New Dragon Garden Restaurant

This is the best Chinese Take-​out Restaurant in the area and is my go to place when I’m home with a craving. A hidden GEM for Chinese Take-​out. Their food food is a lot better than their competitors and consistent to boot. The prices are very reasonable and borderline cheap with large portion sizes.
I would recommend trying out their Singapore mei fun (as someone already mentioned) especially if you like curry and spice. Their General Tso Chicken is pretty good, I always ask for extra crispy. Love their pork and shrimp egg rolls. Writing this review is making me hungry. lol

Ordered delivery, which was on time. The pork egg roll tasted sour and was probably cheap store-​bought frozen. The crab Rangoon was the worst I have ever had and the secechuan beef was not worth talking about. I recommend trying somewhere else before ordering here.

This is our go to Chinese delivery in the area. Overall they are pretty good. We’ve had a few nights when the food was a bit disappointing but I’d say ⁴⁄₅ times it’s delicious. The delivery is always reasonably quick and their prices are fair.
The Singapore mei fun is a good option if you like the spicier side of food. Their General Tso’s chicken is a solid option. They have wontons with spicy garlic sauce which is delicious most times.
Overall, out of the places we’ve tried for delivery locally this is the place we keep coming back to. We’ve picked up once or twice and the location is small with no real tables to eat in at, so if you plan on giving it a try plan on taking it to go.

Dragon Garden is small Chinese takeout restaurant located in the Shaker Pine Plaza at the corner of Vly Rd/​Watervliet Shaker Rd/​New Karner Rd (Route 155) in Colonie, about 2 minutes north of the 5 and 155 intersection. The zip code 12 309 (Schenectady/​Niskayuna) at this location is a bit odd since Schenectady is quite a ways from here.
The place is order at the counter with open kitchen and a few tables for eating in. They offer the standard Chinese dishes including Cantonese, Szechuan, and Hunan dishes, plus diet steamed dishes too. 50 Lunch Specials (everyday until 3PM) served with white of fried rice ($ 4.70-$ 5.15) and 28 Special Combination Plates served with pork fried rice and egg roll ($ 6.65-$ 7.45). Most dishes are priced under $ 10 with a few specialties including some seafood dishes, subgum wonton, and roast duck priced under $ 13. No MSG is added to the food
I’ve stopped in here recently (2 Chinese ladies running the kitchen) and ordered S16 Combination ($ 6.65 plus tax): Roast Pork Lo Mein with Pork Fried Rice & Egg Roll each time. The good portion of food (just the right size) was hot and tasty. The lo mein here has a good mix of vegetables, scallions, and tender roast pork strips in soft noodles. The fried rice (tan color) has lean roast pork cubes and diced carrots. The egg roll (thick crispy wrapper) has a decent amount of cabbage and ground pork.
The food was very good. Next time I stop at Dragon Garden for takeout, I’ll have to try some Szechuan Shrimp and Orange Flavor Chicken to go with the lo mein.
