My first waffle cone experience was lovely. They have homemade chocolate dipped waffle cones! What is not to love about that?! I have no idea how it took me all of my life to try one but by golly I love them. Can’t wait for another. They have homemade ice cream with a variety of flavors! They also have a massive fast food menu that even includes a homemade veggie burger. I was quite impressed but the 3 stars comes from the wait time. It is also a bit on the pricier side for an ice cream joint. The food is very reasonably priced though. Must Try: Chocolate dipped waffle cone Needs: Speedier service!

Just amazing Ice cream. The«regular» sundae is pretty big and love the whipped cream and gourmet chopped nuts. They’ll let you get a bunch of different golf ball sized scoops of ice cream instead of a regular sized scoop if you want to try some different flavors. Best ice cream in a town with a lot of great ice cream stores.

Great ice cream, but I ordered a single scoop of the Turtle and they loaded a softball-sized scoop onto the worst-designed cone ever. The scoop immediately began running down the side. I guess I would recommend a waffle cone or maybe ask for a cup cone if you don’t get it in the cup.

Oh, soooo many flavors to choose from. Their ice cream is very, very good. We’ve never made it to the original location in Greenwich, but have always wanted to try it. So it’s nice to be able to have this option on a route that we travel more routinely. Fortunately, there was not a line behind me as I tried to make up my mind which flavors I wanted to try on our first visit. If my wife chose a flavor that I was interested in then I’d better have a backup plan for another flavor. Surely she would give me a taste of that flavor, wouldn’t she? She settled on two scoops in a dish($ 3.75?), one was Coffee Almond and the other was Alchemist Ginger(ok, I’ll need one of my backups). The coffee almond was the last serving available and its replacement was Coffee Brandy. That almost got her to switch her coffee flavor order, but she didn’t want to hold up service. I thought the coffee flavor was not as strong and dominant as what we can get at Mac’s in Watervliet, but The Ice Cream Man does know how to make really creamy ice cream. The Ginger was exceptionally good. It had a nice strong flavor with pieces of crystallized ginger. I chose Creamy Cashew and Root Beer for my two scoops. A lot of the flavors at The Ice Cream Man start with vanilla and then get a swirl of this or that or a blend of something else like my cashews. Fortunately, they make a very good vanilla. The cashew flavor was faint until you got to one of the nuts. The root beer flavor on the other hand, was dominant in every single spoonful. It was like having a root beer float without the liquid or carbination. A variety of malts and shakes are also available with some very unique sounding concoctions that are bound to draw us back.

The Saratoga outpost of the legendary Greenwich shop is now open. The home made hard ice cream flavors are what’s special here… good and definitely not good for you. Some early season jitters and disorganization were noted: they were taking and fulfilling orders from the same window, then a customer suggested they open a second window so they did. A course in smiling and friendly customer service would also be helpful, but I’d buy this ice cream even if greeted with a snarl. Note: unlike the original, this location does not serve meals, just ice cream.

Ice cream in Saratoga has just been kicked up a notch, and I no longer have to drive to Greenwich to get Ice Cream Man ice cream. After a few false starts, it’s now open, sharing a building with a new Papa John’s. As much as I respect Ben & Jerry’s, with a gelato place downtown, and now Ice Cream Man, I have to wonder how much B&J’s business will be affected. This place is smaller and more cramped than their Greenwich location, but you know what, I didn’t come here for the scenery, I came here for the ice cream. But I wasn’t completely happy. I looked at my original review for their Greenwich location, where I mentioned cones by size and price. Your cones here aren’t quite as good a deal, slightly less ice cream for slightly more money. I have no idea whether it has anything to do with the cost of operation here, inflation, or the fact that you’re paying to buy ice cream in Saratoga. Regardless, I’m glad they’re here.
