Only one star because Ti Couz is no more and the space is some North Beach sports bar. RIP Ti Couz :’( Ti Couz itself rated 10000 stars, but alas… it went the way of many wonderful, San Francisco fixtures. Who needs personality and color when there’s money to be made, right? Ti Couz: You are so so so missed.

So sad Ti Couz is closed. Best restaurant in San Francisco, which is saying a lot! I have since moved to LA and have hunted high and low for something even remotely close to Ti Couz with no luck. If you find somewhere please, oh please do share.

It’s a crying shame this place has closed, and by «crying» I mean a river of bloody tears, because even though I only ever ate here once through the insistence of my friend, it was an amazing dinner experience I still cherish, especially now that it is gone. The food was one of the best not just in the Mission, but in all of San Francisco, if you ask me. By far, these are the most delicious, most savory, most complexly flavorful crepes I’ve ever-ever had, and I’ve never been able to find another place anywhere thus far, that came anywhere close to the crepes they made here. They had a wide selection of options, and the crepes were all crisp and toasty(not fluffy and soft like most places make them). I remember I had something like a breakfast crêpe, ham and egg in it, I believe, it was more than a year ago. I think my friend had something with a sauce on it, maybe the mushroom, I tried it and it was just as delicious. I savored every bite, over a pitcher of sangria. I remember my friend and I returning a few weeks later to find it closed to our complete dismay, I can only hope to find a place just as good, or for a chance they will someday return…

ONEOFMYFAVORITEPLACESINTHEMISHISCLOSED?! FML. This place was incredible. I’m sorry to see it’s gone, because I ate here for years and I haven’t been to another creperie that was as good. It was always full or had a wait list and the food was consistently good and flavorful. The coffee was excellent. Authentic menu. I hope this is only temporary.

A little story on how I ended up here… I was taking a film class at the little Roxie(2 doors down from the big Roxie) and it of course, smelled like weed everywhere. I didn’t get the munchies but my headache coupled with the professors bad teaching simply made me exit. And what better alternative activity than to EAT in the Mission! Before Ti Couz, all crepes I have had I will deem fake. You Americanos know what I’m talking about. I’m referring to the overly stuffed, pseudo stuffed pizza types that people like to call crepes. Typically in a triangle shape, these things are filled to the point where the only guarantee is that your crêpe will break. Ti Couz does it so right. With just the right ratio of crêpe to filling, and sauce if you like, it looks understated but explodes with flavor. For my filling, I got cheese and ratatouille which worked really well since the cheese helped bind the vegetables and complemented it as well. As good of a pair as Thelma and Louise. I had to get the mushroom sauce which was creamy but not heavy; yup, possible. My brother got the sausage, tomato, and cheese filling with seafood sauce on top. The best way to describe this is that it’s reminiscent of pasta or even pizza. And don’t take that as an insult because I’m glad he got something completely different. Despite how good the crepes are, you just get tired of eating bite after bite of the same flavor. The crepes look thin and meek but are so filling. Also, get the French onion soup! They make it the way I like it, on the thinner side, and have all the goodness — tons of onions, crunchy bread, covered with the right amount of

One of the best creperies in the Bay Area! I love the fact that they are made of buckwheat! They are so delicious, full of flavor. They use fresh ingredients. They have good mimosas. A very good variety of savory and sweet crepes. Definitely go there in you’re in the neighborhood, heck it’s worth a trip even if you’re in San Francisco.

I really liked the casual décor and atmosphere of this place. Plus the awning caught my eye as we were driving by, before I even knew this was the place we were planning on going! The square crepes looked really cool but it turns out they just make big round ones and fold them into squares. My friend and I decided to sit at the bar to watch the chef cook the crepes. This was really nice as we got to see a lot of the different flavors being made. We’d take pictures and the chef would pose for us, we’d ask questions, and he’d let us try some of the sauces. The seafood definitely didn’t look fresh as reflected in some other reviews. We’d just come from a dessert spot so we went with a savory crêpe, and settled on the ratatouille with mushroom sauce as that seemed a unanimously popular choice. Ratatouille w/Mushroom Sauce — the vegetables were NOT fresh. As with the seafood, they’d been sitting in containers all day. They must’ve cooked a giant batch in the morning and used it throughout the day. The vegetables were definitely soggy and old. Only one corner of our crêpe had a slight crisp — it was actually more soggy but that may be because of the extra mushroom sauce, which they pour over the whole thing. About the sauce — pretty good flavor, but it has this icky sour aftertaste. Have to say, the sausage crêpe looked good. They cook an egg sunny side up egg in it and there’s lots of meat, cooked fresh. IF I ever come back, I guess I’ll go with that one.

I walked to Ti Couz feeling stressed and depressed. It was only noon… what is wrong with me? I ordered the Salmon and Onion Crêpe. The $ 10.00 signatured crêpe had slices of lox, chopped chives and caramelized onions in a thin rye crêpe with a drizzle of crème fraîche. The savory crêpe tasted very unique and loaded with taste. Kinda reminds me of a Lox Bagel. My crêpe: I also ordered a Cosmopolitan. The $ 9.00 «Girly-girly» cocktail indeed looks a like drink for a girl. All I know that the popular cocktail comprised with Vodka and Cointreau, but I’m not sure what other kind of potent ingredient(s) the bartender put in my cocktail. Nevertherless, that cocktail got me extremely«BOMBED»! The drink: After my meal and cocktail, I felt happy and contented; despite stumbling left and right along busy 16th Street.

I don’t know what we were thinking going here AFTER Little Star but we still went… Note: they don’t serve any alcohol unless you’re eating. Just be warned b/c that’s what they told us… I shared a banana nutella crêpe with HI haole(took a couple of bites and I was done. Way too full… was saddened but I didn’t want to feel that ill!) I love their mocha here! It’s just great! The rest of my siblings ordered dessert crepes too but I forgot what they got… I remember them devouring it so they liked it. Love this place!

02.28.10 I admit, I’m not much of a girly girl. In fact, i despise much things super girly. But one of my best friends is getting married, and I have to fulfill maid of honor duties. One of which is to attend a bridal show. But not before we hit brunch. So there we are, six girls, sitting at the bar at Ti Couz. We ordered while waiting for a table. I had an apple french cider [ . It came in a bowl. I thought it was hot. The waiter led me to believe it was steaming hot. LIARS. Good sense of humor, though. So I forgive you. I had the ratatouille and mushroom crêpe [ . It’s seriously filling. I had to muster up all my strength to finish it. But it was well worth it. Gained two inches on the waistline! So don’t let the small portion size fool you! Another item off the 7×7 list.

#86 on the 7×7 List: Buckwheat crêpe and a French cider #88 on the 7×7 List: Buckwheat crêpe and a French cider –Tasty? The savory buckwheat crêpe has a nice texture and the dry French cider makes an unlikely yet interesting accompaniment –Service: Friendly –Ambiance: Rustic; plenty of bar-seating –Worth the trip/try? This place seems fun to hang out with a bunch of friends for drinks and crepes
