Monday Happy Hour Comedy

free comedy on a monday night??? score!!! who doesnt like free laughter. its a pretty cool lil deal very intimate. i sat upstairs with my beer. its nice that you can look down and watch the crowd as well as the comedian. def looking forward to next month. they also pass around a tip jar too.

On the second Monday of each month is «Monday Happy Hour Comedy» at the Café Royale (
). In each show, six or so comics, including a headliner will perform for free — yep, free (well, with a tip jar to pay whatever one wishes). Highly recommended.
A show lasts about two hours, and the comics range between Bay Area regulars, «Last Comic Standing» finalists, new comics, etc. They all seem to use this event to try new materials. Some jokes were very topical (even based on same day’s news), some worked, some bombed, but all got chuckles if not LOLs.
