Delicious! We had the pistachio-crusted chicken and the vegetarian sampler platter(so all told about 6 different items)…and every single one was tasty. The eggplant chutney was a tad too sweet for me, but I’m really splitting hairs here. We tried a sparkling white wine that was lovely, and had excellent«African Sunset» tea(African redbush base, with orange and spices). Way to go, Fez! The ambiance was lovely – classic North African décor, but made a little funkier with some very ornate kites. We sat at the bar because the place was full at 6:30 on a Saturday, which didn’t bother us at all. Coming from NYC, though, I think they could have fit twice as many tables in there, and it’d still be considered spacious!

I enjoyed everything about it. Food was Mediterranean fusion. Innovative but close to traditional still Our hostess whom I believe is the owners wife has a great fun personality. Made me feel very good to be there. Place is a bit small so make sure to have a reservation if you really want to go here.

Fez Café, a wacky place. Very poor and unpleasant setting. All the tables are warbling. What a surprise, there are people rated this junky place 4 or 5 stars, give me a break. Are you guys friends or relatives? Lets be fair: First, it is a cash only place, which is not a big deal if the foods are good. The apt came out of canned fish, but they claimed it to be home-made. They did not have pita! WHAT? NOPITA?! A meat paste dish is extremely saulty. And the noodle and meat are both tough, I mean, really tough. Friendly staff? The music was made crazy loud, made us have no stomach to enjoy the meal, let alone, the food is so junky!!! WARNING, DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYTHERE. By the way, in case, you browsed their website, do not be fooled by it.

A food enthusiast’s delight! Fusion cuisine of Mediterranean and Moroccan. We had: Crab and Goat Cheese phyllo purses, Briouats(phyllo rolls of spiced ground lamb with sweet tomato jam), kabobs of steak(grilled chunked strip steak that’s OMG-I-gotta-put-my-fork-down delectable), chicken merguez(marinated, chopped, shaped, then grilled), asparagus, red bell pepper, onion, zucchini, eggplant, currants in cous cous. The warm, fresh bread was served with some of the best tzatziki sauce I’ve ever had and marinated olives. Dessert was a mezze of Cashew Ginger Curry Brittle, Tart Cherry Gelee’s, Almond Pistachio Turron, Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream, and a Palmier cookie. You must get the Spiced Moroccan Coffee. Delightful ambiance with pleasant world music. What an unexpected lovely dining experience tucked in the sweet, small town of Saugerties.

Went to Fez for the first time last night and will be adding the establishment to my list of preferred restaurants. Although in the future we will probably call ahead as the dining area is very small and accomadates approximately 30 people. Having been piqued by the spice combinations used in Moroccan cuisine I couldn’t pass up a chance to dine here. I was very pleased with the Tapas appetizer special which consisted of a mozzrella stuffed peppadew pepper, garlic grilled shrimp, lamb meatball and Moroccan sardines was an excellent combination. The Calamari appetizer wasn’t exactly a standout but then again it is standard fare. The bread plate was served with a selection of olives and tzatziki sauce which was excellent and a nice change from the standard bread and butter. For an entrées we selected the Tagine of chicken and zarzuela. The spice on the tagine was an interesting blend of cinnamon and corriander and the only drawback in my opinion was the quartered chicken served on the plate was bit difficult to eat on the plate as it was served. My fiancée enjoyed her zarzuela which I can’t comment much on as I have yet to try it. However, it smelled amazing and the broth was delicious. For dessert we ordered the berry mousse and again was outstanding. I will have to revisit my review after a second visit. I’ll try to take some pictures as all of them came out with a reddish tint.

«Do you like tasty, delicious food?» That’s how one of the staff members responded to my mother’s request to tell us about the relative newcomer, Fez. After answering in the affirmative, we learned that the chef is a veteran of the Hudson Valley culinary scene, having cooked at the Bear Café, Ms. Lucy’s, and other local favorites. He is of Danish and Japanese descent(if I remember correctly), but became fascinated with Mediterranean flavors when his girlfriend gave him a Moroccan cookbook. Fez is the result, and I can now vouch for its tasty, delicious food. While we weren’t enamored of the mezze platter, we enjoyed the goat cheese and crab wrapped in filo dough, and we all agreed that the complimentary, warm, homemade bread served with tahini was our favorite of the starters. In terms of entrees, the lamb shank was tender and flavorful, the fish sticks(a combination of crab, salmon, white fish and many spices) turned out to be much more sophisticated than their title, and I enjoyed every single bite of my pork kebab, except for the one I unceremoniously shot off the plate, straight onto my shirt. The portions are generous, so although some of us took home leftovers, we were too stuffed for dessert. I suppose that’s yet another thing to look forward to on our next visit.

Great food and friendly staff. One of the best stops we’ve found en route to the Berkshires.

great food. The chef is very inventive. He calls his food Mediteroccan. Its a fusion of Mediteranian and Moroccan. Not very spicy but very tasty. And every day specials which are great. The place has a nice atmosphere and the décor is really sweet & very ethnic. They also have great iced fresh mint tea and special desserts they make there.
