My husband and I had a great time here last night! We had dinner but it looks like a fun place to just come in and have a drink as well. The fish tacos are super good– the fish is nice and crispy. My husband had the burger everyone is raving about — it really is very good! That bacon jam is THE jam. Started with the meatballs and ceviche. Ceviche was just okay.

I like the food but service is abysmal on two seperate visits. What’s not working: after dishes arrived cold and 45 minutes into the meal. The waiter returns 10 minutes later looks at us looking at her. We gesture to suggest that we don’t know what is wrong with the member of our group who did not receive their dish. She says I have no idea what(gesture) means. dismissive, slow, surley waitresses. The bottomless mimosas are in small glasses slow to refill. Came today with Party of 4 they did comp the meal and a big thank you for that. To the owner: I know it is important to get good Unilocal reviews. I will go back some day to see if the Management is paying attention whe it is just me without guests. With all due respect, you seriously need to get all your staff in line they are hurting your business.

Unfortunately, never tried the food. Hostess didn’t seem to have her act together and after 30 minutes our party of three headed to Ella’s.

Meh, it’s just ok. Service is good. No issue there. Had a fried chicken sandwich that was mostly«filler»: oversized bread, with a very thin piece of fried chicken. It is NOTHING compared to Bakesale Betty’s fried chicken sandwich(but what is?). It felt like nothing special. The biscuit we got to start was tasty. Served with a really nice honey. If I had just eaten this I would have had s very different opinion! The crowd seemed to lean to college-aged. Given the proximity to USF that shouldn’t be a surprise.

Sevice was far below par. Not one employee gave our party the time of day, forgot multiple things and was overall rude and dismissive. It’s unfortunate because this restaurant is very visually appealing and conveniently located. I would expect a place with such a cute and trendy ambiance to have equally wonderful customer service. This place also needs to take a hint from Brenda’s Meat and Three in terms of their grits… they claim to have cheddar in them but it doesn’t taste like there’s cheddar in it at all let alone butter! I don’t go to brunch to eat healthy… at least use more salt people! And to top it all off all of our food was served cold. Very disappointing.

After two years, this is one of my favorite restaurants in Laurel Heights. I love how they are still known for their BACONJAM in their juicy burger. I came here for dinner with my two girlfriends. We share a bunch of small plates and entrees. Try out the following: *Fries *Fish tacos *Brussel sprouts *Burger(BACONJAM! Why not?) *Dinner rolls(honey-buttter, enough said!) Waiters and bartenders are super friendly, fun, and attentive. It is interesting to see new things on the menu based on the seasonal ingredients. Quick tip: Booking a reservation is always a good idea. Cheers and hats of to the chefs and kitchen staff! See you again soon.

Hostess was not nice and did a poor job greeting customers. She was very unpleasant when we asked politely if we could be seated at an empty table closer to the heater in the outdoor area. She was not willing to seat us stating that there were no table settings on that table. We were seated closer to the sidewalk with our two young kids, who have their winter jackets on. We’ve been sitting here 45 min and no one is seated at the empty table next to us with the heater above it, and it is completely set with glasses, napkins, silverware. Empty. Food service is very slow on a Sunday afternoon despite the place not being packed. I’ve been here before and the food is ok, but the staff here seriously need to work on their interactions with their customers. The hostess should be fired or be coached on appropriate attitude. No need to be snippy with guests.

This place is a shit show. An off the clock manager walks in and says«I’ll get us a seat faster» and jumps in front of everyone waiting. Our wait ended up being 45 minutes. They brought the wrong meal to our table and the table behind us. My food was awful and I literally had two bites and set it aside. I didn’t complain since I had already complained about the rude manager getting seated and knew they’d just think I was being difficult. One would have thought the waitress would have asked«was your meal okay?» Considering the plate was nearly untouched when she took it away. Needless to say I paid for the food and won’t come back.

Cute breakfast place in Inner Richmond; it’s a comfortable place with good food. It’s really easy to miss if you don’t keep an eye out, but it’s easy to get to via car or transit, right across from Target. I ended up going here for a friend’s birthday brunch. With reservations, there was no wait at all :) We all sat out in the outdoor patio area which has heaters and shielding from the wind, but it was still a bit nippy. The staff was super friendly and attentive; there was never a lack of bottomless mimosas available. The breakfast sandwich plate was huge! I ended up skipping out on some of the bread, but the bacon and potatoes and veg were really good. The egg was sunny side up and a bit too runny for my taste, but still okay overall.

The Corner Store is a good spot for weekend brunch. They have reasonably priced bottomless mimosas($ 18), and never let your glass go empty. They also have 4 types of(really good!) biscuits. My friend and I shared the cheddar and thyme bechamel one, which was rich, creamy and buttery. For my main, I got the breakfast sandwich, subbing avocado for bacon. It was good, and I liked the big chunks of country-style potato that it came with, but I wish they had put a little more burrata on it, mainly because I am obsessed with that cheese(which is fresh mozzarella injected with cream, in case you didn’t know). Also, pro tip: they open at 10AM on weekends for brunch, so if you are an early riser and get there around 10, you won’t have to wait at all for a table.

Came here for a friend’s bday and was pleasantly surprised with all the food we had. Highlights include the brussel sprouts(they were so good we kept ordering more), the octopus, pork belly, and mussels. The Noble buck drink was delicious. Great service as well

We were excited to try this place for brunch on Saturday. The reviews looked pretty solid and I love me some biscuits and gravy! Well… the biscuit was good and the wait was short. That’s about as far as the compliments go. The gravy was cold and had NO meat in it, it was not vegetarian. No flavor ether and was watery. I ordered a side of bacon that was All fat. I couldn’t eat it. I was shocked that they would bring that to the table. My friend ordered a chocolate chip pancake that was under cooked and doughy. The 2 stars are for our waitress who was really friendly and the coffee was pretty good.

No reservations but the wait isn’t bad! I got the breakfast sandwich which was arugula, egg, burrata, and bacon on a pretty thick bun. In fact, there was so much breading to filling ratio that it kind of took away from the deliciousness of the sandwich! I also love burrata, but I don’t think it’s the right cheese for breakfast sandwiches(or any sandwich that should be hot). The cold cheese was kind of off putting and I would have been much happier with a melted pepperjack or something! On the upside, the sandwich did come with these thick roasted potatoes that were tender and roasted with yummy, flavorful onions. In terms of other breakfast items, my friend who got the Hangover(biscuit with gravy) said that the biscuit was his favorite in the city though, so I definitely have to try that next time I go! The Corner Store also has $ 15 bottomless mimosas, and I was excited to see Micheladas on the menu. I was obsessed with these after a vacation in Mexico, and the Corner Store served decent ones but not really worth the $ 7 :(Other than that, the service was good and the food came out relatively quickly. I would go back again!

I’ve had hits and misses at Corner Store but tonight was a HUGEHIT. I had the pork shoulder adobo with coconut rice, broccolini, bok choy, and scallions and it was SOGOOD. The broth/sauce around the pork is amazing, as was the coconut rice. I ordered it on a whim, and was blown away. I ate it 2 hours ago and I’m still thinking about it.

Really good burger, and unexpectedly so, as there are a handful of other establishments on the top SF burgers list. The bacon jam really killed it; I like that much better than an actual slice of bacon! I rank The Corner Store burger above Serpentine, which says a lot. Other-food-wise, the brussels sprouts were awesome. The escabeche was good but I thought the carrots were too crunchy. Fries were yummy. Non-food-wise, the service was terrible. I think it was just the server that we got. She was very inconsistent(took 10 minutes to come by and take our order, but immediately served the table next to us), forgot sharing plates/utensils, etc. tl;dr come here for the awesome burger, and hope that you get one of the more attentive servers.

Nine o’clock in the evening where I’m gonna be? Inside at The Corner! I better get dindin together, While I’m #eatallthethings right along w my drinks. Why should I eat right and suffer? I’d rather eat wrong chewing that fat wolfing that carb stuff. Instead of hotdogs I’m eating Brussels and they Sprouted, And got a gang of Lamb up on the Flatbread appetizers. On top of all that entrée of Pork Belly and Chicks, Fish and Chip balls #nobromo just in case I feel like flexin. So I must axx for real though why room temp? See I need food warm… Yeah most dishes were room temp check it!

My friend and I came here for drinks on a late evening weeknight. When we walked in it was a full house, but both of us were seated right away at the bar. We didn’t plan to eat because we already had prior dinner. We asked our bartender for their special drink. I got the«Four Leaf» Clover martini. Foamy on the top, fruity and super delicious. So good I had to ask for a second… and then third. After a few drinks we wanted to have a small bite. Our bartender, btw, named Joel was very attentive. He suggested the The Corner Store«PB&J». Ohhhhh man… it was DELISH! *Drooling right now as I’m typing*. Sweet and savory. Def hit the spot. I also got the deviled eggs topped with tobiko. Eggs on eggs. It totally satisfied my cravings. Overall my experience here was very good. Our bartender made it enjoyable for us. He has the creativity and craftsmanship to create any cocktail to your liking. I definitely recommend you to ask him to fix you up a drink! I haven’t came here for brunch yet but would absolutely come here again for drinks and dinner. =)

I like their space. Comfortable and clean. Open kitchen. Not huge, so there is a wait, but… San Francisco. The eggs Benedict was mid range. The eggs were well poached and the hollandaise was homemade, but didn’t stand out. A good amount of cayenne, but not enough lemon. The ham and English muffin were lacking. My husband got the burger that was better. Yummy pickled onions, yummy beef, and they did a good job not over cooking the meat. They do make milkshakes with booze in it, which isn’t my thing, but just the fact that they have them — I gotta give them props. And for those that are looking for bottomless mimosas — they have those too.

Brunch: The single most delicious meal of the day. I’ve been meaning to try The Corner Store for some time now since they replaced the old Hukilau joint across the street of the City Target. The Corner Store is your traditional American food with a full bar and open seating. They do pack you in a bit, but the atmosphere is generally upbeat and casual, which gives it all a nice homey feel. Now, onto the food! [THEFOOD] For starters, I have to admit that my brunch date and I had a Mimosa($ 7.00) and a White Russian Milkshake($ 8.00) but were so excited, that the picture just didn’t make it in time. The mimosa was standard, but the White Russian Milkshake was delicious. and incredibly strong. Tipsy at noon? Well it’s 5 o’clock somewhere right? The Corner Burger — $ 14.00 –Oh yumm. This burger was great, and a little different. The Corner Burger came with some pickled veggies, which were a bit strong on the vinegar, but a nice contrast to the rest of it. The fries were also seasoned wonderfully and pretty addicting. Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict — $ 15.00 I loved that this eggs beni had capers and red onion slices! I am so fond of smoked salmon breakfasts, and this one was definitely delicious. I subbed out the potatoes side for fruits(a watermelon, pineapple, and mint medley) [THEVALUE] Ehhhh, I think the burger was pretty large and definitely worth it. I would say the benedict was worth it just to try, but with my bottomless pit of a stomach, it didn’t quite cut it for me and I found myself trying to steal little hand-fulls of my friend’s fries. I’m used to salmon benis going for $ 11-$ 13. Next time I’m here I’m probably going for the burger. [THESERVICE] Our server Courtney was great. Really sweet and accommodated us with our separate checks and the White Russian Milkshake which was not on menu. Even though it was busy she still checked in with us and got us our bill in good time. Overall, I wouldn’t say I would make this a weekly brunch spot, but it’s definitely a convenient indulgence that delivers to the taste-buds, although it also takes a big punch to the wallet.

We had a change of plans and decided to head here to find out more about the restaurant closest to my mother’s home. my mother had been bugging Some friends had said they liked it and others said they didn’t so we decided to try it ourselves. They don’t use Open Table and nobody answered their reservations line so we stopped in as they said that 30% of seating is left for walk-ins. This turns out to mean at the bar or a community table which would be fine. Arrived at 6pm and the place was 25% full. Mostly families with young children or babies were eating. As a party of three we were told that all seats were reserved and that we could sit at the community table. the community table is a high table with high cold metal stools stuck between the waiters station, freezer, and bathrooms. As my mother is in her 80s and it was my gal’s birthday, we asked if there was any way we could move to another table. Our waitress checked, the hostess looked at us, nit even at her screen and shook her head. Our waitress apologetically said no. Okay! Hostess! You are officially on my clock! Maybe your crowd will arrive at 7. The menu was slightly limited in my view but i knew what I wanted. People have said great things about their burger and on a Sunday eve, that seemed perfect. It was definitely an artisanal burger and very tasty with a nice bacon jam similar to that of Bacon Bacon! My mom had the risotto which was more like a barley risotto. Very hearty and heavy. My wife didn’t find anything to her liking and went with a soup and salad which were both tasty. I enjoyed the salad which had a really spicy balsamic vinaigrette. My gal thought it was almost too salty, but that is a matter of taste. It is now 7 pm. And half the tables outside are full. 2 ladies with lap dogs get seated at a table for 4. Really? I look at the hostess and she looks away. A couple more people get seated but the place is still only 70% full at best. At 7:30 we offered dessert but am afraid that if I eat something cold my ass might stick to the frozen seat. Seriously though, the metal chairs are quite uncomfortable and I wanted my mom off of them before she fell off. As we left I noted the several tables that we could have been seated at. I first had to make sure my 80 year old mom didnt give her a piece of her mind! Don’t mess with old ladies! They have nothing to lose! The hostess didn’t even look at us as we left. Not even a thank you! Not even a good night! After dropping my mom off and circling back at 8pm I noticed the table was still open! You have to be wondering why I even gave 2 stars. Here are my final thoughts. Burger was a 4. Waitress was a 5. Hostess was a –5. The place needs a real reservation system like Open Table. The waiter area needs rubber matting. The staff dropped dishes and utensils a couple times on the ceramic floor and it startled us. Give the hostess some lessons on hostessing or get a new one. If she’s an owner, put her in the back. I’m sure your mileage may vary at this establishment, but anyone in retail or hotel, restaurant management can tell you it takes one bad experience to spoil the pot. I usually leave a kinder gentler critique in case I decide to come back. I really wanted to like this place, but there was just one chance here and there are plenty more burger and breakfast places for me to enjoy. I will not be back.
