I had a combined cyclitic membranectomy & pupiloplasty with Dr. Stewart & scar tissue and a defective tube removed with Dr. Ou. She is just as wonderful in the or as in the office; it was done under a combination of sedatives & local & regional anesthesia; she was always making sure I was comfortable and I just could not have asked for a better experience.

This is a learning hospital so expect interns to be doing most of the basics. Leave a window of at least 2 hours open for your appointment because there are a few steps completed by different professionals or interns. That said… Dr. Horton is a professor and is teaching his interns as he works. He lost a star for not having the best bed side manner. He is very matter of fact and even left the room without addressing us with an ‘I will be right back’ or ‘just a minute’. He and did a thorough exam and explained his findings to us while allowing his interns to learn at the same time. Don’t panic if he asks his interns to take a look. It doesn’t mean he found anything. He just wants them to form their own opinion. I felt confident when I left that my eyes had the best or the best checking them out. The waiting room is extremely small with only 8 – 9 seats. The office closes until 1 for lunch and it was standing room only by the time they opened the window at 1 and started calling people back. NOTE: Do not bring small children, a stroller, and candy for them to crunch on. Adults only unless your child is being seen. If your child is being seen just bring that child so your focus is on them and not the toddler trying to run away or the tantrum the 4 year old is throwing. I love kids… there is just no room and it is so annoying to other patients in the cramped room!
