I ordered take out from this place. One star goes for how quick they delivered. A quick delivery is always appreciated, and the man was really friendly. However, the sushi is not the best… something tasted really odd/off. I ordered California rolls, Shrimp tempura rolls, gyoza, and shrimp tempera. The gyoza and the shrimp tempera, so another star for that. The sushi itself, on the other hand, I’ve definitely tried better. But i do recommend the gyoza and shrimp tempera. Overall, I paid $ 44. Kinda expensive, but probably because it was delivered.

Can’t believe this place stays open. Why would anybody want to eat bait for sushi and rodents for your meat dishes? The only saving grace is that the service is so bad that your raw carp and teriyaki squirrel may never arrive. This is definitely a zero-star place. C’mon, Unilocal. At least add a turd icon for places like Zaoh.

My son loves sushi, we were visiting the city with my mum who was here from Scotland. This wee neighbourhood restaurant was just what we were looking for; no frills, fresh sushi at great value. Our host was very attentive & friendly. The portions were generous and the lunch combo specials were great value. They had a daily specials board too; California rolls with fresh crab, just $ 7.50; tempting but we stuck to the menu. This place is a little off the tourist route, but totally worth the wander on a nice sunny day like we had. Lunch for four with 3 large beers and tip $ 108

Was looking for a good sushi restaurant in the Mission, and found this place on Unilocal.A lot of the reviews for the place within the past few weeks were not too great, so I was apprehensive, but the menu and prices looked awesome so I gave it a shot. This place was amazing! The service was great, our server was super attentive and quick, the food came out quick, and was delicious. The serving was huge for the price! The quality and quantity of the food were great for the price. The restaurant itself is super adorable too. The booths near the window seat are so cozy and its in a really good location. Definitely will be back here when I’m in the area. For three people with full meals and alcoholic drinks the price was under $ 60! Can’t beat that.

They delivered my order without wasabi or ginger. I’m glad I left the delivery driver only a $ 1 tip. Pay more attention next time.

I have lived and worked in this neighborhood for over 20 years and have eaten out Zaoh often enough to consider it a neighborhood staple; not good, not bad just there. I also always believe that you are only as good as your worst meal. Today Zoah seemed to have served up a new low; an inedible bowl of Ramen with a side of chicken teriyaki. In a city flush with delicious Ramen it amazed me how bad a bowl good be. From the overcooked prepacked(i can only imagine: frozen) noodles to the oily chicken? flavored broth with a few floating pieces of vegetables. NEVERAGAIN

The restaurant is in between Grandma’s deli and Shanghai Restaurant. You wouldn’t really notice it unless you’re walking by. They’re usually packed and the only reason we went there after a training nearby and coworkers has told me this place was good. We walked in and we were seated right away in the back, it was pretty small. We had hot tea and our menus. We ordered our food and the food came, but we also ordered drinks. a diet coke and root beer. We had to ask couple of times before the waitress FINALLY brought over the sodas. I ordered a seaweed salad that NEVER came… and was on the check! Had to get the seaweed salad off the check. Waited forever to get our box and check. Onto the food, the food was mediocre, I’ve had better. At first, I didn’t know… *wait for it.* a CHINESE owned Japanese restaurant… yeah, are you surprised? We asked one of the waitress if they had gluten free soy sauce, she said YES. We were SHOCKED! Then we waited for a long time and she never came and asked another waitress for soysauce, she came back with a GREEN top(low sodium). She said that’s all we have… hmm… OK. For a first timer… I’d say it’s my last time.

My first experience for take out today. I ordered the soft shell crab, unagi over rice & salmon skin hand roll. Came to be about $ 30+ dollars after tip. I thought that the price was about average and I went to pick up my food. Soft shell crab.: It was pretty good. Only bad thing about it was that it was a bit soggy. but I had to walk 10 minutes with it in its box so I understand. Besides the soggyness, I was very pleased. Unagi over rice.(Eel): The reason I ordered the soft shell crab in the first place is because I thought the portions weren’t going to be much. I was totally wrong. Unagi over rice was enough to fill me all the way up. The eel itself was very juicy and it tasted awesome. Salmon skin handroll: This was expected that it will be a bit soggy because of my travel back to work. But the handroll is very good. I will definately come back to Zaoh.

Ordered in advance on E24. Delivered right on time to my office. The lunch combos are EXCELLENT and tons of food! I got a shrimp tempura combo with sake sashimi — included salad, rice and soup. The maguro was also great. Excellent value and portions for a fast casual style and lunch delivery sushi option. Will be back!

My coworker and I split a tempura udon and the super sushi combo for lunch. The food was very reasonable for the price(~$ 20). It was yummy and its the best sushi option in the area unless you’re rich enough to eat at Twitter’s market. There’s lots of tables for eating there. Furniture is a little fun down but still good atmosphere for eating a casual lunch with a coworker.

This place is wonderful. Small but cozy, nice, friendly and attentive staff. but most importantly, their sushi is on point! I don’t want want to call myself a sushi snob. but I’ve had my fair share of fresh sushi. Not only is the price fair for Japanese food in SF’s Soma District, or just about anywhere in SF but their food rocks. It was my first time trying this place out and I’m definitely going to be back. Notable items to order(imo): Spicy Tuna Roll Amaebi Nigiri Tekka Sashimi Lion King Roll(not on their menu) Dragon Roll Try it out and you will taste that fresh fresh! Eat good, live good. :)

Lovely, cozy place. Prompt and friendly service. I ordered a miso soup, an Octopus Rolls and White Tuna Rolls. Both were pretty good(Really couldn’t have asked for more for a $ 4.50 portion!) I do wish they added some seaweed in the miso soup though. It’s still delicious nonetheless. Next time you’re downtown and crave some non-rip-off Japanese food, spend an extra 10 min to catch a bus/train down here. It’s worth it!

Surprisingly very good for lunch. $ 9.95 for a regular chicken teriyaki plate. I went with the slightly more expensive $ 11.95 combo that included several pieces of california rolls. Decent rolls and tender chicken breast with crispy skin, although it was slightly too sweet/salty since it was doused heavily with teriyaki sauce. All entrees comes with miso soup, salad, and rice.

3.5 stars I’ve been to this spot twice, partly because there are surprisingly few good sushi spots in Soma. It’s definitely a hole in the wall but the sushi selection and service are good. The restaurant was pretty empty on the weekend, but I’m guessing that’s because the location is out of the way if you don’t live or work in Soma. The menu here is pretty standard, and I’ve been happy with my order both times. If you’re just looking for a quick sushi fix, this is not a bad choice.

I ordered from 24 hour eats and the food was delivered under 45 minutes. I ordered the agadashi tofu and the spicy vegetable roll with brown rice and the mushroom roll with brown rice. They do charge $ 1 extra for the brown rice which is fine since most places charges $ 2 extra. Their rolls were crunchy, fresh and with great flavors. The agadashi tofu was prepared differently than most Japanese places. They didn’t have a batter on it which was definitely healthier. The sauce that accompanied the agadashi tofu had just the right touch of lime juice. Everything was quite delicious.

Allow me to review the CA Roll w/Real Crab & the Golden Gate Roll! These rolls were delicious! I ordered from Eat24 and although the time was quoted 45 – 60 minutes, it came in under 30! The delivery man was really nice! I know these rolls are pretty basic, but they deliciousness! And believe it or not I’ve had these rolls from other places that really messed them up! These were full of flavor and overall im pleasantly surprised! Would definitely recommend!

This is some no foofy bullshit sushi, no seriously. Most sushi places have all kinds of sauces and stuff on/around the rolls. This was just the roll like it should be. Amazing taste… YUM! Melts in the mouth perfectly and gives a foodgasm like crazy! Definetly in the top5 fav sushi place! Can I get an AMEN for real wasabi? Miso soup was the only«not that great» thing. But who cares! :-)
