Adirondack Motel is a great place to stay, clean rooms, comfortable beds and it is right on the water. Other perks, refrigerators and coffee machines in the rooms. Canoe and Kayaks on site to borrow. It is also right next to the Mountain Myst Ice Cream shop if you’re into that sort of thing :) There are plenty of places to site on the lawn in their many Adirondack chairs to admire the lake, dry off from swimming or just enjoy a good book.

I have stayed here many times over the past 4 or 5 years. This is a very clean, well maintained motel with two of the friendliest proprietors you will find. Prices are reasonable and adjusted for the season. The motel is within walking distance of the village center and although it is right on RT86, it is quiet in the rooms. Lake Placid is only a short drive.

I just had the pleasure of staying at the Adirondack Motel for the first time this week. I visit Saranac Lake quite often and have stayed at several of the local hotels and motels in the area. This was by far the best experience that I have had. The rooms are clean, neat and comfortable. The price was right, the location was very convenient and the proprietors, Fred and Susan could not have been nicer to deal with. They have canoes and kayaks available for guests to use as well as a couple of very nice powered boats to rent. We rented the pontoon boat for a family outing and had a wonderful day cruising up through the locks towards Lower Saranac Lake. The boat was like brand new with all of the latest options. We stayed in one of the standard motel rooms but had such a nice stay we asked to see the lake front efficiency units and the cottage units for another trip we may take this summer. All were equally nice. This is a motel! not a hotel, there is no piano bar, room service or mints or your pillow but it a great place to stay.

4.5 stars easy. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this accommodation. It’s hard to say«this motel» simply because it deserves a better label for the quality of service and comfort. Pros: — Very clean rooms and bathrooms. — Far enough from the road to not have any sleep disruptions. — The room temperature was pleasant, even when it was freezing cold out. — Good wifi signal in the room. — Free coffee and muffins in the morning! And good coffee at that. — We were there in winter, but it looked like boats were available for paddling(it’s right on the lake). — Fred was supercool and provided us lots of information about paddling opportunities in the area. He’s definitely a good source of local knowledge. — Location was on the side of Saranac lake closest to Placid, so the drive to/from each town was negligible. Cons: — If you need room service or a fancy lobby, this might underwhelm you. — Parking could be a challenge for very large vehicles, but I wouldn’t worry about it. Bottom line: — It’s a simple, but comfortable place.

Very cozy and clean motel. I stayed here for a long weekend with friends. We stayed in the cottage. It was very nice and clean. It had some modern conveniences including wifi, a gas fire place, and a HD television. The owners are very nice and accommodating. The property is located next to Lake Flower and offers a nice view a you wake up in the morning. The motel is easy to get to on NY-86 and walking distance to a number of businesses in town. I was staying here with friends for an event over in Lake Placid, and it’s an ideal place to stay(and save money) with a short 10 minute drive down 86 to get to LP. The price was very reasonable, about 150 per night for the upstairs area of the cottage that can sleep 6. There are also motel rooms for rent and rooms in a boat house, which is directly on the lake. This is a great place to stay… I would give it 6 stars if a 6th was available!
