Good local spot to pick up some sandwiches. Though I hear their real claim to fame are the bagels, the sandwiches are pretty good as well. Using boars head meat which you can typically get almost anywhere nowadays, the crafting of the sandwiches and well thought out choices of bread and condiments are what really set them apart. I had a Ruben on rye which really was one of the better Reuben sandwiches I had in a long time. My wife opted for the Italian and it was a pretty simple but decent sandwich. The bread was almost better than the toppings on this one. The homemade bagel chips or impressive though quite salty for my tastes and their drink selection was pretty small but unique. The atmosphere is nothing special but you did get the feeling that these folks at least might be from Brooklyn if not somewhere very close. Don’t expect any southern colony, but do expect friendly folks that will take your order and hand you off a pretty good sandwich. It isn’t the best sandwich I have ever had by any means, but off the top of my head I can think of very few in the area that were any better. Most are worse. I think a strong three is a pretty fair overall representation of the place. The folks were friendly enough, there wasn’t much of a wait time, the food came out quickly and was pretty good, though they are a little bit limited by the establishment itself and not stepping too far off the charted course.

Taylor Ham and Egg on egg bagel. Yummy! Cuban sammy for Ayden. Delish! I stole a bite. Clean and friendly hole in the wall deli. Bagels are very good better than the chain stores. I felt like I was back at the Jersey Shore having breakfast. Will repeat visit with the rest of the krewe

I really gave this place a chance. Ordered a Rueben and it was way too greasy. Tried bagels and lox… way too much cream cheese and capers and not enough salmon. If your gonna sell bagels the coffee has to be top notch coffee as well… Very disappointed in this place.

Average at best… I forgive the service, it’s just a deli, after all. But the taste and consistency of bagels was a disappointment! I expect more in Florida. Einsteins or other chains are better.

Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to experience the food. After three attempts to clarify and explain my order to the two cashiers and cook I just asked for a refund. Two eggs and sausage with a bagel toasted. How hard can that be for a bagel shop. Better hires perhaps???

I came here looking for a good bagel, and based on the reviews, I came here. The woman working both the cash register and bagel making wore her gloves the entire time. She was touching bagels and handing customers menus. Menus that are touched by many unclean customer hands. Then she proceeded to continue making the bagels. Then she took my order on a pen and paper(I presume unclean) with the gloves still on and then still continued to make bagels. GROSS! And unsanitary!

Just went here for the first time for breakfast/lunch. I ordered a toasted jalapeño bagel with cream cheese that was absolutely delicious and toasted perfectly. You could smell and taste a hint of jalapeño, but it wasn’t overpowering. They also nailed the all too important cream cheese to bagel ratio! Every bite was so yummy. My boyfriend ordered a breakfast burrito and when it came out, I had to steal a bite. It was the perfect example of what I want a breakfast burrito to be. No fancy frills, just a simple and delicious breakfast burrito! Everything was delicious. The couple who took care of us were very welcoming and super friendly towards us. We enjoyed our food and we will definitely be back! This is a small little place, but I’m definitely glad we found it.

Fresh bagels that were big and doughy. Just what you want when you have a carb craving. Got one with veggie cream cheese and half dozen more to go. Pricing is about on par with most chain type places but this deli is def not a chain. Friendly and prompt service. Lots of Sammy options on menu as well.

I have to say I’ve never been a big fan of cream cheese(yes, I know I’m weird) but I ordered an everything bagel with a little butter and their garlic herb cream cheese on the side. It was so good! You need a breath mint after eating it though. They’re a little pricey, but I’d rather pay a little more for quality then pay the same price for crap breakfast from McDonald’s. Their orange juice is so good! Everything behind their deli case looks good and fresh too.

A local store with no pizzazz. O.K. bagel. Good choices of spreads… server seemed preoccupied and I felt that I was imposing when I ordered. I cannot imagine going back.

The bagel sandwiches are one of the best in Sarasota! The Western Bagel sandwich is a great combination of egg, cheese, peppers, onions and we added some slices of Taylor Ham and it brings this sandwich over the top to heavenly breakfast sandwich! The bagels are fresh and crunching a definite upgrade for the Sarasota area. The prices are extremely reasonable for breakfast sandwich start at $ 4.99 and lunch sandwiches are under $ 10.00! This is not a chain, this is privately owned and the bagels are fresh. Great addition to the Sarasota area! Oh, and don’t forget to get some of the variety of cheese spreads, like the scallion or the honey spread. Both are so good, you want to lick your fingers. Plenty of parking in the gas station and flowers shop plaza in the Gulf Gate area.

For Florida I give this a 5. Bagels were really good and everyone was nice. Boars Head cold cuts good stuff. I grew up in Brooklyn and although it doesn’t give you the feel of NY the food was good.

Hot pastrami sandwich on rye. Comes with a pickle… Dijon mustard with just enough kick, provolone cheese all melted with the pastrami. Simple and delicious. Excellent! Will try a bagel next… Great little spot.

Super excited about this find. Why has it taken so long?! This place is just like a NY bagel shop I love up north. Fresh bagels and cream cheese– none of that premade stuff. I personally appreciate that they use real eggs for their sandwiches, not those weird egg patties. I haven’t tried any yet, but they also make boars head sandwiches. The pastrami looked delicious. Prices are a little higher than I expected, but still relatively cheap. Either way I’ll be back for more.

I’m from jersey and it’s the only place I can get a Taylor ham sandwich anywhere I’ve been down here! And combined with the bagels, it takes me back to my childhood. It’s like a hug from the inside!

The only resemblance to Brooklyn is in the name. The bagels are baked, not boiled. They are bread like and not very chewy. Was told that all the salads and spreads were homemade. Turns out that the whitefish salad comes out if a plastic container from Costco! I am afraid that the whole experience was a major disappointment. My father grew up in Brooklyn so I would visit several times a year. Still remember what the real Brooklyn bagels tasted like? They were the best!

Bagels that taste like back home! Pastries that negate my work outs. This place is amazing! Definitely get a breakfast sandwich. The western is a personal favorite.

Decent bagels. Not the most authentic New York style but those are awfully hard to come by. The outside is legit(I suspect the bagels are boiled, which is key) but the inside tasted bread-y to me. The cream cheese is the best I’ve had in town though. I would give the cream cheese 5 stars. The bagels sort of became a cream cheese delivery system; I would eat cardboard if it had that stuff spread on it. Definitely worth stopping in for a quick bite. It’s a really cute, simple, clean café.
