This place is closing on Saturday for good… Good bye to a great bar… Thanks for all the good time.

Went for lunch on a Friday. Place was 30% full. I had the short rib sandwich for lunch with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was very good but the fries were just average. Waitress was very attentive and keep up on my refills. Overall I would give this place a try again in the future.

Smaller than it looks from outside! There are tons of tvs in here, so it’d be a great place to watch a game. The bar looks nice, but my husband and I came here mostly for lunch. We came in on a Saturday afternoon and there was a special on mini domestic beer pitchers for $ 5(essentially two beers worth). It was adorable and hit the spot perfectly on this humid summer day. I ordered the caramelized onion, mushroom and blue cheese flatbread. He ordered the hot wing grilled cheese. The flatbread was decent. The actual crust was a little crunchier than I imagined and not seasoned whatsoever, so if you got a bite with just crust it was very bland. I probably wouldn’t order that item again, but it wasn’t bad! I tried my husband’s lunch and it was delicious!!! The hot sauce was just hot enough to tickle your taste buds and I thoroughly enjoyed my few bites. It came with tator tots on the side which were decent, but not the best I’ve ever had(see Rack House Arlington Heights). Overall, I would say the environment was modern and comfortable and the service was very friendly. I’m interested in coming back for a late night visit to see how it is as a bar or coming back to watch a game to see how comfortable it is with more guests.

This bar and grill may or may not be the definition of mediocre. Can’t speak to the food, but quite frankly, nothing about it seems to stand out to me. Can think of other places that I would rather eat. Service is quite slow — be prepared to be seated right away, but spend some time waiting for your server to bring you anything. This occurs even on weeknights when the entire place is half full at best, and because of this I wouldn’t stop in on a weekend or a busier night. I will say the servers are always nice; I’ve never gotten anything but pleasantness from the ladies and they never have a problem splitting the check. Their dining room is mainly hightop tables, and overall the inside has a chill atmosphere. Big TVs, too, for you sportsball fans. This establishment’s saving grace is the drink specials. While pretty common for other bars in the area(Westwood Tavern has this same deal on Mondays), domestic bottles are $ 2 on Wednesdays. Being located practically right across the street from my office, I’m here often with coworkers, and will continue to be back for drinks. Perhaps I’ll even brave the food!

Favorite bar and grill in the area. The buffalo chicken grilled cheese and the fish tacos are just fantastic. A great stop for before or after movie drinks as it is right beside the huge AMC Streets of Woodfield. Sometimes it seems the servers forget about you. I’ve had a few not come back for what seemed like 45 minutes at a time while my soda was empty. It’s really a toss up with the servers. Good food is worth it thought. Or maybe I just love grills and beer with convenient movie theater proximity.

Wish I could give no stars. This place is AWFUL. came for drinks with coworkers and received disgraceful service. Caitlyn was rude and absent most of the night. Told us it was a pain in the ass to split up our checks. Took forever to get service, we could never seem to find her and they’re weren’t busy at all. Stella came in a chipped glass had to flag down the busboy because Caitlyn was not around. She didn’t come to apologize nor did the manager. Pizza is HORRENDOUS, totally a frozen pizza. Started going to the bar to get drinks because we couldn’t find her and she got mad, brought us our checks and said she was no longer serving us. We told her we never saw her and she just walked away. Manager Artie just stood there and did nothing. Will be contacting the owner.

Extremely rude and disrespectful manager and wait staff. Waitress never came to check up, had to get up and look for waitress in order to get any service in slow, half empty restaurant. A complaint to the manager was met with a rude response and a visit from the waitress who came to confront us for speaking to her manager. Don’t bother coming here. Better places around in the area. Very obvious why the place is always half empty.

Really looked forward to go out and spend time with all my buddies(10 total) 5 different couples on a Friday night. walked in nice and clean. Not busy. The host was really cool(guy). Sat us right away… Blonde, curly haired waitress comes by and made it clear that if it was more than a group of 8 people, you cant use separate checks… okay whatever lets go i’m starving… I told the lady can you take my order right away, I really can’t wait… Bacon burger(MEDIUM)… she came back later to take everyone order… Food comes out. I’m the last guy to get his food when I ordered right away. I’m a little«hangry» to start. My burger is well done… I’m like whatever i’m starving… The burger wasn’t special. Then she brings out a pizza that tastes literally like a larger version of a «lunchable». My girlfriend had a chicken wrap that was dry and tasteless. Thankfully, I ordered a beer which they can’t prepare. After that the waitress was nowhere to be seen. NOW I STARTTOGETUPSETWHENTHESERVICEISBAD! Let i remind you. there is really not any people in the«restaurant» except for a handful of the people at the bar. NEVER Comes back once to check on us. Ready to leave, the blonde curly girl brings out a scroll of all our orders and drinks on 1 check… «She goes, okay i’ll you guys figure it out!» She comes back while were trying to divide the bill which is taking FOREVER! I say, «Wow you really didn’t make this easy for us.» She goes with a extremely loud/annoying voice, «WELL I TOLDYOUGUYSWHENYOUWALKEDINTHISISWHATWEDO. «She leaves AGAIN. She comes back and I said, «okay, here’s all the cards and here are all the totals, are you gonna write those down?» She looks at me at yell, «LISTENDON’T BERUDE!!! and you can’t treat me like this?» I’m shocked and said okay, «DON’T fuck it up» Brings the checks, and she charged 3 people differently… I go, «SEE!» She then tells me to please leave. I said, I WILLAND I’LLNEVERBEBACK. Service is key… food may suck but it can made up by good service. Horrible experience. Went straight to Beer Market

Drinks descent price and food descent as well. We stayed there late and the waitress was very bitchy because we asked her to check the bill. Since they had closed she was not having it! As a loyal customer I don’t appreciate the rudeness. Customer service does matter. Won’t come here as often.

I came here to meet up some buddies after a long day of work on a Tuesday. They have $ 2 draft specials on Tuesday, which is awesome! I ordered a few different types of beers and enjoyed all of them and still had money left over for some food. I ended up ordering the philly cheesesteak sandwich and a cup of chili. The food was pretty good. With all the TV’s playing different sports games, and the beer special and good food, this place is a a nice spot to chill at with your buddies. To top it off, the service is fast and friendly. Drop by and check it out for yourselves!

Corner bar and grill all high top tables flat screen Tvs everywhere Pros Beacon burger with egg big and tasty medium well fresh seasoned fries Lobster Mac and cheese looks small but it’s a pretty good size gooey and plenty of lobster pieces Spanish and artichoke dip plenty of warm pita bread Flank steak cascades huge four pieces with pico digiao They have a full stocked bar Server Chris was a very attentive guy. Made sure we we’re good and recommended a good suggestion of medium we’ll burger it was juicy I liked it Cons It’s a snug space between tables we we’re seated by the bar and right next to another couple that a clear half glass wall separated us but you can literally have a conversation with each other like a table of four. The place was also pretty dark so you couldn’t really see your food. I think the Tvs light was your light. Overall good experience I would come here for dinner then walk over to see a movie!

Tried Wickets for the first time today and really liked it. Conveniently located next to AMC Loews theater, if you bring your ticket stub you can get a free flatbread. Will definitely keep that in mind in the future. In terms of appearance and atmosphere, it seems like a typical sports bar. Lots of TVs and indoor and outdoor seating. I got the lunch special and chose the Grilled Chicken Tikka sandwich and the soup of the day, which was Chipotle Chicken Chowder. LOVED the soup. Probably my favorite soup I’ve tried ever. Absolutely loved it. The sandwich was pretty good but I would have liked it to be more flavorful. It is marinated in tikka tandoori spices and comes with cucumber chive yogurt sauce. Because of the spices I had thought it would be more flavorful than it actually was and the yogurt sauce made it a bit messy to eat. The lunch special was a good deal; sandwich and soup/salad for $ 11.50. Looking the menu, the sandwich would normally be $ 10.50 and a cup of soup $ 4.50−5.50. Overall, would like to come back here. There’s a lot of options on the menu that sound really good!

I went to Wickets for the first time yesterday. It was over 80 degrees and a cucumber vodka cocktail on the patio was in order. I ordered the Italian chicken pesto panini and it was AMAZING. The fries were great, our server was very attentive and overall my experience was wonderful. This is probably a great place to watch the Blackhawks although I left right before the game. Will be back once I’m in Schaumburg area again!

Came into watch Rangers vs. Flyers Game 6. Well, the game was a total disaster, but the experience was pretty good. They had about 20 draft beers, which is a big plus in my book. I was also impressed with their liquor selection, which included Bushmill’s Irish whiskey. I started off with calamari for an app. It wasn’t too greasy and came out crispy, which are two musts for good calamari. It came with a decent marinara sauce. Pretty good starter. I ordered the south of the border burger with roasted poblanos, Monterey jack, pico, avocado mayo. Oh btw, I added bacon! The flavors came together great. I really like roasted poblanos anyway and the smokiness worked really well. The burger came out somewhat juicy, looked like it was medium-well. I could have used a little more pico and I barely tasted the avocado. The fries were fresh cut and seasoned well. I don’t have French fries too much now, but these were tremendous! The TV’s are large and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Even though it’s an upscale sports bar, they play music over the speakers even while games are on. That’s a problem. At least put the audio of some game on. Even better, invest in some table top speakers so each guest can hear audio of the game they want. But it’s still a pretty solid place to hang out and have a drink.

Came here for drinks and apps with some friends, its a great bar for watching sports as they have a lot of tvs around. I’ve heard the food is good, but since we just got appetizers i can’t really judge from that

I’ve been here twice now, and I have to say I’m impressed. The food is really tasty! The pita sandwiches are great, and the tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons is a perfect comfort food meal, even just the cup. The cocktails are good, as well. All in my group were happy with what they got and are definitely looking forward to another after work outing. They have a lot of specials throughout the week, too. The atmosphere is definitely sports bar, which is a bummer cuz I don’t care about sports, but I’m guessing it’s a nice change of pace for sports fans to go to a sports bar and not be stuck eating mozzarella sticks and hot wings.

We stopped in before a movie to grab a quick something. We didn’t have lunch and knew after the movie we’d be getting dinner. We met Travis, the bartender. Nice guy. He talked about some of the foods and it sounds like they do things right. We ordered the meatball appetizer. We got the Swedish version. It was very good.

Wicket’s Bar and Grill is at the Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg, Illinois. You can find it across from the parking garage. Years ago, Dick Clark’s Diner was in the same spot. The restaurant that followed Dick’s was shut down by the health department(according to our very chatty and amusing waiter). It seems neither place lasted very long. Hopefully that won’t be true of Wicket’s. I stopped at Wicket’s on a Monday afternoon when the place was almost empty. At the time I dined in, I saw a handful of corporate types and retired people. Wicket’s is small and most of the seating is on high bar stools. I’m a little lady but I managed to boost myself up onto the seat without assistance. I’m more for booth seating, but this place is a bar so it’s fine as-is. All around me were televisions of various sizes showing sports channels. The television near the bar was particularly huge, about the size of an entire wall. For my drink, I ordered the Grapetini, which is a grape martini. It was a bit weak for my liking. It tasted mostly like grape juice. If I return to Wicket’s, I hope for a stronger martini. The lunch item I ordered was the Char-grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich with Fries. The sandwich was served on lightly toasted ciabatta bread, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken was tender, juicy, and rubbed in herbs. The herbs provided nice, mild flavoring. On the side, I was given a white sauce for the sandwich, which I presume was a cucumber sauce. It wasn’t advertised in the menu listing. The Fries were quite salty and had me drinking all night. In all, I really enjoyed my lunch and the friendly atmosphere at Wicket’s. I hope Wicket’s avoids the fate of its predecessors. It is an inviting bar with good food and a convenient stop after a movie nearby. I would return when I am in the area again sometime.

I think I have told just about everyone I have talked to this week, about Wickets: my new favorite place in Schaumburg. I’m sooooooooo happy my sister talked me into making this our dinner choice Saturday night. I have to say, I was shocked that the line wasn’t out the door. I think they just have a crappy location. Don’t worry, Wickets, your time will come. They are alllllllll reading my Unilocal review and they will come. I promise.(well, no guarantee, but I’m gonna try) First glacé, I love the atmosphere. A very nice, clean, relaxing atmosphere with a TV every 6 inches. Perfect place to get the boys to come when us ladies wanna enjoy some nice dinner. About 5 minutes in, I looked at my sister and I have to say, its just so cozy in here. I love it! We were just here for some apps and possibly dinner depending on how the apps went and then we were going to be off to another place for a cocktail or two, but somehow, we just couldn’t leave this place. Aimee greeted us with her sparkling personaliy and smiling face and she knew that we had a plan. We started with an app of calamari. We enjoyed every single bite. It was fresh. It was delicious. It had jalapeño slices breaded and mixed in. Creative and spicy!!! Very innovative. Gold star for Wickets! My sister had been going on and on about their chicken soup since her visit the previous weekend. I’m a HUGE soup fan. She knows it and so does anyone that reads my reviews. If a place has good soup, they have Catherine P. as a patron. Simple as that. We ordered a cup of their soup and informed our server that we were going to share it. So splitting it, was a good option. Wait for it… she split it for us without us having to ask. Another Gold Star, that one’s for you, Aimee! Their soup has huge chunks of white meat, beautiful noodles, lovely veggies and a hint of lemon. Oh man, you didn’t know chicken soup could be such a topic for discussion, did you? Well, if you go to Wickets, and order yourself a cup(which is actually a bowl, I might add), you will know why I’m carryiing on like this. After the soup, we decided that dinner was not going to happen. We decided on trying out the Chicken Samosas. Something totally different and this is the place if I’m going to venture out of the norm. Everything just seems to be of higher quality, including the service. I was impressed. I’m so glad, this place is close to home. It almost seems Oak Brook-esque and I’m glad they chose Schaumburg’s Streets of Woodfield. I believe we will be going again Friday night and I can’t wait. The one and only flaw, ALL of their tables, are high tops, so I do not forsee bringing in any older, more fragile people from my family. I mean, I don’t see Grandma climbing up into one of their chairs. Perhaps, a thought for the future, Wickets.
