Great bar for neighborhood locals. The drinks are strong, the female bartender is fun, it doesn’t get too crowded at happy hour, and you can order pizza from next door. Bonus points for the digital jukebox in the back! This is my new go-to bar for Lower Pac Heights!

Great neighborhood bar. Has everything you need, small so you don’t have to line up for drinks, and the young woman at the bar — don’t remember her name but she’s always there — is super friendly and flexible. Four screens ensure continuous sports viewing. The food is extremely limited to chicken wings and chicken tenders with curly fries. Ain’t a gourmet place but you can’t knock it for that, be glad they have ANY food right? I love coming here on Sundays after Church to watch football, eat wings and drink beer — or Jameson neat ;)

This bar is small but really cool and relaxed. Not a fan of the over crowded bars where I can’t get a drink. This bar is nothing like that. And when you go, you have to get the Johnny Utah mixed drink.

It’s an OK bar with semi-decent Manhattan. It’s unassuming with an OK service. The only reason why we went here, is because the SF Athletic Pub was packed as it had a game on.

Bartender was really friendly and happy hour is from 2 – 7PM, one of the longer HHs in the city. Ordered a Moscow Mule(apart of the Happy House special) and had good conversation. Place wasn’t crowded at 3PM on a Monday(don’t judge). Bartender said it normally starts getting crowded at 5PM. Happy to say they do have Fishbowls at Fishbowl. I didn’t order one, but thought they need to have one based on their name. Also, they’re super friendly with the pizza place next door which will even deliver pizza to you while you’re at the Fishbowl. On the smaller side, but I would consider it cozy. Would come back.

Service is great! There are many friendly locals and regulars. It’s a great place to relax, dance(if you feel inclined), watch NatGeo, Discovery Ch., or sports(if you’re into that), but more importantly, it’s a great place to drink! Totally recommend this place to anyone who is looking for great conversation with good people.

We used to spend Christmas evenings here after coming home from family visits and weekend nights trying to score a boyfriend for my friend. Sadly, we have the kid now so we can no longer do our post-holiday ritual and my friend moved away, boyfriendless. But still, great people, solid drinks, and a chill spot to pop in and watch whatever sport is on.

This is my favorite little dive so far in the city. People mingle, bartenders are a blast, and drinks are cheap.

This place used to be a legit San Francisco sports bar, but today the Giants/Dodgers game(the only Bay Area game right now) is on the smallest television? September baseball, against our biggest rival, in a race for the division. it matters y’all. I can’t even tell which team is up to bat, it’s so hard to see. No wonder everybody is moving on to the SFAC. I’m closing out right now and moving on as well. Pros: good beer selection and good memories. Cons: abandoning your city’s pastimes.

Went here in the afternoon after getting off a flight from NYC — had a few beers and chatted with the friendly bartender about the area. Cool little hole-in-the wall place with a nice vibe and TVs with sports on

I love the Fishbowl. The place has a nice vibe, a good range of drinks and friendly bartenders. Its not the biggest bar so there are times when it can get pretty packed especially during game nights. But during most nights its a really nice place to hang out in.

Fun(but teeny tiny) Lower Pac Heights bar. My kickball team and I moseyed on over after our *sigh* second loss of the season and enjoyed $ 3 beers, flat screen TVs showing the Giants(winning against the Padres), and endless games of(cramped a$s) flip cup in the back. This is a particularly fun time of year to head to Fishbowl because a bunch of intermurals are going on down the block at Hamilton, so you meet a lot of people and see old friends(if you’re local). It gets rowdy, so not recommended if you don’t plan to get on that level in my opinion. The bartender was nice yesterday, don’t know if she’s the bartended every week. I suppose I’ll find out. You’d think that Fishbowl management would want to schedule at least two bartenders, or a bartender and a cook on Sunday afternoons knowing that there’s a ton of people who head there after their games, just a thought. At any rate, it’s a fun dive bar and I’ll certainly be back for mas!

For my 100th review, I chose the Fishbowl as it was one of the many stops I made on my birthday weekend that just passed. Hurray! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this joint while waiting for Tortilla Heights to open up just a block away. There was a sign out front advertising a happy hour with $ 3 cocktails and draughts and $ 5 moscow mules. That immediately caught my eye and I was delighted to hear they honored happy hour even on Saturday! Immediately upon sitting at the bartop, our eyes caught glimpse of an actually fishbowl(really a fishtank) that had a Giants stadium background, a baseball sitting at the bottom and two happy angel fish swimming around. There were TVs with the preseason game on and SF Giants accoutrements garnishing the walls of the room. We ordered Pacifico on tap and of course took advantage of the $ 5 moscow mules. We had a lot of time to kill so we asked for dice and were offered a wide array of games they had like Jenga and Apples to Apples by the friendly and helpful bartkeep Sharbel, I believe his name was(Sorry, but I did ask you to spell it for me upon our departure– hope I heard you correctly :). There was a pair of old arcade style hunting games in the corner near the loo as well. According to the literature posted around the bar, there is a trivia night I believe on Mondays and judging from the large PAC12 flag hanging above the front door, you can probably catch these games on their big screens. With that said, I’m happy to report that stopping at the Fishbowl on my birthday was a great way to kill a couple of hours. Cheap and delicious drinks, games, friendly and attentive bartender. 4 stars. 5, if I have an equally nice experience next time.

Can’t give a fair review, which is the only reason I’m ranking it kind of low. By the time we made it here(12 – 12:30ish) I was done drinking so I didn’t look at prices or take a deep look into their selection. The place wasn’t really busy for a Saturday night which kind of bummed me out and put a damper on my buzz. However, we did have the jalepeno poppers and I have to say they were probably the best I’ve ever tasted in my whole life. Seriously. I would come back here to drink just so I can have those again.

When I lived in lower pac heights I had never stepped foot in here cause the outside looked rather unappealing and out of place. I’ve only been here for going away events, which was as recent as a few months ago. Standard pub food but I’ll say the curly fries, hot wings, and jalapeño poppers were pretty bomb by itself. The beer to wash it down with made it even better. What I’m most disappointed in is the bartender service — when it gets busy, ordering a drink or some food takes FOREVER(like, 30 minutes standing there while the bartender chick flirts with the regular patrons on the other side of the counter and makes it a point to go down the counter to take orders kind of forever). The chick working last time I went couldn’t even remember if I paid or not right after handing over my card cause she was talking to other people. Really?! I hate waiting unless it’s worth it. And for what this place offers, definitely not worth any sort of wait. Thus, I’m only here when someone wants to throw a happy hour/moving on with life type of event.

Stopped in here after the super bowl to drown my 49ers sorrows. Let’s just say my sorrows were compounded by the service of the bartender. This had to be the worst bartender I’ve ever come across. I’m not sure about his name but he had a complete hipster look with a dumb hat on. The place was busy but it wasn’t packed to the gills. I stood there for a good 10 minutes before he even acknowledged me. I literally had to wave my hand to get his attention(something I hate doing at bars because I know bartenders hate that). Most of the time he sat down behind the bar to talk to his friends. As I flagged him down for my second drink while he was ignoring the entire bar, he got up with a «you’re bothering me» attitude and proceeded to take my order with a scowl. I’m not a bar owner but I think you should at least smile and be friendly to the customers while you’re behind the bar. And spending most of your time talking to your girlfriend instead of taking people’s orders is not the mark of a good barkeep. I will usually give a place a second chance, but not this one.

Too divey for this diva. The Fishbowl is the kind of bar I would end up at only to meet friends, and only if I couldn’t talk them into leaving and going to Fat Angel around the corner. It’s divey in an unintentional, anti-trendy kind of way. I suppose the word for that would simply be: dirty. Our friends ordered Coronas. We attempted to order something less gross. I took the plunge and asked for my standard St Germain on the rocks… nervous pause… and the bartenders response was something to the tune of ‘what the hell is that?’ So I settled on some other sweet girly liquor, which he poured quite happily and cheaply for me. Surprisingly, they have food and it looks pretty decent… if you must. Also they have a TV. And free goldfish crackers, though I couldn’t find them.

Stumbled into Fishbowl around 10:15 on a Saturday night and was really surprised to see that it wasn’t too busy, but very grateful that there were open seats. We ordered a round of drinks and the boy and I shared some chicken tenders and curly fries which cost about $ 7. Pretty good deal since they give you a huge amount of fries and 3 – 4 strips! Fishbowl is on the smaller side, so come early if you like having a spot to sit at. The bartenders are friendly and make great drinks! It’s another nice, little spot on Divis to grab some drinks.
