Alternately«Toku Wu». Undoubtedly my fave public transit musician. I’ve read about and seen videos of him performing in cafes and such, but every time I’ve heard him live has been underground in a small circuit of BART /MUNI stations. It’s always great to run into the sounds of his jazz guitar, whether he’s solo or accompanied by the sax guy. I bought the«Travelin’ Jazz» CD from the Melody Melters, as the duo call themselves.(It’s playing as I type this.) I should try to find some of his above-ground collabs with more local artists, though I’d miss the randomness and gritty, grimy, subterranean hustle.
