Moving in just a couple miles from this place, we had it on our radar from the time we arrived. We finally got the chance to get it this week. The atmosphere is interesting and it definitely fits into a particular niche pretty well. I can’t tell if it’s actually cool, or just trying really hard to be cool. Either way it’s interesting and a good spot for people watchers. They were pretty busy, but seemed to be moving along fairly quickly. After reading reviews, my wife and I decided to go with the gringo sandwich with rice and beans local style. Both of us loved our meal. Or favorite part was probably the rice; there’s just something about it. The local style puts a bit too much sauce on it and overpowered the rice a bit, but it was still great. I got stash on my sandwich and my wife went with pork. Stash was good, but I highly recommend the pork. We went back a few days later and I decided to try a burrito. I couldn’t go to a burrito place and not at least try it. The burrito wasn’t bad, but I’m glad it wasn’t my first impression of the place. The burrito is gigantic and I couldn’t finish it, but I didn’t really want to finish it either; it was pretty mediocre and not very flavorful. The burrito would have earned a 3 star for being just OK. In conclusion, I highly recommend the gringo sandwich with rice and beans local style(maybe light on the sauce).

Awesome Burrito place. This was my college post surfing joint and I’ve been coming back ever since. Super chill, awesome food, and fantastic hot sauce options. You eat outdoors and the atmosphere is fantastic. The only problem is parking and there is usually a line to get your food. I guess that’s a good problem to have, but I liked it better when I would show up in my board shorts and had the place to myself.

If you are local, you know and love Da Kine’s. I always bring people from out of town here, and they love it as well. I am a huge fan of the pickled carrots and the chicken tacos. They are famous for the burritos. We love the fact that you can just stroll right off the beach and eat.

Awesome food! Very fresh ingredients make the food savory. Disappointed to find myself finished with the food, but was very satisfied with the value and the quantity. Outdoor setting, cold beer and eclectic surfer décor.

There are certain places that, for whatever reason, develop a «buzz» as a «cool» place to be. Not sure why or how that happens, but you know what I mean. Da Kine is one of those places. It’s got a cool look with surfer stuff plastered all over the walls that’s more apt to be some bro’s garage rather than a restaurant. Our teenaged daughters are under their spell, and rave about this place. So we went to check it out for ourselves. Honestly, the location sucks. Even though it’s «beachside,» it’s actually across a busy and noisy highway from the beach. So instead of hearing crashing waves, you’ll hear the din of tires and overblown car stereos. Instead of seeing sand and the the beach, you’ll sit up against an aged and well worn wooden fence with stuff etched in it. Fortunately, there’s a lot of foliage that helps green the otherwise unremarkable view. And parking is extremely limited and unpaved. Da Kine’s is relatively tiny. You may have to wait for a table to open up, and bring napkins, because burritos are sloppy, and you’ll probably have to clean up the last guest’s mess yourself. We had to wipe sour cream and salsa off our table. Nasty. You might want to take it to go and actually eat at the beach. Or in your car. Or on the street. Service is «surfer-bro,» meaning more brawn than brains. They’re not overly friendly, but more matter-of-fact as they’re posing and trying to look cool, if they’re even thinking at all. Girls stand at the window and flirt, so add that to your time and amusement. I’m sure our one daughter does too. I’m about to inform her that marrying a surfer rather than an engineer will guarantee her a mediocre life in a one-bedroom bug-infested apartment, a beater car, Thanksgiving with ramen noodles, and certainly no more iPhone upgrades. But I digress. The kitchen appears to be a well-run burrito factory, and didn’t appear any more unclean than any other small kitchen I’ve seen. Now, the important stuff — the burritos. Here’s where it gets sketchy. Apparently, these peeps have never talked to, trained with, or perhaps ever met an authentic Mexican cook. A great burrito has its ingredients mixed together, so each and every bite has a consistent yummy every customer expects. Chipotle nails it. Moes does quite well. Even Taco Bell has the formula down, and I haven’t seen a Mexican anywhere near there in years. But Da Kine’s seems to have rice meticulously separated from lettuce and beans, which is somehow isolated from the meat. Each new bite is an unwelcome surprise. That’s cool when eating a five course meal, but I think something gets lost in the burrito experience. So, if you’re a poser and style is more important to you than substance, you too will fit in this place perfectly. It’s a great place to see the latest trends in body piercings and tattoos. Otherwise, ask them to mix up your burrito before they wrap it, and take it to go.

Fast, good and reasonable. It’s a cute local hangout for some cheap eats. We had the small taco plates one of us got pork and one of us got Steak. The pork was tender and my husband said the steak was tender and delicious. I will say the jalapeños we some of the hottest I have ever tried! We saw a lot of people Eating burritos and they were huge! Jasmine rice and black beans were good. Salsa bar a nice touch. I wasn’t a fan of the pre packaged corn chips but they were Tostitos in my opinion and that’s fine. We were full and two meals and two sodas with chips were 17.00 not bad. If your looking for a fast meal at satellite beach this will fill the bill!

Checked this place out while in town. Such a huge disappointment. We ordered the insane steak burrito, chips & guac. Both looked/tasted like reheated food from Costco or SAMs club. Would not recommend.

I was so excited to try these burritos! We shared one steak burrito and got salsa, guac and chips. So thankful we shared; it was awful. Alot of Plain white rice, a few black beans, cabbage, white tortilla. No taste. Average size. My half had one piece of tasteless thin steak, I mean a shaved small piece of meat with no spice. The chips were gas station yellow corn, salsa canned, guac bought in bulk. All served in pre made mini containers. The space itself has a cool surfer tiki hut feel, hence the one star. My beer was cold and the sun is shining… I wish I would have eaten lunch anywhere else.

We were in town for just a couple days, and this was like finding sunken treasure! Not only were the burritos and chicken tacos we had amazing, but their sauces were crazy good! Wish we had this in Minnesota. It’s way better than Chipotle.

This is a fun cool place to hang out with a frosty beverage, chips, burrito or big bowl. I like Da Kines and the locals do too. These are not Tex/Mex or SoCal burritos so don’t get your hopes up, but they are the best the Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach and Melbourne Beach areas have to offer. When the chips come in a plastic bag, you know it’s time to tap the brakes a little on the Unilocal review and lower the bar a notch. Vegan options on the Space Coast are slim and none. Enjoy Da Kines.

Chill and local. Awesome burrito and rice bowl. Fast and great ingredients. Pulled pork and giant burrito reminded us of our SoCal life.

Not really overpriced. Priced appropriately, less than mediocre. This is a tourist trap and all the cool people hang out here. Problem is that none of them have ever eaten a truly decent burrito. It’s a fact they are humungous. But it’s a humungous wrapped batch of bland flavor. I hate that they don’t give you a big tub of taco sauce or something similar to pour on it. That would make it so much better. Very disappointed.

I love the Gringo Star with chicken and a side of potmac, and spicy carrots. The salads are huge and delicious. Their sauces are also fabulous!

So fresh! So good! There are plenty of great, descriptive reviews so I won’t labor on and repeat(too much) of what’s already been said. Personally, I love the Gringo Star(I usually go for the pork). The spicy carrots are awesome. I’ve usually only seen these at small Mexican restaurants out west. If you’ve never tried them, try them. Pineapple wedges are awesome too! They’re just pineapple, no biggie, but where can you get fresh pineapple wedges that are ripe and so sweet as a side? There is limited seating, but we’ve never really had a problem. We went there at night during a rainstorm and it was still packed, but found a table for five of us. The limited covering actually did pretty well during the rain. Still debating if this should be a 4 or a 5 rating.

A really cool place to stop by with friends after a day at the beach! The food itself is pretty good. The portions are large for the price. I got the pork lil B(pork is the best burrito meat here, so I’ve heard). Inside it is basically rice, beans, sauce, and meat. The rice/beans take up a TON of space but the flavors are okay for a hungry stomach. What really shines about the establishment is the environment! It’s open air seating so you get the beach-y feels and the doodles/decorations everywhere make it one of a kind.

Another huge disappointment for me out here at the space coast. After reading some Unilocal reviews from locals that raved about how awesome Da Kine is I figured it was worth a shot. For starters, the atmosphere is completely misleading. From the looks of it, you would think this place is just a local burrito joint serving made in house grub. This, however, is far from the truth. I ordered the Tacos Libres with chicken and my guy ordered the Barney Bowl with pork. We got chips with salsa and guac to share. Both of our dishes were cold(especially the chicken) and tasted like something you would get from the frozen section at Publix. Even the guac looked and tasted like it came from a large tub of guac from a Costco or Sam’s Club. The chips we ordered definitely were the same type of deal. They were the round tortilla type chips my mom would normally buy in bulk for Super Bowl parties when I was a kid. If this restaurant hired some actual chefs who could prepare the food fresh, in house then this place would actually have some potential. It’s sad to say, but don’t waste your time or money eating at Da Kine. The food is even 1000X better at Chipotle.

We got small taco meal-choice of meats in a soft flour tortilla loaded with cabbage and cheese. The plate does come with jasmine rice, black beans, diced red pepper, scallions, pickled carrots(so good), pico de gallo, etc. there is a hot sauce bar– we got a mai thai and green sauce– all were good. This place is no frills, beach shack vibes with lost onsie flip flops stuck along the walls. Sit at a picnic bench near the banana trees and palms and you got it going on. Loses one star because the meat could be amped up a notch(chargrilled chunks) and more generous portions. I like veggies, but for meat lovers there is really not enough portion or emphasis on the meat, in the tacos at least. Love the concept, though.

The burritos aren’t the best I’ve had, but they are definitely good. I loved the jasmine rice and the sauces to add to the burrito. The seating area is an incredible beach, dive environment. That alone makes is a great place to hang after a day out at the beach.

This place instantly transported me back to my flight school days filled with easy seaside breezes, terrific cuisine and the constant drone of aircraft engines overhead. The place is most certainly focuses on surfers as the locals have tagged every available space with stickers and memorabilia. The menu is uncomplicated and straight forward with grindz obviously influenced from the islands ‘cuz! We opted for the mini B which came out to be a healthy burrito. Piled on the black beans, protein of choice, rice, cheese and I even opted for the house cured pickled carrots. Stuff is delish — ‘ono style! Service is efficient and friendly, flash a shaka and you’re family in no time. Terrific eats!

I’m never disappointed when I eat here! I don’t live in satellite anymore, but whenever I come down to visit, I make sure I stop by here! Honestly, any item on the menu is great. I usually order the gringo star with black beans and rice instead of chicken. It comes on a pillowy pita with lettuce, cheese, and their gringo sauce. So yummy! I like to top it off with their lizzy sauce.
