Second chance. Not good. I heard the server call me an asshole under her breathe and the clam chowder was cold. If it was warm I don’t think it would have helped much. I left and walked to Max Londons…

The food is ok – not brilliant, but not bad. But the service for two of the three meals I ate in the hotel was really, really bad. I was stuck in a dark corner and ignored. Not worth the hassle – look up local restaurants and go out instead.

We tried the Springs last night after originally trying Boca Bistro only to find an hour wait. It was 7:15 on a Friday in Saratoga, so that was expected. So my wife and I walked across the street to The Springs. We went some 30 years ago when it was High Rock I believe. The interior looks the same… Nice but a bit dated. First thing we noticed was we were one of Two tables in the entire place, and ½ the dining room was not set… They must be used to being slow. We were greeted a little too long into our visit. The waiter(the only one) was on a smoke break. I really don’t care if you want to smoke, but wow the smoke was lingering long after he left to get us drinks. The service after this was pretty prompt, but really had better be for 2, 2 tops. We both ordered Filets…$ 27 each. My guess is they were cryo-vacked and pulled to order OR they were just improperly trimmed. Silver skin everywhere and fat… On Filets. Doing the amount of business a restaurant like this does makes prep and production difficult without tossing a ton of food to shelf life… But fatty filet’s were not expected. Even frozen ones are pretty well cleaned. They were in a red wine sauce. Not terrible, but the corn starch thickness made it more like a Chinese sauce than a reduction from scratch… Most likely packaged. My wife’s Garlic mashed, which were a typo on the menu as Garden mashed(not fixing typos is a big deal), were about 95 degrees… A pretty dry lump of cool potatoes… My vegetable blend, which my waiter told me was Broccoli, was actually Broccoli and baby carrots and clearly bagged frozen… Clearly. I had 2 beers and she had water. I must also mention there was a small convention in the Hotel and the bar had a group of maybe 1030 somethings… I think 1 guy just discovered how to use the word F#!K. I love the word, but not in an empty dining room at the top of his lungs for ½ the meal. This was a chance for the bartender, who was the only other employee and host, to step and and tell him to cool it. We are local and having spent the last 30 years in Restaurant management, The Springs is doing a basic mistake. Staffing down to where you want to be in sales. Add to that serving a sub par meal in a town with 150 great choices, and they are right where they should be on a Friday night… Slow to almost closed… Next time we will wait the hour. The extra star is for the fire place…

This review is for the hotel and restaurant. First off I am a sales rep who covered every state west of the Rockies for three years and have stayed at several Hilton Properties and am now covering 12 North East states. So, I get to a few hotels. From check in to the last bite of dinner everything has been perfect. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Dinner and service were excellent. One of the best Hilton’s I have been too. Will definitely be staying here next time I’m in town. I never make reviews but they deserve it!

This was a breakfast experience, can’t comment on the other meals. After a shocking, horrific event trying to go to Beverly’s and finding an empty store front with no explanation, we decided to go to The Springs. It was a Monday and they had a pretty large convention staying there, this means that they should’ve been prepared for a lot of guests wanting breakfast. The restaurant was about 2⁄3 full and we were dismayed to wait about 10 minutes for a seat because none of the remaining 1⁄3 of the restaurant’s tables were clean. After finally getting seated we were disappointed by the breakfast menu. Very basic. It has about 10 items on it. They had serious staffing problems and the staff working were disoriented and out of focus. It took another 10 minutes to get coffee and another 10 to get cream. I asked if they could put sour cream and salsa on my breakfast burrito. No was the answer. They brought our pastry starter plate out. And we stared at it wondering how we would eat it without any plates or silverware. We spotted a manger and asked for silverware and butter. He brought the butter. We spotted our server and asked for silverware and we each got a fork. Then our food arrived. The food was good. No complaints there, although it was slightly over priced, but we knew we were going to a ‘fancy’ hotel so this was fine. I eventually walked to the waiter stand and filled my own coffee and re-filled the cream. Requests for hot sauce were met with pleasant responses and no hot sauce, so I found some on a nearby table that was dirty for about an hour. I finally finagled knives for us about half way through the meal. I was really surprised, the service was appalling. The food was fine. Not worth going there for breakfast in my opinion unless you are staying at the hotel and don’t feel like leaving. Or maybe if you call ahead and check if they have a full staff working and no conventions present it might work out.
