back in the states. They also have the best customer service here. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Adrienne when picking up some marinade. He was so helpful and friendly. When you watch everyone there, they all look like they love what they are doing and they are always trying to please their customers. These guys are the epitome of the Aloha Spirit! Thank you for all that you do and making the best chicken marinade ever! Aloha!

I love the chicken and kalbi plate from here with the mac salad and rice. But since it gets so packed its a hit or miss with the cooking of the chicken. I’ve gotten pieces that are tooo done for my taste(burned). However the customer service is always great. It can also be a long wait to get your plate and its hot out so thats not pleasant. Overall, the food is worth it and i enjoy coming no matter what.

The original HAWAIIAN guava chicken shack! You can’t go wrong with ANYTHING you order here. SUCH excellent customer service. It’s also the cleanest facility outside of the px, in my opinion. They pump you up with food so you never have to worry about being hungry after you leave. Definitely eat here if you’re at the px.

Just wanted to put down a few lines about this outside eatery. I had a really long flight here, told my kid I was hungry wanted to get something good to eat. So we pull up to this smoke fest in front of a Px. I’m thinking great flies, food poisoning all the above. Then to top it all off there’s this CRAZYMAN running around with food on forks for people. I could go on for hours about this stand. Bottom line they give you more food than you can eat, customer service is off the hook. All three dishes I’ve had are amazing. Try it.

This place is awesome. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and how confident, passionate and energetic the customer service was. The food is amazing. I had the original guava chicken, rice and Mac cheese. Delish!!! Probably one of the best places I’ve eaten at in a very long time. I definitely will be returning.

The line was long but it was worth the wait. The customer service was impeccable. There people are genuinely nice. Everyone in line to order for lunch seem to be repeat customers who knew exactly what they wanted. Although when I asked for recommendations they said it was all delicious but to start with the original and get their potato salad. I ordered the orginal kiani’s guava chicken and totally forgot to ask for the potato salad which they ended up adding it on the house since I never had it before. Let’s just say I am glad I stood in line and waited. It brings you back to the backyard bbq with the family. I’d come back!

Seriously awesome Guava Chicken! I could probably eat this every day and be happy. Throw a little hot sauce on the rice and get their mac salad.

I love this place! Amazing food and even better customer service. I gave it 4 stars though because more than half the time I go they don’t have there mac salad. Other than not having enough mac salad the food is pretty delicious. Love the guava chicken the shrimp is killer to!!! Also its pretty odd they sell salad but don’t have salad dressing.

The guy who took my order knew it was my first time there lol and let me a sample the guava chicken. I ended up going with the guava chicken mixed plate! Yumminess! The macaroni salad was really good and the meats were really good too! Not salty like I expected! Great place to eat if you’re at Schofield Barracks… right outside PX.

Guava chicken. I was up at Schofield for a course and wanted to try the chicken again. Atmosphere: outdoor food stand. Plenty of seats and tables available amongst the other stands. Service: Very kind and welcoming workers. Aloha hospitality. Feeds the customers samples while waiting. Food: I had the guava chicken and shrimp plate for only $ 12 with mac salad and rice. What a deal?! I came here before the last time I was up at schofield and I knew I had to try it again. Intangibles: as good as a food stand can get. I will be coming here again very soon!

Located right outside the food court in the PX. This place is so bomb. The food is delicious and the guys running the place are super friendly and always cracking jokes. The plates mainly consist of chicken, kalbi, and shrimp. Get here early though because the line is long around lunch time but it goes down pretty fast! Worth the wait no matter how you look at it.

First taste of Hawaiian food I had when I got here. I fell in love immediately. The breaded Mahi Mahi was amazing with their tarter sauce and so was the guava chicken. Also the owner Andy is awesome! Great food, Great customer service, and amazing prices!

My coworkers have been raving about this place. Today, I decided to try it for myself. One of my coworkers advised me that I go before rush hour; the line gets really long, and they run out of food. Went there around 11:30am. It wasn’t too busy; there were three customers in front of me but the line went by quick. I ordered the Guava Chicken and Shrimp plate and chose toss salad over mac salad. The service is quick and friendly! I got my food in less than five minutes. I like that they have a station with the condiments, salad dressings, utensils, napkins and plastic bags so you put together and choose the items you need. I also like the fact that they ask your name and call you by name as they write it down on the styrofoam container, which the food is served in, and when you pick it up. My meal was six pieces of shrimp and two pieces boneless chicken, and two scoops white rice(man, if only they had brown rice!). The shrimp was delicious but not drenched with too much garlic. The guava chicken was also tasty; I could taste the sweetness from the guava. The other item I want to try is the Crusted Mahi Mahi, which I’ve heard is tasty. I will be coming back again soon!

«$ 12FO’ DAT???» was what Mr. Man had to say after the Styrofoam lid went up. Yikes. As a plate lunch lover, he was P.O.‘ed by the value, and then mad about the lack of flavor, but eh, not many choices if you don’t wanna go off post anymore. Dangit. Standing in line, the hibachi smoke smelled good… maybe this was an off day, but… sheesh. $ 12 for the combo guava chicken and kalbi plate. Came with one average-sized boneless chicken thigh, and one manini one – neither tasted like guava or much of anything. Char on one was okay, but on the other was bad – needed at least another 30 seconds on the grill. Have never seen kalbi that thin and small – like they cut one regular piece kalbi in half to make it into two. It also needed at least a minute more on the grill to render out some of the fat and give it a better color than super-light beige. Two average scoops rice and one small scoop tasty mac salad, but yeah… small. Customer service gives it the additional star – the food sanitation was really good for an outdoor, food-truckish kind of stand, and the people were REALLY nice. I appreciated that although they are outside, they 1) keep hinged-lid buffet warmers closed after each time they got rice, etc., to keep any flies/bugs out, 2) food servers/platers wore gloves, and 3) cashier was separate(no touching cash and food with the same hand… eww). There are other outdoor food stands at Schofield’s food court that have open bins with flies everywhere, ahem… but not here. Do not intend to return. May try it again one of these days when I just don’t want to leave post for lunch, in case this plate didn’t really rep the place. Terrible value, meh flavor, but nice customer service.

Whenever I get the chance I try to eat here! Located just outside the schofield PX and they fill tbd outdoor area with such good island music and smells. The derive is very friendly and usually time saver as well. In fact on time they were very busy, my order got passed over but once the realized it he tripled my order for free. Very very good service. I always get the guava chocked and Kailua pork but everything is good!

5* for the mac salad 4* for the chicken 3* for the price(but they do give discount ;)) 2* for the wait The smell of fresh keawe bbq is what sells this place. You cant help but be drawn to it as you walk up to the PX. Thats what got me. While I think the price point is a little much for BBQ chicken($ 8) but you don’t have many options when eating on base. I’m not complaining or whinining and would gladly pay the $ 2 more for Kiani’s chicken plate versus L&L any day… Since the chicken is made to order it does take some time for you plate to come out but trust me, it is worth the wait. While the chicken is great, the real star of the plate lunch is the mac salad. I don’t know what they put in it but holy crap! I had to order a second scoop cuz it was that damn good! Probably the best eating option at the PX and a definite upgrade from L&L. Just ensure you have plenty of time for the wait.

Schofield Barracks doesn’t have much food options. Top places to grab lunch here is dominos or subways. If you’re looking for a plate lunch, well you were pretty much out of luck. That is until Kiani’s set up a food stand here. A few weeks ago I ordered the garlic shrimp and it was delish. It was buttery and very flavorful. My only complaints were the price, $ 12 for a regular size plate. I wouldn’t mind paying that much but I was still hungry after devouring it. Consider this a light but tasty lunch. This afternoon we headed here after seeing the hot dog stand a few feet away didn’t have much to offer… I hate«guava» anything, only exception is if its juice, but I was convinced to order the guava chicken. The girl there offered us a sample and it was pretty good. The regular plate is $ 8 and comes with 3 pieces of decent sized chicken, 2 scoops of rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad or toss. Their chicken is more like barbecue chicken, there is only a hint of guava that you can taste if any at all. Location is right outside of the food court in the exchange mall right by the furthest right entrance. You’ll smell their food cooking off the grill once you enter the parking lot. To my knowledge this is the only place on base that you can get a plate lunch from. They serve minis for about $ 2 less than the regulars. They except cash only. My experience with the shrimp and guava chicken though is the minis are only good for bird eaters. I hope to see more spots like this come onto Schofield, definitely a great break from the mediocre lunch you need to put up with here.
