I’m actually a new member of the ILKB studio in Saugus and have only gone once(my next time will be tomorrow, I promise!). I was impressed enough to sign up on the spot. I hate to exercise. Seriously, HATEIT. I had a great time at my first lesson. They studio reserves only 2 spots for new students and gives them private instruction during the class to assist them with techniques. I’m nervous about my first class tomorrow without private attention but the instructors there are great! They encourage without demanding and make sure you know to listen to your body. I’m HORRIBLY out of shape but they didn’t make me feel bad when I couldn’t do jumping jacks during the first 15 — 20 minutes of the class, which is a solid cardio push. They were very clear to listen to your body. If you need to stop and take a drink of water, they’re okay with it and will NOT shame you. This is one of my biggest fears with starting these sort of classes. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the studio and the schedule of classes(so many to chose from!). The classes have a set structure, so you know what to expect. They start with cardio, then you stretch, then you do some kicking and boxing on the bag, then you do teamwork with a partner and then, finally, you stretch again. I recommend signing up for one of the startup sets and getting the free set of gloves if they’re being offered. If you know someone who is going to a studio, have them take you to your first class, but even if you go it alone(as I did), you’ll have plenty of fun while you get healthy!

Ilkb is the place to be! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely want to see you succeed. The studio is clean and pretty spacious. If the music doesn’t get you going, the staff will! Great work out and a lot of fun — The class starts out with different cardio intervals to get your blood pumping and then moves into different kickboxing moves. I highly recommend Ilkb if you are looking for a fun but effective workout!

If you’re looking for a great, effective and fun workout, I highly recommend ILoveKickboxing! I’ve been a member of the Saugus location for over 3 months now and I absolutely love it. My friend recommended it to me so I thought I’d check it out since I never feel motivated to go to the gym and always wanted to try kickboxing. I started with a groupon and became a member after my first class. It’s a lot of fun compared to working out at a gym because the instructors are amazing and always make class challenging. Every class is a little different which is great and the hour will fly by really quick. I’m a fan of the early morning class and feel energized throughout the day. It’s definitely my cup of coffee! The results will come quick if you’re consistent. My arms are more defined and I feel stronger and a lot more flexible. I’m so glad I found this place!

I have done kickboxing at another facility, but my back has been a mess for the past couple of years so I had to take off 6 months. Then I got a new job and found this location was good for me, so I bought a groupon. I’m very happy with this location, the instructors, etc. I also like that the classes are a full hour, my body sometimes doesn’t like that… but my pants sure do. One darn good workout and if you’re someone who’s not«in shape», not to worry as you go at your own pace w/in the class, you just have to do as many X as you can w/in the timeframe they tell you. But the instructors have plenty of enthusiasm, so it’ll keep you moving and motivated.

I’m addicted. There is no other workout that makes me feel as accomplished, empowered and fit as kickboxing. I’ve trained at 3 different ILKB studios over the past 3.5 years; Johnston(RI), Quincy and now I’m at Saugus. And I still love it. The trainers here are great. They know how to get you motivated and push you to do your personal best. They are kind and welcoming to people coming in at all levels of fitness. Don’t get me wrong; it’s a tough workout. But that is the point: do your best and do a little better every time. This ain’t no planet fitness, thankfully! For the reviewer hating on the folks from Quincy… boo! Those people are awesome. And this place is far more clean than any gym I’ve been to. Like I said, I’ve been doing this for 3.5 years: I lost 60 lbs, kept it off, and ILKB has been essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. And the Saugus location keeps me where I need to be!

I have been going to Kickboxing for 4 Months now and although it’s a fantastic workout I would not recommend the Saugus site. A number of trainers have been fired and the place has turned into a zoo. Some of new instructors(which I think are from Quincy) are very unprofessional and chaotic. They have started a couple classes late because they were busy pushing people into signing up for membership. They no longer clean between the 6 and 7:45pm class so the mats are covered with hair and sweat. The place is extremely dirty and I would suggest signing up at another site.

This place has one of the hardest kickboxing classes I’ve ever taken. I wanted to see results fast so I keep on going(I’m about 6 weeks in and it never gets easy). My only complaint, if you would even call this a complaint, is that there are too many instructors! Like 3 – 4 per class of 20 students. Seriously, there is no where in the place where you can hide and slack off, for the cost of a class it’s like having 3 trainers standing over you. So don’t come here unless you want to be pushed and be drenched in sweat!
