I’ve been in here a few times and I always order their dessert empanadas, which always hit the spot. Never overly sweet and warm, light and flaky. Today I had the banana empanada and it was delicioso.

Good, fast, no-frills empanadas place. Friendly customer service. Had the argentine beef and aji chicken, both were tasty but aji was the better of the two. For its casual atmosphere, it is a bit on the pricy side for a full meal, but just the two empanadas were a reasonable light dinner.

I walked in on the way to see my friend on 25th and just wanted a quick bite. The empanadas are delicious. There really isn’t much else to elaborate on. The service is great too, but the most important part is just the sheer fact that they make really good empanadas.

When I heard of a restaurant dedicated to empanadas I decided to make it the first stop of my gastric journey through the Mission. I had visions of steaming flaky pastry giving way to a riot of flavor, needless to say I let my imagination run a little wild and found myself pouting like a small child when presented with the unimaginative reality. All hard crust and no yummy filling reward. The atmosphere does however lend itself to a restive hour sipping a glass of Argentinian wine while people watching and is the the saving grace of this small café. Skip the empanadas and sip at your leisure.

Excellent little Argentinian spot. Stopped here on a whim with the hubs while in the neighborhood. Had some breakfast and Argentinian beef empanadas along with a coffee. Really yummy, hit the spot. Cozy and clean little place with friendly service. Bought a couple more to take home and would definitely come back.

Good flavored — had the mushroom empanada — but barely any filling. Not bad, but there are better places.

I just got their gluten free spinach empanadas. Gross and gluey. Mostly cheese encased in tapioca flour. Barely any spinach at all. Three stars because I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt on their normal flour empanandas.

Breakfast empanadas with egg and spinach with chimichurri is the best in the mission. Not salty and it is very tasty with fluffy fresh eggs. Nice staff and quick service. Centrally located. Lots of empanadas variety.

I ordered 3 empanadas to go. 1 kale and 2 Mediterranean @3.90 a piece. Paid 12.79(with the taxes) When I got home and sit down to eat I only have TWO in the bag. Not to mention 1 of the 2 is wrong!!! This place had me and one other person eating here. Not that busy how can you f up that bad? I work in the food industry! What a f&$^% rip off.

This place is easy breezy, has pretty good food, and is conveniently located right by my apartment. I’m a big fan. I always get the spicy beef empanada, mushroom empanada, and a side of potato salad. I’m such a creature of habit, so this is literally the only meal I’ve ever ordered. However, I can tell you that the empanadas, with the side of potato salad, and their delicious sauces are. divine. I always manage to eat the entire thing, and I’m always left craving more(although I don’t need it). There have been a few times when I get an additional side of potato salad and take it home for later. or eat it directly after. I mean, who knows?! The place seems to be relatively not busy most of the time, and I think I know why. The reasoning for my 4⁄5 review. The prices aren’t so great. How do you rationalize spending $ 16 on 2 empanadas and a side of potato salad? I never want the price of something to halt me from purchasing it, but I have to admit that I’d be INLOVE with this place if the prices were a little more reasonable. Empanadas aren’t that big, so why are they being priced as such. Especially considering their are some very tasty Mexican spots right up the street. All in all, I will continue to dine at this fabulous establishment, while still being mildly annoying at the prices.

Don’t understand the Unilocal ratings– everything I’ve had here is delicious and their chimchurri sauce is like CRACK. Love this place

A cute urban hole in the wall with empanadas, alfajores, wine and a few other things. Not bed but very skimpy in the filling. My empanadas very almost empty and alfajores barely had any filling.

Came here with friends the other night. Between three of us we tried 5 different kinds of empanadas. 2 out of 3 people got food poisoning. :/

I wanted a snack in the mission district, so I decided to try the spinach empanada and a coffee. The décor is cute. It’s an order at the counter kind of place. They have quite a variety of empanada. I had the spinach one. Honestly, it was OK to me. It had a bit mor e dough than I wanted. It was fine, though.

Please – reduce the size of your empanadas and increase the amount of filling. Our empandas were mostly hollow and had very little filling. I ended up with a ton of crust. The sauces were yummy and the service was super friendly. It is still a good spot but not the best empanadas.

At $ 3.90 an empanada, it’s a deliciously low budget find on Valencia. That chimmichurri sauce is something else! I douse my empanadas with it– thank god each table has a jar of it– and it just makes everything that much better. An empanada on its own is a bit bland, so make full use of the condiments! Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and I usually get an empanada with a lentil salad for a super filling meal. Their alfajores are a little pricey compared to other nearby bakeries, but if you’re here and you haven’t had one before, get one! Crumbly, melt in your mouth sweetness. One of their best kept secrets — the dulce de leche mousse. It’s so downplayed, what with it being in the fridge on the side and all, but it is DELICIOUS! It’s fluffy, light, and not too sweet. Trust me, there’s no guilt in finishing a little tub of this stuff on your own.

The mushroom empanadas are really good. Also enjoyed the Kale ones. In general they are much less filling than I expected. Got two this time but could easily eat three or four. At ~$ 4 a pop that makes this place a little expensive for a meal in my opinion but good for a snack.

Venga empanadas! Venga empanadas! La la la la la *tunes playing in my head with the drum beatings at a fiesta or something* I like this place. Mostly because of their empanadas and alfajores. Sweets! I also get my coffee here.

I think this is a family-owned joint, and just for that, I wanted to love it. These home style empanadas(oven-baked dough, not the flaky kind) left me wishing for more flavor after each bite. I had the caprese and the corn, bell pepper, mozzarella empanadas. I tried the 3 salsas they offer and ended up feeling even more disappointed. They were pretty underwhelming, and needed more spice factor. Sad, I tell you, I wanted to love this place.

Really cute empanada shop where everything is homemade and ready for easy takeout. About eight different kinds of empanadas — meat and vegetarian — and four different kinds of salads plus Argentine cookies, single cup brewed gourmet coffee, beer, wine and juices await you. Line up at the counter to order, grab your own salads and drinks and the rest is delivered to your table. The place is small and seems to be mostly a takeout place. Two empanadas each plus a salad to share was plenty of food. They also sell freshly made chimichurri which would make a great gift. I’ve only had empanadas once or twice before so I’m no expert. Some were better than others and they are infinitely better with the chimichurri sauce they give you. As we left, a woman came in and said in a heavy accent, «I’m from Argentina and this is the real Argentine food, the best in the city.» Can’t get a better recommend than that!
