I’ve been here about 4 times now. After catching a movie at AMC I walked up to see how the spot was. The waitress let me and my lady in free and we sat down and checked out the comics on a random Wednesday, which didn’t get much better after a drink or 2. At least I got to see a fat lady get chewed out by the main comic and sit there silently with a stupid look on her face. We eventually came back for Tommy Davidson, Wayans Bros, and George Lopez, all funny. I’m not rating the comedy though. The showroom is made up of a bunch of long tables, which are set up really close together. There are a few single tables in the far back against the wall, and a bar type area near the entrance, but I don’t know how good the view is from there since there are fat posts in the room. Sitting at the tables is awkward because if you are on a certain side of a table you’re forced to turn your chair or just keep your neck turned all night. They need to have single tables set up like Punchline instead of trying to cram so many people in. As far as the service, the food is decent, I can’t judge the plates but I have ordered small appetizers which were good. There is a 2 item minimum, which doesn’t necessarily need to be alcohol. All I have to say is, if their staff can’t handle actually bringing these required items to it’s customers in a timely way, maybe they should throw that rule out the window. They aren’t very speedy and the last time I was there for George Lopez I watched everyone around me get their orders and sat waiting for mine. Then the waitress finally brought around my girl’s last drink as the others were already handing out checks. It wasn’t even a Blue Moon like she asked, but a Corona,(which I had ordered one earlier in the night) but I didn’t bother and we drank it anyway. Oh, also when we went for Tommy Davidson, they messed up on the bill and tried to charge her for drinks that I had already paid for on my card. They gave her a ticket for future free entry for her troubles. The showroom is a very nice date spot, I like the atmosphere, decent appetizers, but the service itself needs a lot of work if they want to double as a restaurant/bar.
