Fantastic baked goods, My first time there last weekend and the omelets were lovely.

Delicious! All breakfast sandwiches, but so much variety. Homemade biscuits & local GF bread as well as bagels and English muffins. Coffee is great, too. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. The space is very«cozy» so you might have to take your food to go.

Stopped here as a quick pitstop. All the locals seem to come here – the little place was overflowing with costumers we were outside the door. The wait was about 3 minutes. It’s relatively fast paced how quick the locals order. You can see that there’s something called the«Bennies», which my family is pretty sure is their take on the French beignets. My brothers got the 12 piece bennies to split, and the woman kindly offered to give them all three sauces(Maple Cinnamon, Blueberry and Chocolate). I got the Maple Cream Latte which was delicious – it’s not overly sweet but not lacking, either. My mother got the Ginger latte – claims it is «better than Starbucks». A little crowded, but worth it!

I came here to eat and do some work. So, I sat there for a few hours. Here are my observations: The Good: Very nice employees, really cool customers(people seem thoughtful and kind, having interesting conversations; no one is loudly talking on their cellphones, etc.). Not expensive. Clean. Seem to have a large and varied menu, including a gluten-free option, for people who need that, and are flexible about customizing. The Bad: My breakfast sandwich was so so bland. It’s like they’ve never heard of salt before. I had to doctor it with salt and hot sauce just to make it edible. The Ugly: The guy who runs it – either he is «Joe» or the general manager – is kind of a douche. In the several hours I was sitting there, while he was working, he was talking SO loudly and obnoxiously, and flirting with young female customers(dude, NOT a bar!), making fun of the accent of one of his employees(yes, dude, it’s just hilarious that for some people, English isn’t their first language!), talking to the new trainee about his biceps(there was a change of 3 inches in their size, apparently), and basically being obnoxious. So, just because of his grossness, I wouldn’t want to come back, which is too bad because everything else about the place seemed nice.

I live on Long Island(NY), home of the breakfast sandwich! But every trip to Maine includes [a few] morning stops at St. Joes. Easily the greatest breakfast sandwich(or wrap) in the state of Maine. Affordable, great staff, seasonal outside seating, and the food is always amazing.(I believe the chef’s name is Wes.) Definitely stop in here when you’re in town!

FINALLY had one of the storied breakfast sandwiches(the Ham & Wham) and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. The hype is legit. They’ve nailed breakfast & lunch; I’d go for dinner if they were open.

I could eat here 5 times a week and still crave it. It is THAT good. I really hope Scarborough locals become regulars and encourage their friends to try St. Joes as well. The location hasn’t always been a hit, but I genuinely hope this is the exception. Amazing sandwiches that are overflowing between the bread. *Pro Tip– add a hashbrown ON the breakfast sandwich.* Thank you guys for consistently making satisfying, fresh, scrumptious meals.

Love this place! Great food, and gluten free options for everything. The coffee is great, and the people working there are really kind and friendly. Their music is also on point.

Stopped in randomly for coffee and a quick breakfast. The setup is straight ahead and simple. Excellent coffee selection.(All Seacoast coffee) and they have a wide array of ice and custom offerings. Breakfast is a rather simple affair; a small menu of sandwiches served on biscuits or English muffins. They offer a hash brown as an add on but I didn’t grab one. The breakfast sandwich(I opted for the«smart start Roasted broccoli») are customizable. It was tasty and incredibly fast. I didn’t even get a chance to start on my coffee before it was ready. The muffin was tasty and flavorful. Again, pretty straight ahead fare done well. The cook was pleasant and offered some suggestions. Definitely a nice find. If I’m ever feeling like going big or going home, I’ll order their«Bennie’s», a take on Beignet’s. They sound lovely.

Five stars only because I can’t rate it 10. The southwestern breakfast sandwich and Americano coffee were amazing. You can save some calories by skipping the chocolate chip cookie(I wouldn’t skip it though).

Terrific local place with excellent coffee and amazing breakfast sandwiches. They have an excellent selection of straightforward and more creative options. We love their freshly made biscuits with their breakfast sandwiches. The coffee selection is excellent as are the breakfast and lunch options. The staff is friendly and engaging A strong recommend

I hesitate to write this because it’s one of my favorite little gems that not a lot of people know about … or so I thought! I went for lunch today and it was busting at the seams. Guess the secret is out. It’s a very small place, 3 or 4 tables and 3 seats at a very tiny bar area. I usually get a salad but today decided to try a wrap. I got the greek chicken wrap. It’s quite large, you could split it with someone & be satisfied but I challenge you to eat only ½! Pretty impossible. It was delicious! Chicken was cooked well with a good amount of feta, tomatoes & olives. The house made balsamic vinaigrette is also delicious. Whenever I go I cannot resist the Seacoast coffee. Today I enjoyed the swiss chocolate almond… absolutely delicious, you can taste the chocolate & almond, YUM! All restaurants should provide this coffee! They have so many chalkboard drink specials, I cannot even begin to list them & they change with the season. It’s really quite amazing how much they offer for such a small place. And just when you thought it could not get any better … there is a little surprise with every order. A melt in your mouth, bite size brownie. As crowded as it was, I only waited 10 minutes for my sandwich. If I wanted to eat there, it would have been a challenge as there was not one open seat. In the summer, you can sit outside at a picnic table, which I’ve also done & enjoyed. I would be remiss if I did not also mention the breakfast sandwiches. I’ve only had one because they are just too big & loaded w/fat & calories but oh so good. I tried the egg & cheese biscuit. Sounds simple but let me tell you it was very tasty & worth the xtra fat & calories. The biscuit was perfect. It was a nice indulgence but about once a year is all I can handle!

Update: Still five stars. They have paved their parking lot and added more spots. Still very small, but makes the coming and going and parking MUCH easier.

I have heard so much about this place and just got the opportunity to actualy visit the place. I tried Irish-chocolate coffee latte and bennie with chocolate sauce. It was so yummy! The place was very cozy and nice, the service was super friendly and quick. I came there the next day for a sandwich for brunch and it was perfect too.

I’ve been to this place many times but this experience was not good. Usually the food is excellent. I got a Cuban sandwich and it was horrible. It was loaded with hot relish that made it soggy and dripping down my arm. The pork that was on it was an inch thick! Something you’d eat with a fork & knife not on a sandwich. Way too much cheese. The sweet potato fries on the other hand were very good.

Love the breakfast sandwiches, coffee, iced tea. Those bennies? Pure sugar coma but worth it. Perfect for a morning recovery after a night out with anything on those biscuits. Or, chose healthier options with the egg white items. Been here twice for breakfast, once for lunch. All three times have been delicious.

It’s nice to go to a local coffee place that has good coffee and food. My first visit here. They offer several types of drip coffee(bold, medium, light, flavored, decaf, etc.). I had bold drip coffee and found it more flavorful than the typical Starbucks bold. They have a lot of espresso drinks too. I also had a egg, cheese, and sausage biscuit. Really great! Worth the visit for one of these alone! Plenty of other choices and a kids’ menu too. Casual surrounding with picnic tables to sit outdoors. Very limited indoor seating. Friendly service too!

I love this place. Let’s start with the fact that they will adulterate your redbull with flavors. Sometimes I need a little sunshine in my life — AND it comes with a straw, lid, and ice plus the rest of the redbull for easy morning commuting.(I do drink a redbull while my coffee cools to drinkable temperatures. Caffeinate and dominate, people!) …It’s the little things. I have always gotten great coffee here, the reason we are at 4 stars and not 5 is: — atmosphere: this place needs a face lift — regulars: some of the regulars are kind of rude/defensive of their window seats — quality of baked goods: if you aren’t there bright and early you may suffer a not-so-soft donut — parking: while its not street parking by any means, its sometimes hard to find a spot in the lot, especially if people are parking one car between what could be two spots. otherwise, this place is delightful and if you can get over all of those menial things, its worth a trip in, for sure.

I LOVE this place, but I just can’t give them 5 stars. Half the staff is super nice, the other half always seem annoyed and stressed. For lunch, my coworkers and I would often order from St. Joe’s, I’m talking a couple times a week. Some days I felt like I was a nuisance for ordering a handful of sandwiches and asking to pay for each one separately, other days I was greeted warmly and felt like a valued return customer. I just have a gripe with the customer service there sometimes, it feels like it’s really hit or miss depending on who’s working. On to the food. St. Joe’s Coffee is a true hidden gem, they have the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had in my entire 26 years of existence. Their lunch sandwiches are just as equally delicious. For breakfast, the fixings are mixed in with the egg so it’s like a delicious omelet wedged between these giant fluffy biscuits. The sandwich ends up being huge, more than enough to keep you full, and for under $ 5 it’s a steal in my opinion. For lunch I always get either the ABLT(avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato) or falafel sandwich, both ah-mazing. If they’re not too busy, they include a cute little brownie square with your lunch sandwich. They also have unique and yummy coffee/latte flavors that vary depending on the season. Basically, if you’re looking for a fresh, delicious and relatively inexpensive breakfast or lunch, hit up St. Joe’s!

I remember when the pottery place moved out and we saw this building, «off the beaten track» of Payne Road, being renovated and we wondered… would they make it? Is there enough traffic to support it? The answer is yes, and in great part to what an awesome little spot it is. They have thier own parking lot, very nice. Everything is cooked to order, perfect. The biscuits… oh the biscuits! The«bread» product can make or break a sandwich and man, these biscuits MAKE it. Toasted crisp and pillowy soft inside. They have a nice assortment of coffee, teas and all kinds of drinks, check. But for me, the options for dairy free, nut free, soy free, gluten free… special diet frienly is the biggest winner! The staff is great, and yes, they can get a bit of a line, but they are always friendly and smiling. There is a small area to sit and amazingly, I have never had one of the donuts that they are actually known for! Stop in, take it in and enjoy.
