Lam’s Chinese

Terrible and dirty no effort at all bathrooms were disgusting. We had the buffet and it was all hours old and dry.

This may have been the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. It tasted like a sock drawer. No flavor and it was cold. It took 90 minutes to deliver (5 minutes away) and I essentially threw all the food away. I called to ask for a refund and the manager was rude and was non accommodating. DO NOT EVER EAT HERE.

I hadn’t tried Lam’s for a very long time. Probably five to ten years. The reason being being? The food was not like any Chinese food I had eaten before. Bland and taken straight from the freezer to the fryer. I am referring to the general Tso’s Chicken.
So, fast forward to six months ago. I decided to try Lam’s once again. It was pretty good. We had beef lomein and shrimp egg foo young delivered. We did this at least once more in the next few months. Still pretty good.
Ok, now to today’s order. I am talking to the order taker (older Chinese lady, I could tell over the phone) and she kept asking me to repeat the items in ordering. We ordered for delivery, beef lomein, general Tso’s Chicken, egg drop soup, fried dumplings, a shrimp egg roll and what was supposed to be 4 Pork egg rolls. We got 1 egg roll. The fried dumplings were actually deep fried as opposed to pan fried and again I could tell they came straight from the freezer. Same with the general Tso’s Chicken. Tempura battered frozen Chunks of chicken. The beef lomein was cold as was the general tso’s. The egg drop soup was tasty but that was the best part of the meal. And since when does lomein come with broccoli?

Solid 3 stars. Classic example of Americanized Chinese food. The beef wasn’t terrible like some reviews mentioned, definitely not high grade angus sirloin lol but classic tenderized beef slices. The vegetables were well cooked, still pretty crisp with just the right amount of soft bite. The hunan beef does not come with black bean sauce. Every other chinese place I’ve been to adds it. They added it in as a courtesy for me which was nice! My wife thought the cream cheese wontons were horrible, the worst she’s had in her opinion. They do not make their own eggrolls and use frozen ones. The fried rice was good but the shrimp in hers was of the small variety that is not cleaned of the vein. Many people are ok with this, I prefer larger shrimp that are cleaned even if the shrimp is then cut into bite sized pieces. There was a good amount of shrimp in the rice which was good. The portions were good sized and a good value for the price. Beef Lomein, Beef Hunan combo plate, Quart Shrimp Fried Rice, and cream cheese wontons were $ 33 and change for everything. They were super fast cooking the take out!
I’m pretty sure they use msg but forgot to ask, but they don’t say that they don’t use it like many places do so I’m pretty sure they do. It kind of tasted like it but its been a pretty long time since Ive had msg that I’m not 100 sure, lol.
Overall not even close to my favorite Chinese place but it will do in a pinch if I have a jones for Chinese and they are the closest place.

The food tasted unlike any Chinese cuisine I have ever had, and not in a good way. The lo mein and chow mein were both soupy and flavorless, all giant soggy vegetables and next to no meat. It was inedible so we literally just threw $ 40 away. Never again.
Update: husband just threw up.

This food was absolutely horrendous. Without a doubt the WORST beef I have ever had the displeasure of tasting. I ordered the Mongolian beef and the steam pork dumplings. I am NOT exaggerating when I say this food was nigh to tasteless. The somewhat funny thing about this is, if terrible food that you paid for is ever funny, is that they ask you on a scale from 1 to 4 how spicy you would like it. I asked for 4 and not only was there no spice but barely a taste to it at all. If I’m being completely honest the beef itself was quite nasty. Heaven forbid you order it on a level of 1, I’m sure what you would be putting in your mouth would have the taste of grey matter– nothing. The only redeeming factor of this meal was the onions, they provided the meal with a twinge of flavor that it was desperately lacking. Overall I was very disappointed with my meal to say the least. Truly the worst Chinese food I have ever been unfortunate enough to call a ‘meal’. It filled a space in my stomach I suppose, but outside of that it’s useless. I will not go back, I will not order again, and for Christ’s sake, if you’re reading this, this is forewarning. DO NOT pick up that phone or get in your car and get the food here. You’ll find food with better flavors dumpster-​diving — I assure you.

I love finding gems like this! Hot and sour soup was excellent. Shrimp in black bean sauce was flavorful and rich. What a find!
