I was flying right class of cabin to ICN to enjoy this lounge for the second time in a month. This lounge, due to the fact that you have to be either flying international global first or global first status to gain entry, it’s pretty empty especially in the morning. Their morning food selection is better than regular United lounge, but it’s not something to write home about. They, however, have good selection of liquor. I’ve learned that their lunch & dinner selections are much better. Regardless, it’s quiet and comfortable place to relax and wait for your international flight. They have adequate shower facility you’re able to utilize.

Nice lounge. Way better than the other United Clubs @ SFO. Don’t plan on getting in unless you have a Global First ticket or are Global Services with an international business class ticket. Great place to take a shower if you come in from a long haul flight, waiting for a connection and the arrivals lounge is closed. The Global First lounge at Heathrow is a bit nicer.

As far as first class lounges are concerned this place is mediocre compared to many I have been in over the years. For an American carrier it’s quite ok. Comfortable seating in a quiet surrounding. The distinct lack of service personnel was disappointing. There is free wifi and a small selection of papers and mags. Food is average. The selection of hot and cold food is ok and nothing special. The drinks are also average and once again nothing special. The quality of food and beverages are sub par compared to other Asian or European first class lounges I have ever been to. I only came here as it was shared with Lufthansa otherwise no reason for me to visit here ;-)

For any of my Global First flights to Asia, I specifically book my flight out of San Francisco so I can rest in this lounge. It is exclusive to global first class passengers and has comfortable seating in addition to recliners in a dark room for passengers that want to rest. It didn’t have a sake bar like Narita’s Global First, but there were numerous brands of sake to choose from. For the US, this is one of the best.

Folks please, puhleeze and more pleas. I read here about the first class lounge and $ 14 for champagne, tip the bartender etc. coffee in cardboard cups. Once and for all here it is: The UnitedFirst class lounge is only for international passengers, flying first class. You heard me, first class, not business nor restroom class. Its entrance is on the main floor level and you show your boarding pass, and when approved, use the elevator or walk down one flight of stairs. You cannot enter the boarding area from the lounge. When you are ready to leave you go back upstairs, walk a bit on the main floor corridor and take the escalator to the boarding area where the huddled masses wait to board. International First have their own line to get aboard. The lounge has an open bar, you pour your own drinks, beer, wine, champagne, after dinner drinks. They change the food selection from breakfast, lunch and then dinner. My favorite are the large shrimp, and the sushi selection. Staff is constantly moving around, picking up dishes and coffee cups, talking to passengers and being helpful. There are showers in the back, you get also get your shoes shined and clothing pressed. I have not used any of these services except the food and beverage departments. There are large screen t.v.s, quiet area, business area. All the pay telephones though have been removed, a problem when wanting to call an 800 toll free number. This lounge is not the new United, formerly called Red Carpet. The United Lounge leaves a lot to be desired. I noticed on the bar were flattened dollar bills at each sitting position, indicating to leave money for the bartender. Such an insult to the customer. Again the lounge I am talking about is only for passengers flying first class. I like that, my cabin has about 8 seats in it and 2 are reserved for the pilot and co pilot to take a nap during their flying break time. The space is good, the luggage allowance to Asia is two 70 pound cases, down from three a few years ago. If you have enough flier miles, use them to go first class. The Incheon Korea first class lounge is super dooper and next door to the business class lounge. Some of us like exclusivity and that’s what you get when you spend the money to ride u p front next to the cockpit. Otherwise, please use the restroom in your appropriate cabin and stay downstairs, Thank you. :)

Take a load off and relax before you take a load off and relax. I’ve been in this lounge a few times when traveling to Asia and its always calm and quiet. Not as fun and rowdy as the United Club at the top of the terminal. Of course the food is better here with smoked salmon, sushi, wraps and roast beef. When I say«better», I’m not talking amazing or anything but it’s what I’ve grown to expect from United. The beverages are middle of the road quality but hey, it’s gratis. The staff is extremely helpful with any travel questions. Keep an eye on the time as there are no announcements and no ticket board. They lose a star for that. You have the ticket, might as well enjoy the space. What else are you going to do?

A comfortable place to relax before flying. Consistently fine food & drink. Nothing special though, & not nearly so nice as other first class lounges I’ve visited.

Way less crowded than United Club Lounge and food/drink selection definitely up a notch. Excellent and pleasant service at front counter. Service staff was very attentive. This place feels more like a lounge but has a long way to go before reaching the splendor of Asian airport lounge like Narita, Singapore, Incheon, …

Lounge has a real 80’s vibe to the décor, but the room is pretty quiet and the bubbles(Ruinart) quite acceptable. The sliced tenderloin nice accompaniment. Staff perfectly cheerful and helpful, but the place is missing… Something. Panache perhaps. Nonetheless, a good place to start your preflight mellow.

Relative to normal UA lounges, this is one of the best and would be 5 stars. Relative to all US domestic lounges, 4 stars. Relative to an actual international first class lounge(e.g. Cathay HKG, Qantas SYD/MEL, Lufthansa, etc) more like a 2.5 star. This lounge is restricted United or Star alliance passengers leaving SFO on a long haul international first itinerary or arriving from international first. If you’re arriving from an international flight and connecting to a domestic flight, you can chill here but be aware that since it’s the international terminal, while it is connected post-security it’ can be a good 15 – 20 minute trek to the rest of the United domestic gates. It’s physically a level below the gates, and you have a great up close and personal view of one of the many United 777 or 747s if you’re an avgeek. Given the mostly trans-pacific routes, the food is mostly fresh fruit, cheese, sandwiches/roll ups, some mid range charcuterie, california rolls, and a hot western/asian soup. When I was there, the only hot option was a beef and egg noodle asian soup or chicken noodle. In terms of booze, decent selection of pour your own liquor(eg macallan, patron, bombay sapphire, etc). In terms of popping bottles, they have Ruinart champagne on deck along with an assortment of wine and some local beers. If you’re coming off a long haul flight or just like showering in airports, they do have good shower rooms with the signature philosophy amenities, razors, etc. Given the access rules, it is pretty quiet and chill, but a little underwhelming considering it’s supposed to be for ballers flying in paid international first class, and thus, a true first world problem to complain about.

I’m in the first class lounge by gate 80. First, I am coming from Hawaii to DC and have a 3 hour layover in SFO. First class ticket the whole way. Walked into lounge with ticket and was told lounge is for international travelers only. So I had a free pass I whipped out even though I still think what they told me was BS and went to bar and ordered a gin and tonic and was told it was $ 11. This experience alone made me rethink United as my preferred airline.

Restrooms are a mile away. There is just one power outlet in the entire lounge, and 2 out of the 4 are not working. Thank United!

It has an open bar! FINALLY! A United Lounge that has an open bar in the states, since all the United Business Lounges lack an open bar. Instead, they just have a bar when you can order your drink, pay for premium alcohol, and tip the bartender. Absolutely love that this place is completely open bar — with unlimited champagne, red wine, white wine, hard liquor, japanese alcohol, you name it. Food wise: there’s sushi, fruits, cheese(more than just the packaged cheese you get at the business lounge, thou they also have that here!), crackers, pastries, nuts(that you would get on the plane and deliciously salted), and ghirardelli caramel chocolate squares — covering all the rages of sweet and salty. Though I would have to say, I still love the Cathay Pacific Business Class lounge more… I mean… They have a noodle bar that makes fresh ramen or noodles for you on demand! The lounge is much nicer than the business lounge, but I have to say — I was pretty surprised at how many people come in and out of this Global First Class lounge! Tons of ballaz~~~

My husband kept going on and on about how much he liked the shrimp cocktail and carved meats here. He says they were quality and that this is the best lounge food he’s had. I also appreciated the selection of stuff like hummus and wraps. There was sushi but it was sitting there for hours. There are lots of self-serve drinks as per usual in a lounge. There are showers, but I didn’t partake. It was a big lounge and very quiet. at one point, we were the only people there. Nice place.

As an admiral on United, this is a decent stop for me. I like the fact the vary up the food selections. I noticed since I come to these a lot.

The club is very dated. Snacks very limited. But it is still better than no club. The best deal is to get a glass of the ‘premium wine’. Jarvis Cabernet and the Stag Leap Amermis($ 15) or the Veuve Champagne($ 14) is not bad at all and for the Cabernets they give you proper bordeaux style stemware vs. a joker glass. So not bad at all, but bar closes at 10:30 daily.

This is by far the United lounge I have been in — lots of room, quiet, many food options… The International terminal looks like Continental not a United local. Except there still are no upscale non alcoholic beverages… No Perrier, Odwalla or other decent juice… But you can have selzer water, because they need that to mix w the Booz
