Great plumbing supply. I am a plumber, and I shop here a lot. Lots of good inexpensive supplies. Keep in mind. This is not a HARDWARESTORE, its more for professionals.

I love this place! Contrary to some of the negative reviews, the employees here are pretty helpful. I mean, seriously, do people really need to have their hands held when buying plumbing supplies? Bring in the piece you need to replace, and find the replacement. They have everything and anything you could possible need. I’ve gone to Home Depot and Lowes, searching for chrome pipes, water line filters, etc. to no avail. This place has it. Those huge box stores just do not carry SF building code items for some reason. I most recently needed to replace the metal drain cover in the garage. It was $ 15 at another«discount» building supply store, and $ 6 here! Home Depot and Lowes didn’t even know what I was talking about when I asked about it. My buddy that’s a plumber referred this place to me. I’ve been coming here ever since!

We’ve been getting our plumbing supplies from U-Save for years as the supplies are priced cheaper than places like Home Depot or Lowes. However this store is definitely geared more towards Chinese speaking contractors rather than home owners. Be sure to know exactly what you need before coming here.

I know nothing about pipes, plumbing connections, sizes, etc. and the fact that they have a HUGE inventory of items made it even more difficult for someone like me. However the man(I think he’s the owner) spent a good amount of time trying to figure out what I needed and helped me find the items/parts that I needed. I really appreciated that.

I would give this ZERO stars if I could but Unilocal only allows 1 star rating as the lowest. This place actually has a lot of things you need to maintain a household like plumbing supplies, miscellaneous screws, nuts, bolts, washers, etc. I come here only when I need to buy things for the house but I HATECOMINGHERE!!! I dread coming to this place because the customer service sucks!!! Every time I come here there is this skinny Chinese guy with glasses that stands behind the counter(maybe he is one of the owners because he is always there). Once I asked him if he carries a specific size bolt(I brought my own to match up the same size). He told me «go down that isle». There were a million different size bolts there so I asked him if he could help me match it up. Instead of showing me where the correct size bolt was, he told me is was«halfway down the isle». Was I bothering him or something? I’m trying to spend money at his store to buy a part that he sells. I’m sorry if it was too much to trouble for him to show me to correct item. This guy is rude and obviously knows nothing about how to treat customers with respect. He talks to you like you are wasting his time. He always seems like he doesn’t want to be there. Last time I wanted a water pipe adapter. He was again, rude and impatient. he asked me what I was trying to do and I told him. Then he pointed me to the adapters. When I asked him which one I needed, he got frustrated, and without saying anything just went and grabbed the one he thought I needed. people like this make you feel unappreciated and unwanted. That’s why I dread going there. I would love to go to another plumbing/hardware store where I could actually speak to a human being instead of this rude prick. These guys definitely need to learn how to treat customers better.

I have shop here before for plumbing supplies and generally know exactly what to get. The store seems to have a full compliment of supplies and the prices are probably inexpensive judging by the clientele. It is a problem here when you are hesitant or unsure of what to get. Like Chu Supply further down on 42nd/Lawton, this place is run by Chinese or Asians and it seems like most of their customers are Asians. Unfortunately, it is similar to the Asian grocery stores where the employees do not speak intelligible English and rude at the same time. I had a problem with the trip lever and float ball of my Kohler Wellworth toilet and came here seeking advice or help in purchasing a new part. It appeared that the trip lever was too short and it had a tendency to pull the float ball at an angle and then the ball would not re-seat perfectly causing a slow leak. So if I got a longer trip lever that was centered towards the middle of the float ball, it would help. The woman who helped me was in her early 40’s and had a difficult time understanding what I wanted. When I tried to explain my problem, she rudely interrupted me and said I needed a longer chain. Instead of trying to explain further, I asked for new trip lever. She showed me this generic one and said it was adjustable. However, when I looked at the package, it was no longer than the one I had. I asked for a Kohler brand and she asked for the model number. I showed it to her and she said that was an obsolete number(of course I checked on the internet and it was not). When I decided not to purchase the item, she gave me a disgusting look. There is a man who worked behind the counter with glasses and my prior dealings with him was similar to this woman. Why do they feel that their rude attitude is necessary? It probably gives them a sense of superiority over us non-plumbing experts or maybe they have specific social problems. I decided to order the part from Kohler. Though it was more expensive than the generic from U Save, the Kohler reps are certainly more customer focused and knew what they were talking about. U Save is a place to go if you are in a good mood and want to be brought down to reality!

One of the few hardware stores that sell small, corner-sized sinks. Overall, they have decent prices and decent customer service.

U-Save has a very good supply for such a small location, but man the employees are rude, unhelpful and just sort of generally pissed off. They act as if they would rather sit behind their bench and not move. Maybe they are looking at killer porn on their computer and can’t get up because they have pitched a tent, still no excuse for the crappy customer service. I thought it was just me but then my buddy(who is a professional plumber) went there and he echoed my same sentiments.
