The food is authentic and delicious. The staff is always on point. One of the few restaurants where homemade holds true as everything including the pasta is made in house.

Authentic and delicious. I lived in Italy for nearly a decade, spent 5 summer in Sardinia(the island). I can honestly say that Chef Dino has done an amazing job bring in those flavored and authentic cuisine to Sarasota. Excellent food, tasty and fresh. Great wines as well. Highly recommended, from fish to pasta, dessert… Never lets me down.

Just had my first dinner at Sardinia. From the flatbreads at the start, to the octopus carpaccio and the pasta with short rib ragu, it was a wonderful dinner. Our server, Eduardo was great. The space is modern with some great art. I’m looking forward to my return!

I was extremely disappointed with the whole experience at Sardinia. We tried the three course special they are running this month(July) and it was terrible. Each course was poorly prepared and had no flavor at all. The service was awful as we waited a lengthy amount of time between each course. Our waiter kept saying «bon appetito» each time he checked on us, brought us water or served us the next course, very odd. The music that was playing over head sounded like elevator music and was not represenative of Italy at all. I would not reccomend this restaurant at all if you are in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine.

Our first time at Sardinia. A taste of Sarasota attracted us with a chance to try a new restaurant on a special fixed price menu. All very fresh, perfectly prepared and presented. I had sea bass, with my wife having a very nice cioppino. Sea bass was excellent all with Sardinian spices. We will go again.

Amazing experience! Wait staff, ambiance, fantastic! Food… EXCEPTIONAL! A little pricey on the regular menu(we enjoyed the Savor Sarasota specials), but well worth it. We’ll definitely be back!

went there last week with a friend. service was great, but to be fair… we were the only ones in there. i ordered the«shrimp & scallops»(3 of each). it was good but nothing special that would make me want to order it again. i think it was over priced at $ 30 would i go back? maybe, but only if someone else was paying.

I have been to Sardinia many times over the last year and it is a fantastic restaurant. Chef Dino sources only the freshest ingredients and lets those ingredients shine in his cooking. I have a soft spot for good Bottarga and Chef Dino cures his own in-house. Pane Carasau(Sardinian flat bread) is addictive. Good friendly service, and the Chef periodically comes out into the dining room to greet his guests.

So this place was cute and service was great but as for the food I was not impressed and it is very expensive for the portions. Me and my mom and sister went in for an 8pm reservation. We tried the stuffed calamari appetizer. It was horrible… I actually spit it out. I thought it was just me and my mom did the same. For entrée I got the shrimp and scallops. 32 bucks. Not impressed. Once again for that price… not good. Shrimp were plump but everything was so bland! I was munching on the bread because that’s all I really wanted. The wine was good and so was my coffee. That’s about it I’m giving 3 stars because the service was great. That’s about it.

My family and I went to Sardinia restaurant and for the first time and we were very impressed by the quality of the food. The inside was very nice, clean, and comfortable. When we received the bread for the table the carta musica, or flatbread, was very well prepared, crispy and evenly salted. Things got even better when the food arrived, and we started with the octopus carpaccio, which was not chewy at all and complimented well with the cured fish roe. We also ordered the prosciutto with pecorino sardo which was also very nice. For the main course, I had the gnocchi sardi which were delicious with a fantastic meaty sauce to accompany it. My dad had the veal ravioli which he also enjoyed very much, and they were served in a light sauce with walnuts with walnuts and other ingredients. Finally, my mom had the sea bass which was a bit underseasoned, but was cooked perfectly. Her favorite part of the dish though was the rizo on the plate which was absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a great way for us to experience the food of Sardinia for the first time, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This place was just ok. Nothing overly exciting unfortunately. The mushrooms and cheese on bread appetizer came out Luke warm and cold in the middle. Disappointing. My pasta dish was ok. I had linguini and clams. There was barely any oil/garlic or flavor for that matter. The bread basket was eh. The hard flat bread that was mentioned in the other reviews was just that. And then there is a generic smaller slices of white bread. Nothing special at all and served with butter pats. Really? Skipped dessert. Wine was good. Nice looking restaurant, small but nicely done. Service was good. I just feel like it coulda, shoulda been more. Something’s missing.

I’m wondering if the person who reviewed Sardinia before me confused it with another restaurant. How could our experiences be SO vastly different!!! Anyway… You’d think I was totally setting myself up for disaster when I ended up going to Sardinia for lunch. I was REALLY craving Thai food, so I’d intended to go to my favorite, Isan Thai, not realizing that they are closed on Mondays. I had a limited amount of time on my lunch break, so I decided to try Sardinia even though I really wasn’t feeling like eating Italian food. When I went in, I was seated right away and the waitress brought me a menu and ice water. I looked over the lunch menu and was happy to see lots of delicious sounding vegetarian and pescatarian options and realized that my Thai craving had quickly disappeared. Most of the choices were around $ 10, very reasonable for a lovely selection. I ordered the Grilled Marinated Vegetable Sandwich with a cup of Minestrone soup. When it arrived, it looked and smelled awesome. The fresh baguette was crusty and warm, and filled with artichokes, zucchini and various other lightly roasted veggies with a small amount of excellent olive oil over the top. The Minestrone was basically just a light veggie soup topped with a sprinkle of fresh parmesan. The whole meal was very satisfying and a great value. I will definitely go back!
