Denny’s

I’ve been coming to Schiller Park location for years. Most of the time I get great service and food. However, couple of times I expirance horrible service. I would say it either hit or miss with servers.

Large proportions but rather consistent. Can also count on staff standing around and having loud conversations. It’s bright and fairly clean. There nacho dish is huge and great for a snack to be shared.

Maybe I’m spoiled being from L.A., when it comes to customer service. But I can’t imagine it’s good service to seat someone, then show up ten minutes later with a menu, hovering over them while they are supposed to immediately choose what they want to eat…

The food is consistent with every other Denny’s. Not anything special about it, however they are open ²⁴⁄₇. The service has been great even at the odd hours of the night. They are open to make substitutions if you are vegetarian or want your food made a certain way. If you’re craving breakfast at 4 am, I would suggest it. If it’s not 4 am, try to find a brunch place :)

Awful place:
The food was ok, not until I found a hair in my broccoli. I asked the waiter to change for me, after few minutes he gave the same plate I have before. I saw only the broccoli has been changed, maybe they just take out the hair and re-​boil the broccoli. After that, I began to examine the surrounding, the floor was dirty, the smell was …
After I paid the bill with credit card, the cashier asked me do you want to leave a tip on the receipt.
This is the first review I ever write, I have been to Denny’s before, but this is the worst Denny’s I ever been to. The place is dirty, the service was terrible.

Service was awful and slow. Wasn’t even that busy and it took forever for us to get our food. We even ordered a dessert that we never got. My husband finished all of his food before I even got half of the Slam I ordered, the pancakes. On top of that the food that I had was mediocre at best. Not worth the wait, and I won’t be back.

Denny’s was able to accommodate and customize an order to our preference. Staff is great, especially *Maria*, who truly understands customer service. Food quality is equivalent to all the Denny’s I’ve been to but the service is the differentiator.

I definitely have to say that I was not expecting the food to be so dang good. impressive actually. I’m not a dennys fan for we don’t really have many in atlanta bt up north on the way to Chicago we saw so many so I jus had to try it and I’m glad I did. We ordered breakfast even tho the entire menu looked delicious and our meal was so good. I will go back.

Really BAD service, rude and careless waitress, it’s been 5 times in a row that we waited almost 1 HOUR after we order to get our food. They really need to hire more efficient personeel or new management. We won’t come back.

Come here a lot on nights I’m hungry after work. Honestly, I’ve almost never had an issue with the service. I’ve had multiple different servers but they’ve all been accommodating and nice. The food is good too.

Extremely terrible service. The waitress messed up the drink orders for our table of eight three times. Once we placed our order, it took an hour to get our food. The waitress never once apologized and just made excuses.
By the time it was delivered, the food was cold and the eggs were over cooked.
The manager was disconnected from his restaurant and didn’t even ask how our experience or food was when we were paying out bill.
Needless to say, I will never come back here.

Great menu items for light eaters, Server was very intention and funny her name was Lucy!!!

In all honesty the food is what you would expect at a place like this. but the staff is on a while new level of low. it took 20 minutes after I sat to drop off a cup of water and took my. order without writing anything down which is only opening a door for mistakes… I’ll still come here because it’s the only late night spot that’s open in my convenience. but damn atleast look like you care that’s all im asking

I’m impressed with how Denny’s has improved their customer service and their food. My husband and I go there a few times a year.
The salads are fresh. The dinners taste good. The meat dishes are not crappy cuts of meat… I don’t end up with a pile of gristle on my plate. That’s nice. Breakfast can’t be beat and those pancake pups are AWESOME!
Yes, I’ll be back at «America’s Diner!»

While on the way from the NW side of Elmwood Park to O’Hare, my nephew and I were in search of a place to stop for breakfast. Surprisingly, there are not a lot of places along the way other than stopping in a hotel. I realized that the Denny’s was one of the few so that’s where we ended up — not a place I’d usually hit for food as I typically find them mediocre at best.
But this one was OK. Service was prompt and the place looked fairly clean. We were given our beverages shortly after being seated and the server followed up right after to take our food order.
Breakfast was decent too — my nephew’s Grand Slam was good with him and my Chicken Fried Steak order was augmented with a dinner sized CFS as they were out of the breakfast size ones. No arguments there!
Overall, thumbs up and a place I’ll remember should I be in search of breakfast on that route again.

We’ve been to other Denny’s before, but never one as nice as this. Though I can only comment on our experiences after hours (we’ve been here several times as part of the late night crowd), but the location has always been clean, waitresses pleasant (we like Lucy!), and the cook has yet to fail to wow us. We really appreciated the attention given to our meals even though we stumbled in at 2am, and you can’t beat a hearty pancake breakfast meal for the price here.
As a side note — I always appreciate any establishment willing to make no fuss substitutions for their beef/​pork products as most in my dining party do not eat them. Being offered chicken sausage instead of the standard item was very thoughtful!

I have been to a few Denny’s restaurants and to be honest this is the only Denny’s where I like the food… This last time that I went, the service wasn’t the greatest, but other than that all the other times it has been pretty good.
I ordered the new prime rib salad, truth comes up! If your girl that likes to eat meat you should definitely order that.:-)

So much for second chances.
1. Door held open by yellow cone (floor not wet)
2. Someone at register area back to door. I came in and stood there not noticed.
3. Given a booth where I sunk in it.
4. Not done with my order, he turns and starts putting it in.
5. Coffee cup has coffee stains on outside before I use it.
The «Duchess» has left the building not to return.

I didn’t have a very good experience on both occasions that I’ve visited this restaurant. The first time, the wait for the food took forever. The waitress explained that the cook called off and the manager was the one cooking the food. The most recent time, we ordered banana walnut pancakes. The food was cold. So we requested a fresh order. The manager brought out the pancakes without the bananas and then stated that they ran out of bananas. You would think that they would have adjusted the bill without a hassle. Nope. Not at this Denny’s. Next time, I’ll opt for IHOP.

This Denny’s is the nicest in the area. Its close to the airport so its seems to attract a more reasonable crowd than neighboring Denny’s (that is to say, you don’t get the overwhelming feeling you might be stabbed with your grandslam).
Its a midsized Denny’s, its clean, its cheap. Enjoy.
