Really enjoy their portion sizes on their Chirashi and with a price to match! However, this is the second instance where it took 20+ minutes on my order. I can understand if there was an overwhelming line of customers or a huge order, but 20+ minutes on a chirashi is a little bit insane especially if you consider the idea of a «fast food’ sushi truck.

I used to like them. I really did… And then the woman taking orders didn’t speak English(order was frequently wrong and I was regularly overcharged). I went back today specifically because she wasn’t there taking orders. What a mistake! The new guy also struggled with taking orders(which is forgivable) but finding hair *and* undercooked chicken in my meal isn’t forgivable.

I had the Unagi Donburi today for lunch at the SFSU food truck. It was great! The unagi was hot and fresh as well as delicious!

This review is only based on the Lobster Fries. Saw the truck at Evergreen Off The Grid this morning. We ordered the Lobster Fries, super thick cut fries topped off wit lobster salad. The lobster was good but I thought it came with way too much sauce. The fries came with two sauces — tasted like spicy mayo and a teriyaki sauce. I wish they had takoyaki, as the other reviewers said they had ordered and recommended, but they didn’t. Additionally, I would of preferred it with thinner cut fries. Got our order in 5 minutes, pretty quick. I would come back again and maybe try some other things on their menu.

I’ve tried the crunchy crab and crunchy spicy tuna rolls twice from the Belmont Off the Grid, and both times the rolls were fried too long. The fish & crab was sparse and extremely dry. Seems like you’re only eating crunch and oil. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be back. Disappointing food for a food truck.

It’s kinda hard for me to give We Sushi a solid rating because every time I visit them, they’re almost always out of something that I want on their menu. But from what I’ve had it’s a pretty decent truck. When I first tried them out I had their Classic Sushi Burrito and their Takoyaki. Classic Sushi Burrito – assorted sashimi and assorted veggies While not quite the same size and fillings as Sushirrito, was a nicely sized roll and had a good amount of fish inside. Takoyaki – The Takoyaki was good. Pretty much your basic fried octopus pancake balls. Not much else to say about it. When I visited them recently at Off The Grid Belmont, I tried their lobster tacos. Lobster Tacos – lobster salad, light wasabi dressing, cucumber, avocado, corn tortillas These were good but a little messy. Nice flavor though with the wasabi dressing. We Sushi is a truck that I wouldn’t mind visiting again. I’d like to try their other Sushi Burritos. specialty rolls and their bento boxes.

I just went to your truck for the 4th time, and this has been one of the worst experiences ever. Guy who was at the truck who took my order was rude, didn’t even address concerns about my questions which was to see what kind of vegetable tempura they had. On top of that there was only one customer ahead of me, I ordered a ton-katsu curry. Very basic, nothing else requested, yet it takes 20 minutes to get my order? With meal prep and everything, it only takes about 10 – 15 minutes at most. You have two chefs right? One is chatting away, the person who came back did nothing but stand there at the front when it was completely dead with no customers, and have the nerve to tell me that pork takes at least 15 minutes to cook? You deep fry the tonkatsu, and you should’ve had it prepared already by the time you start to serve. We are not your first customers, don’t give me excuses, and don’t be cursing in the back in Spanish. If you did spit on my food, thank you for that, it probably made the curry a lot better. Oh and the salad dressing mixed up in my curry sauce. Thank you for that, I didn’t order it that way but you guys have zero effs to give right? Your customer service needs to step it up a notch. And so does your food handling. Not washing your hands before meal prepping is a big no no. Yes I watched it.

They were one of the food trucks at my company during an event. I ordered their lobster crunch because the 4 people in front of me all got it. It was amazing! Loved the light batter, fresh fish, and the spicy mayo drizzled over it. I would definitely eat there again!

Work! It’s moved me to an isolated part of town where the only fresh sushi you’ll see is off the Pier where murky green algae water resides! For almost half of my forever, I’ve kept my distance from roach-coach-sushi-food-trucks because I can’t imagine how fresh fish can be from a truck? For sure, it was like asking for a butt explosion waiting to happen. So, what’s a girl to do when sushi craving strikes??? Desperate times comes desperate measures! I wanted sushi and I want it now! Instead of me going to sushi, sushi has found me… at Off the Grid on Front Street. Since sushi is not easily accessible to me anymore and I was CRAVING it, I dropped all my fears into the Pier and took a gamble with We Sushi. OMF-GOD-AMAZING! My taste buds couldn’t believe how amazing it was. If anyone was going to prove me wrong, it was going to be We Sushi. I ordered the Chirashi Bowl($ 9.50) and a side of Cali Roll($ 5). The sashimi was fresh, plump, succulent and extremely delicious. I was surprised at the quality, freshness and size of each piece. The rice was seasoned very well and popped with the taste of vinegar. However, there were 2 downsides to their dishes… mushy rice and fake crab meat. The rice was mushy on both my Chirashi bowl and Cali Roll. For a $ 5 Cali roll with 6 pieces, I would like to see at least a mix of fake with real crab meat but instead, it was 100% fake crab. I have to admit, I did enjoy both dishes and all my inhibition of sushi served on a truck has diminished. I took a risk, tried it out and now my fears of butt explosions from these trucks are gone…

Sushi from a truck would have totally turned my stomach when street food consisted of Hot Dogs and Halal Carts(in NYC) and Taco Trucks and Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs(in SF). However, given how gourmet(and sanitary) street food has gotten, I’m not phased at all as I see their high end sushi refrigerator humming away in the truck as they freshly make each roll. As with sushi in general, a single roll will probably not fill you up so you’ll have to spend twice as much to get as full as you would from a Chicken Tikka Masala burrito. But hey, if you’re craving sushi, it’s totally worth it. Lobster Crunch: This roll marries two of my favorite things: lobster & deep fried! The roll is of typical sushi girth, but there are generous chunks of lobster meat(…since some places skimp on lobster) with a bit of avocado. It’s then deep fried for a nice crunchy tempura crust on the outside. It’s so good you probably don’t even need the soy sauce and wasabi to mask the flavor. A great unique signature dish to try. We Sushi Burrito: A very generous portion of raw fish, slighty seared fish and fake crab. Definitely a good value in terms of fish content. However, I’m a little spoiled by Sushirrito. There were no exotic spices or crunchy textures mingling about; it’s like an oversized sushi roll with lettuce. So overall a bit bland, but plentiful.

I was hesitant at first, am so impressed by the quality of the sashimi coming out of this food truck! They catered at our work so I’ve had their Lobster Crunch(8), Chirashi(9.5), and Wakame Salad(4) on at least 5 different occasions. I was obsessed with them at one point and would troll their website and our work’s lunch menus trying to figure out where they would be. The Lobster Crunch is fine(not a huge fan of deep fried rolls), but the Chirashi is where it’s at. Such a steal(10 pieces of fishies!) and each time I’ve had it, it’s been pretty fresh.

I would definitely never ordinarily trust a food truck peddling sushi unless Unilocal said it was alright. That being said, I’m kinda glad I did. We Sushi makes mostly deep fried sushi items(presumably because they’re in a food truck) and also some fresh items like poke salad and a sushi burrito. I went with the reviews and picked up the lobster crunch roll($ 8), which I thought was a steal for lobster, but the portion size ended up being kinda small. Still, the combination of buttery lobster, avocado, and special sauce on top of deep-fried coating made it one of the most decadent, savory sushi rolls I’ve ever eaten. So, yes, it was great haha. Still, the casual prep environment made itself known. The coating was loosely joined, making it fall apart with annoying frequency. Additionally, the sushi ginger and wasabi weren’t completely dry when placed into my box, leading to nasty looking wasabi-mayo-water soup that pooled around the edges(thank god, water + deep fried coating = the worst). All cosmetic issues? Yes, but still annoying nonetheless. Still, if you’re looking for something to fill you up, their chicken teryakii bento($ 8) is the same price and was literally 4x the size of the rolls. So that’s an option. My coworker got it and she’s pretty happy with it. Overall, these guys have a lot of selection(though they were sold out of their lobster taco by 12pm. What gives?), so I’d feel bad giving them a 3 based on just a couple of dishes. Still, what I had was tasty, despite all the setbacks, and there’s still plenty left to discover, so I’ll be back. — sweet: surprisingly tasty for a food truck selling sushi haha; good selection. bitter: presentation issues, price/portion ratio

Tried their Sushi Burrito at Off The Grid Cupertino and was pleasantly surprise by the freshness & flavor. Using salmon is always a safe(but tasty) choice … I love salmon so no complaints here. The size of the burrito is smaller than a normal-sized Mexican burrito but it was tightly packed & it satisfied my hunger. A food truck worth trying if you’re at OTG :)

I love sushi SO much! And this food truck makes me very happy! The sushi is great and different and you can get a sushi burrito!!! YES you read that right a burrito size wrapped in seaweed with sushi rice and yummy raw fish and some veg inside!!! I was in heaven! Sadly I had already agreed to share it with my husband… but because we share we got to try the lobster crunch roll which was delicious! Freshly fried tamper lobster in yummy sushi rolls! We got a lobster taco too but sadly half of it dropped on the ground… =(but the half I had was scrumptious!

Sushi from a Food Truck… Does this feel like the car insurance commercial? Sushi: Good. Food Truck: Good. Sushi from a Food Truck: Ehhh??? Fear Not. This place does a great job. As I mentioned in a recent review, I’ve always thought I had an allergy to fish, so when I recently discovered that this is not the case, I concurrently discovered that Sushi is pretty addictive. I saw the Off the Grid schedule(BTW — Sign up for this e-mail!) and saw that We Sushi would be making a stop at OtG: UN Plaza. I Unilocaled it, and seeing the glowing reviews from two of my most trusted Unilocal sources, Cherylynn N. and Susy C., I set a reminder on the ‘olé IPhone just so I wouldn’t forget the next day. I was not disappointed. I’ve tried a few things on the menu now. The Lobster Crunch Roll is flat-out decadent. This is a lightly fried roll with Lobster chunks, Avocado, and topped with a Spicy Mayo. Yum! It’s hard to describe how rich each piece is, and how it just melts in your mouth. They have similar versions of the California Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. Go with the Lobster. I’ve also tried their Lobster Tacos — which is really a Lobster Tostada. Good Lobster Flavor and it’s finished with mango. The Goyza are decent — although pretty greasy. I am pleasantly surprised to report that the quality of the Nigiri was very good. I’ve had the Albacore and the Salmon, and both were solid. Although(and this is not a knock) I really prefer to actually be sitting down with space to dip my Nigiri in Soy Sauce. I HATE having to use Soy Sauce packets. Overall, I have been very satisfied with my visits here. There is a good selection of additional options that I’ve not yet tried, and it’s definitely on the list for a return trip. If you see the truck and are in the mood for Sushi, Fear Not THIS Sushi Food Truck. It’s well worth a try. BTW — It is probably 4-Star food, but the novelty of Sushi Food Truck means 5!

I just realized ordering sashimi from a food truck is like playing a game of Russian roulette. Instead of rolling the barrel of a revolver and pulling the trigger at your temple, you’re wondering how fresh the fish could be since you can’t see inside the truck. So in Unilocal terms, a five-star rating would mean it was really fresh like you went to second base with the Gorton’s fisherman, a two-star rating would mean someone may need to call an ambulance with a stomach pump, and a one-star rating would mean, well… all I can say is that the service was lovely and that the potato salad at your wake was absolutely delicious. My personal experience with We2 Sushi didn’t require reserving a cemetery plot in advance, but it wasn’t incredible either. Maybe that’s why I ordered the $ 9.50 Chirashi. It reminds of the type of plate my mom would have made since she wasn’t a sushi-making expert. Jamie W. and I were at SoMa StrEat Food Park after a trip to Costco, and we catered to our respective proclivities for an early dinner. When we met at the table, he was surprised I took a risk with raw fish. Appropriately paranoid, I started sniffing the chirashi. Nope, no foul stench was evident but I wasn’t taken back to the sea with Gilligan and the Skipper either. It was satisfying enough with a nice variety of fish accompanied by a bit of ginger, sprouts and shredded carrot and red onion, all over a bed of sticky sushi rice(photo: ). Not bad but some part of me felt like I was facing a drugged-out Christopher Walken in that roulette scene from«The Deer Hunter». FOOD — 3 stars… not bad, not amazing chirashi will do if you really have a craving in a food truck park AMBIANCE — 3 stars… it’s a pink truck, not much else to say(photo: ) SERVICE — 3.5 stars… pretty quick in coming out TOTAL — 3 stars… sashimi from a food truck is a dicey proposition, proceed with caution

I always try to go to Sunnyvale Off The Grid. This Thursday was no exception I rolled to OFF The Grid in my Work Whip Big Ken. I parked in my Seceret Spot and rolled into Off The Grid. This is where I ran into the We Sushi Truck . I perused the Menu and decided on the Chirashi . I paid with my Discover Card and waited about 10 minutes while they prepared my order. I picked up my Order and was quite satisfied with the presentation of my Raw Fish . The Fish was fresh to the taste and the Tamago was fresh. I enjoyed my meal and will have to try their other Menu items at future off the Grids.

mmmm chirashi and lobster roll Dang, how can you not like chirashi served from a truck? I wish I can get chirashi from a truck all day! The crunchy lobster roll was not bad – definitely crunchy, with at least some taste of lobster salad inside. The chirashi is not bad – the sashimi was not consistently cut, but looked very colorful/fresh, and tasted nice. The rice was also tasted fresh as well. Overall, I would say the food quality is close to a normal sushi shop or sushi from a japanese supermarket. Again, how can you not like chirashi served from a Truck! Can’t touch this.

Pricey for the quantity(small portions) Chirashi — 4 types of fish, 2 pcs each, half of the container rice — sushi rice was very flavorful but rather moist Fish is decent but not amazing. Maguro was not super fresh Rainbow roll — small, seaweed is really wet(prob from the rice) and the crab mix is really wet as well rather mayo-y
