The pork belly sandwich is where it’s at. The exceptionally scrumptious nature of the pork belly left me in near tears as I inhaled the last bite. Go here. Eat here. Leave satisfied. It’s that easy

Not only is this my absolute favorite breakfast sandwich in the city(and I’ve tried every other breakfast sandwich I could find!) but also THEPEOPLE who run this café — Lieng, his wife Mona, and the other employees — bring joy and kindness to this neighborhood. They have brought a neighborhood place to the Inner Sunset. Now back to the food, everything is amazing. The breakfast sandwich, eggplant feta sandwich, goat cheese beets vegi sandwich, and Asian tuna sandwich are my favorites. And I don’t even eat the meat items! The wooly pig and the banh mi are very popular :) Thank you Lieng and Mona for all you do!

With no estimation this has become by far my fav breakfast place in the neighborhood. Occasionally I will stop for lunch too and order the best soup or a sandwich. The owners are friendly and welcoming. It’s always busy but not so you can’t find a place to enjoy your perfect breakfast. Recommended!

Wooly Pig is kind of a nice little gem in the inner sunset area! I think its convenient(especially if you’re at UCSF), it has great sandwiches and is one of the few places I’ve been to so far where I feel like I would continue coming back! The staff are really nice, and service is not bad! Seating is limited, so it’s not good for a group lunch! I imagine individuals or groups no larger than 3 being able to comfortably sit along with other customers. I had my reservations about trying their banh mi(no jalapenos), but I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was(it was filling too!). $ 7 can buy you something really exquisite and I’m pretty picky about my viet sandwiches so Wooly does a great job at making it delicious. The bread wasn’t overly toasted, my sandwich meaty, with a mix of key vegetable ingredients, spicy mayo to top it off! I mean. it was memorable for me and I’ve been back since my first visit to get it! I think that’s a pretty important characteristic for any establishment to have so kudos! Thanks Wooly! ~chow!

I was in the Golden Gate Park area, and considering the great reviews for Wooly Pig, I decided to give it a try. It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood, and there’s outside seating in addition to seating that wraps around the window. I ordered the blackberry lemonade and Wooly Pig sandwich. The blackberry lemonade didn’t really taste like blackberry, but I enjoyed it anyway. The meat inside the sandwich was a bit too thick and tough for me, but it tasted good and filled my stomach. The couple next to me was drinking coffee out of mugs with really cute pigs on them, but unfortunately my lemonade was just in a plastic container. Definitely a really peaceful place to sit and watch life go by. There’s supposed to be free wifi, but I think it’s locked. There also aren’t outlets, so you can’t really camp out.

I just ate possibly the best sandwich in my life. And I have over 40 years of sandwich eating experience. Slow roasted Kahlúa pulled pork, green cabbage, jalapeño slaw, BBQ sauce. and, wait for it… Funyuns! The cook on the pork was amazing. Soft, tender, warm, delicious. I liked the bun, the sauce, the meat, the spice and all the other goodies. Seriously, I wanted to take this sandwich to bed and cuddle with it awhile. And, if I wasn’t already taken, propose to it in the morning.

The Wooly pig is a decadent«Shanghai style braised caramel pork belly, organic arugula, pickled shallots on toasted brioche bun». Get ready for a flood of unctuous porkiness, both salty and slightly sweet, with a great contrast from the arugula. I would definitely advise newbies to WPC to try this item, as it is what they’re known for. Vietnamese banh mi of «Traditional Vietnamese pork cold cuts, pâté, pickled carrots and daikon, fresh herbs and jalapenos, siriracha aioli on a French roll. This item is a bit pricey, but decent in flavor and freshness. I still, however, prefer the $ 2.50/loaf deals in the south bay. The pesto panini is decent. I only chose this item because they ran out of breads for all of their sandwiches. Hot, gooey, cheesy, and fragrant with pesto, this sandwich was satisfactory. For the price though, I’d rather have one of their other more unique offerings. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is light and pleasant, but definitely not up to snuff in strength or sweetness to traditional Vietnamese coffee. Limited seating indoors, perhaps a bit more space outdoors. Cash only. I would really like to give their sandwich specials and panna cotta a try next time I’m in the neighborhood.

Fantastic sandwich shop! I really loved my experience at Wooly Pig Café. I was at Golden Gate Park, looking for something to eat nearby, found Wooly Pig on Unilocal and decided to head over. They were actually closing in 10 minutes and ran out of the Wooly Pig sandwich so I decided to come back the next day. So glad that I did! I ordered the Wooly Pig($ 7) — braised caramel pork belly, organic arugula, and fried shallots on a toasted brioche bun. It was delicious! I loved the soft, flavorful pork belly and although the arugula has a strong flavor, it pairs very nicely with the meat. The bun was also soft, easy to cut, and goes well with the tender pork belly in your mouth. I also ordered the Briny Egg($ 7) — fresh herb egg salad, capers, cornichons, and anchovies on an open face ciabatta. This was also an eggcellent choice! Especially if you like egg salad. There was a perfect hint of anchovies, but it’s possible you might get a salty bite. The ciabatta bread on the Briny Egg was a little harder(to cut)(not stale though) than the Wooly Pig. The Briny Egg was delicious and a great, light sandwich. One of the best egg salad sandwiches I’ve had! Our service was excellent. The owner was very polite, friendly, and helpful. Our food came out in very reasonable time. The shop is small, clean, comfortable, and simply decorated. There is limited seating indoors and outdoors with small tables. The menu is small, yet superbly delicious. They also have a couple of daily specials listed on the little chalkboard in front of the register. The Wooly Pig Café is located just a block away from Golden Gate Park and not too far from UCSF. Parking can be hard to find though… but find it… cuz it’s worth it. This is definitely a great place to come for a nice lunch.

Unexpected gem in the inner sunset! Went for a run early in the morning and needed something delicious and filling near the park/ucsf. We got two breakfast sandwiches and a chicken udon coconut soup to share. The breakfast sandwich was pretty big(lots of egg) and good – we asked for sriracha which was just what was needed to take it over the top. But what was by far the best thing we had –maybe the best thing I’ve tasted in weeks – was the chicken soup. SOOOOOOGOOD! Run, don’t walk to get this soup. It was a chilly day and I wanted something warm to go with my sandwich and I had no idea how good this soup would be. Perfectly balanced coconut milk base with chili oil, Bok Choy, udon, and chicken. Spicy but not overpowering. If there was a spin-off restaurant that only served this soup and nothing else, I would be there everyday. It’s THAT good! The owner was very sweet and the service here is kind! Menu has lots of options but isn’t too overwhelming. My partner has had the wooly pig sandwich and likes it. The breakfast pastries looked good and they have a good selection of teas. I would definitely recommend it and I’ll be back :)
