The fries with pulled pork and cheese — it is not really cheese and more like a cheese sauce, but that doesn’t take away from the tastiness. Excellent burgers, including the veggie. Friendly service, good tacos and they will bring your order next door to the bar if you ask them to.

I really wanted to like this place. It’s kind of a funky location in a building with the American Legion Hall and its good olé’ All American fare! But after counter service and then a 35 minute wait for food, we were so starving I have a hard time distinguishing between good and just damn hungry! My $ 10 Fire in the Hole burger was covered with canned jalapenos and processed cheese food and on a cold grilled bun– but you know what… the damn burger part of it was so good that it was actually alright! My wife’s burger and onion rings were $ 13.50 and they charged us $ 2.25 for a water on ice in a fountain cup! Ended up being over $ 32 with tip for a decent grilled burger with fairly poor extras. Eh… not sure I’d do it again!

A nice inexpensive diner with a great 1940s WWII theme. Great food, and they will load every plate up with a side of fries or chips and salsa. A great alternative to some of the downtown restaurants in Savannah that charge an arm and a leg. The wait staff dresses in a retro style which is awesome! I had the ultimate chicken sub, which was amazing. My wife had the pulled pork, which was also delicious. There was some great WWII U.S. Military propaganda on the walls, which contributed to a unique atmosphere.

This place definitely does not have the best burgers in Savannah. After reading so many good reviews, I wanted to try this place for dinner but I didn’t leave feeling the same way as other reviewers. I ordered the Bomber burger with cheese with all the toppings. I choose spicy queso as my cheese. It was like a normal American burger with nothing really extra ordinary. I got fries as my side with Basil Aioli. They were thin cut fries and the basil Aioli tasted good with them. My friend ordered the«Fire in the Hole» burger. If you like spicy burgers, this is your best choice. Again, I didn’t think it was anything extra ordinary though. He got Chips and Salsa as the side. The salsa tasted homemade and was pretty good. The service was good and the cashier was helpful too. But in my opinion, the burgers are really expensive and are not worth the price.

Good food and amazing milkshakes. The fries and burger were not the best I’ve ever had, but still decent. The ambiance is really fun and unique. I would visit again every once in a while, but it wouldn’t be something that I’d go out of my way for.

Ambiance-check Burgers-check Awesome and quick, a good throwback joint. Grab a beer at Legion when you are done. It’s a win/win

We had amazing service and great food for a reasonable price. A refreshing lunch in a city that is often a lot of rich food for a pretty penny. We really enjoyed our meal.

Okay, I’ve got to clear the air here. I’ve read a lot of the reviews and have tried it myself based upon them. I think that this place emphasizes quantity over quality. The food is decent, but in no way is it worth a 4 – 5 star rating. I ordered Nachos and a Philly-Cheese steak sandwich and both had the same packaged, liquid cheese. The nachos had mounds of beef that tasted very similar to Taco Bell. So with that, if you’re looking for a surplus of food and a decent atmosphere go here. If you’re looking for great food, ‘this aint it’. lol

burger, philly cheese steak sandwich, and chilly lime chicken tacos in our group and they were all great. Really nice folks behind the counter. Love the theme.

Classic, American food. Burgers, milkshakes, fries, etc. I had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich — it was delicious! The fries are shoestring style, not my favorite, but cooked perfectly. I had a strawberry milkshake — the flavor was kind of flat but my friend raved about her chocolate shake. Patriotic, WWII homage interior, a fun place to grab a bite. I’ll go back.

This place is perfect if you’re looking for cheap good food. I was a little scared when I walked in since the place is very old looking inside but it’s set up to look like an old diner. We got the chicken and fries and they were both perfect. The fries were nice and thin and the chicken fingers were perfectly breaded. The only thing that isn’t perfect would be there homemade sauces. The service is great though and the bathrooms are very clean. It’s a little confusing when you first walk in but don’t worry the foods great!

Really good Americana food! Different location in the American Legion building with no signs to restaurant but we found it by the music! Super cute 40’s inspired restaurant with little Betty waitresses! Will come again definitely …

Great local joint, with friendly service and tasty food. Great supporting mom and pop off the tourist beat. If you are ever in the area and looking for good old American burger, wings and shake this a great joint to fill your hunger needs.

Finally decided to give this place a try this since it’s close to work, and I felt like indulging in a cheat meal. Simple restaurant with a great traditional American dive bar type of menu. The walls are ornamented with traditional WWII posters and photographs, and the hostess even had a cute 1940’s hairstyle. I ordered the Chicken Cheesesteak sandwich & fries, and it was tasty! The desserts all sounded delish too, but I just didn’t have any room left.

Oh my stars and garters! As far as classic American diner-food goes, this is the bee’s knees. We had cheesesteaks and a chicken-tender fries baskets and they were both the absolute bombshell. Betty’s sports the 1940s aesthetic that is so much in vogue in Savannah, and pulls it off perfectly. The WW2 paraphernalia is appropriate, considering it’s in the American Legion Hall. You can also bring in drinks from Legion 185, right next door. Prices are very reasonable, and the servings are large. This was one of the best meals we had during our visit, and I only wished I had a larger stomach so that I could have eaten more of it!

I like the upgrades that Betty Bombers has made. The kitchen looks more organized and easier to manage. This place is really a gastro pub with the(American Legion) bar next door starring sweet service Sara and the Betty staff who deliver the food in an interesting style. Very refreshing with so many top dollar choices to just relax and people watch a bit. Great service and food in a relaxing envirionment = RESPECT and you can count me in.

This was by far, the best burger I’ve had in Savannah. I was so taken by Betty Bomber’s cute and nostalgic décor, their super friendly and trendy staff, and the simple, unassuming plates with larger than life flavor. The Mustang was a hearty, tasty, and very satisfying burger. It had onion crisps, gooey cheddar cheese and house made BBQ sauce. Fresh veggies made me feel a little less guilty for eating every last bit of my burger. Tip: I tried one of their special sauces for my fries. Basil aioli has my heart now! A burger and fries might cost you a little more here than your typical joint – around $ 13 for the meal and a drink – but it was well worth the buck. Service was quick and helpful, and the period appropriate music made me reminisce to the old days. Well, at least what I imagined them to be! Just a skip away from Forsyth Park in the American Legion, Betty Bombers has been on my to-go list for way too long. I’m so glad I popped in today. For everyone that says Savannah doesn’t do local: you haven’t eaten where I have! Try it out and tell me if you fall in love too.

I had the Classic Bomber burger, my friends had the Philly cheesesteak. We were glad to find a place to eat and it’s a bit weird as far as location. You have to walk into the American Legion building, and they have a very good WWII aesthetic to the restaurant. Even the ladies working there are dressed in era clothing and really friendly. The meat in the burgers was great and tasted amazing. I got the queso on mine but they lathered it on and it was very very messy. The queso was good and complemented the burger really well too. The fries were a little soft and you could tell they were sitting in the warmer for a bit. The atmosphere was still great and the staff was still friendly.
