Terrific breakfast/brunch. The Key West Benedict is unbelievably delicious. If you like lobster and shrimp you’ll love this. $ 25 currently is the market price but worth it.

I walked into this nearly empty restaurant for breakfast at 10:30AM and was asked not to sit at a «four top» even though they were empty. That’s just nuts to me; I told her to forget about it and that I’d go elsewhere. Won’t go back there, that’s for sure.

The Breakfast House was a great little spot for some early am dinning! We got there right after they opened so the patio wasn’t hot. Food selection was great and we were both very pleased with our food(ham, cheddar, egg croissant and a stuffed French toast). Service was prompt and friendly.

We sat in the garden and it was eclectic and very comfortable. The coffee was robust and flavorful. Sweet server was attentive. My husband had waffles with fresh strawberries. He licked his plate. I had a spinach and mushroom omelette. Everything just tasted very fresh. We will go back for sure.

The coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff is attentive and kind and never annoying! I had the Greek omelet and it was the FLUFFIEST most AMAZING delicious, flavorful omelet I’ve ever had. Shared the pancakes(simply cakes) with my boyfriend and those were incredible as well. Kudos to them for using actual maple syrup instead of nasty high fructose corn syrup with brown in it. It really complemented everything. So good. Seriously, forget first watch or the broken egg or whatever it’s called. I’ve been to both and this BLEWTHEMOUTOFTHEWATER!!!

I came here this past weekend with my family. I loved the Key West feel it had to it and there was no wait when we got there. We had a variety of different items. I ordered the bacon egg & cheese croissant with potatoes, other family members had 2 eggs over medium with potatoes & a biscuit, raisin bread French toast, oatmeal & an egg white omelet. The egg & cheese croissant was ok, the potatoes were a bit overcooked, the French toast was extremely dry even after the syrup was on it & the biscuit was dry. On top of all that, our waitress was not friendly & seemed annoyed when we asked her for a couple of items. With the amount of restaurants in Sarasota, I will not be coming back here.

Wonderful escape for breakfast! The food is Devine! The service is spectacular and the ambiance is quaint with a Key West flavor! A must go to in Sarasota! Call ahead seating is available however well worth the wait if necessary. We go at every opportunity for either breakfast or lunch! Our first choice is Sarasota.

Breakfast house was an out of the way stop as we went through Sarasota. We brought out puppy, and they were more than happy to see her. I was very pleased to learn that they had call ahead, and we were seated with a reasonable wait. This is where it went to the middle of the road and stayed there. A word of caution, the 3 dollar«fresh squeezed orange juice» is Tropicana or simply orange. There is no way it’s «fresh squeezed» in house. I ordered the French dip and my boyfriend ordered shrimp and grits. The grits are packaged with cheese on top and are pretty ok as far as that goes, the shrimp was cooked well and was flavorful. As for the French dip, I prefer my bread to be a little crispier but besides that it was solidly good. Not great, but good. I would probably come again if I lived closer, but considering the other choices in the area I will probably not be back. The saving grace? The staff is wonderful. Very nice, very accommodating. :)

Cool place with potential. But the dinning room is so small, and the tables are so small it was hard to eat. The server was functional but not friendly nor efficient. the food was ok, but that was about it. The restaurant is way on the other side of town is certainly not worth the drive.

OMG! We went for breakfast and seriously considered going back 4 hours later for lunch! The Key West omelet with grits and homemade biscuit were well worth the«market price» and the mini Belgium waffles with fruit and REAL maple syrup were well worth it. Our server Amy was attentive but not overly so. We’ll be back… Crab eggs Benedict next? Yes please!

I like this place. It is very tropical, and inside a house. I really like the turkey florentine Benedict. The hash browns are so good. I wish they have breakfast skillets, but the benedicts are so good here! Our server Amy is very nice and she fills up my coffee adapter! No complaints and great food!

A year later since my last review, I must put The Breakfast House on a pedastal of all time favorite breakfast places. Amy, our server remembered me, and remembered my order. She was absolutely right. The service here is impeccable beyond words. The food here is spectacular and there are items on the menu that you can not find every where. I picked the lobster and shrimp crepes this time around. Last time I had a crab benedict. It was oh so good. My hubby had his favorite turkey Florentine benedict. My out of town guests loved their food too. This is a Key West like bungalow with bright artsy pics and a cute outside area too that is Pet Friendly. If you come here, you will have one of the best Florida breakfasts!

I have a friend who comes here all the time. On Saturday morning, I met her here. We both had the blueberry French toast. It was indescribable! The inside had the texture of Yorkshire pudding and tasted like Frech toast magnified. It was so good, I didn’t pay attention to what her husband ordered. Lol. It was bright and cheery outside and inside. I love how they have rainbow colored chairs which match the napkins and flower on the table. Nice touch! The waiter was really friendly, which I loved. He came to our table 6 times! That is unheard of!!! As we were leaving, we heard someone talking and realized they had a guitar player on their outside patio. I will be back!

Delicious food, fun atmosphere. This little restaurant located in an old house which has indoor and outdoor seating is just another little gem in the Sarasota crown of eateries. We sat out back in the little garden area under cute little umbrellas. I had the Crab Oscar Eggs Benedict; so delicious. A hint of lemon zest was noticed which was perfect. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes are also cooked perfect with nice caramelized pieces of onion. My daughter had the Fruit Crepes dusted in cinnamon — a perfect compliment. The entertainment is nice; a gentleman with a guitar — not too loud.

We love this place! Our server Amy was so friendly and wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxing, laid back and clean. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast special which was a deep dish cinnamon raisin bread French toast with homemade cream and rum sauce!!! Amazing! I had eggs with corn beef hash, potatoes and grits. Everything was perfect. I wish this little gem was in our hometown!

This is a sweet little«Key West Style» breakfast nook in Sarasota that is a solid choice for those who enjoy this kind of atmosphere. The restaurant is, as its title suggests, located in an actual house and has lots of vibrant colors on the tables and walls with natural light and beachy decorations all around the place. We had no issue getting a table quickly, and our waitress was polite, friendly, and attentive. i enjoyed some black coffee with the western omelette, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast. The meal was cooked well and had a great balance of flavors, it was a very hearty meal. No major complaints but I would have preferred a little more room between tables or a full«community style» feel to the place… it felt like we were on top of the couple next to us which was awkward at times with conversation. Definitely a good pit stop that will satisfy your breakfast needs in Sarasota!
