Came here a few years ago and found a bunch of blond hair on the bed. On reporting it to the front desk they interrogated me like I was trying to get compensated(for a measly $ 100) for the shoddy state of the room. No apology, no attempt at rectifying the clean up process of the room, simply attacks on me. BTW I have black hair. Needless to say I did not want to stay at the Sara– Placid ever again until this year when there were no other rooms available and we were forced to stay at the Sara-Placid again. I called the front desk for a tea bag and was told(by the manager in a very rude tone) that tea bags are only available in European hotels, not American ones.

Had to book a place last minute for a memorial service. Tough to do with the Can-Am Hockey tournament ongoing. The Sara-Placid Motor Lodge had just 2 available rooms: one had two queen beds and the other had a king. My brother got to them first and booked the king; I got the 2 queens. The room was spacious and very clean. Flat screen tv, dinette table and chairs, refrigerator, coffee maker with supplies. My room had a separate vanity area with sink outside the bathroom. Nice set-up. The bed and pillows were very comfy, and the hotel manager was very nice. The only downside was the entrance to the office is very narrow and you can’t fit more than 2 people at a time in it. The room lacked extra toilet paper and a box of tissues. And we had to ask for a can/bottle opener, which was graciously supplied. I would stay again.
