The Boys Deli made a solid sandwich. I got the San Franpsycho on Dutch Crunch, but wasn’t over impressed. It was a little saucy, but packed full of good meat — I don’t think I ate for the rest of the day after that lunch. It wasn’t too expensive, and if I’m craving a sandwich I’ll definitely go back, but I feel like it’s not a place to write home about. I’ll keep trying their other sandwiches though, they look great!

There are few things worse than a mediocre deli sandwich, but luckily this place GETSITRIGHT. I had the Godfather on Dutch Crunch and it was one of the best deli sandwiches I’ve ever had. It was also sizeable and only $ 10. It was warm, delicious, crispy bread, and omg the garlic sauce. WHAT A BRILLIANTINVENTION. I can’t wait to try more of their offerings. Note: this deli is located inside the Oasis Convenience store on the second floor of 4 Embarcadero.

For those of you who are wondering, this place is located on the second story of Embarcadero #4 with a label on the outside«oasis convenience». I think their new name is 5th street deli. The above being said, go eat here. Yum!

If you work in the financial district and want a sandwich, go get the best one in the area at The Boys Deli. The breads, meats and ingredients are fresh and delicious. These guys are friendly and absolutely know how to make a great sandwich.

I work in the Embarcadero Center, and I believe I found the best place to get a sandwich among the many options we have! It truly does look like a cute little deli. The sandwich menu is creative and SF-inspired, which is a fun distraction on a finance person’s lunch break. I got the veggie lover sandwich, which was amazing. The portions are so large that I had the other half to save for the next day. Thanks a lot! Can’t wait to come back.

Midas touch. Success defined: Definitive sandwich: Mideast Touch with Boar’s Head chicken, hummus, shredded lettuce, avocado, lettuce and tomato on a toasted wheat roll. Hot sauce, oil and vinegar come standard too. Combination was a delicious success. Only higher prices than the original Russian Hill location($ 9 vs. $ 7 ) keep them from five more stars. Still a sandwich success.

Great sandwiches and nice people. This place was incredibly difficult to find, as it doesn’t have a sign, is on the second floor, and it isn’t listed on the map on the first floor.

This could be a great deli if they changed their bread source. Now I am comparing them to Freddies, Molinaris, and Roxies delis. They all are iconic sandwich shops in San Francisco and all have great bread. IMO, the key to a great sandwich, its all about the bread. Any deli that has bread delivered in plastic bags and not paper sacks, probably have sub standard bread. I have tried them twice and although I would go there if I was pressed for time, because of the bread issue, it is only a last minute choice. The bread seems a little on the dry side, just like store bought plastic wrapped bread you get at Safeway. If you don’t believe me, take a walk up to Molanari’s on Columbus and order a sandwich there… you will taste the difference.

Trying this out for the first time with my boyfriend. I got the chicken bacon ranch! Absolutely loved it !!! So great!!! You select the toppings after and getting Dutch crunch is amazing!!! He got the turkey one, super plain! The place is in a market so it’s hard to find but it was definitely worth! One thing is there are no seating which sucks !

Yum! Best sandwich ever. I got the light tipsy which is a pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and remolaude. They toasted the roll for me and it was nice and crunchy. This is now my favorite place in the fidi to get a sandwich. They have so many different variations of sandwiches. Will be back to try the other ones.

Their sandwiches are better than Ike’s IMO. I’d suggest to call in advance to place an order, as the lines are pretty long during lunch time. Pretty convenient store to pick up snacks and cold beverages while you’re on break.

As my friend would say…“Hella Bomb!” The sandwiches here are the best I’ve ever had in the FiDi. A little on the pricey side, but they don’t skimp. I had the SanFranpsycho and it was legit! I can’t believe this place has been open for over 9 months and today was my first time. I’ll be back next week for sure!

I’m SO happy that there’s finally a new sandwich spot down here. Their sandwiches are the BOMB-DIGGITY…that’s it, that’s all. The serving sizes are lovely — you actually get what you pay for(I can usually get 2 meals out of one sandwich). Now, PLEASESTAYAWAY. lol

Legit sandwiches in the FiDi. Got the godfather. Thing weighed over a pound! This is now on my monthly lunch rotation. Located on the 2nd floor inside the oasis convenience store.

This is interesting… This place apparently recently opened end of last year? Yet there are only 8 reviews so far… I feel like I shouldn’t let the secret out? This place is a legit deli. You order up a sandwich, they start slicing up your cold cuts, and then they will ask you want you want on it. I got everything minus tomatoes. It takes a bit for your sandwich to be assembled but THEYSLICETOORDER! Who can really complain about that? I got the SanFranPsycho(honey turkey, gouda, bacon, pesto, garlic spread & remoulade) per the reviews here and from their Unilocal for the other location. I’m not even a fan of honey turkey! This sandwich was good. At first it was a little salty, but you know what, it was GOOD. The jalapenos added a nice kick to it. I’d put this up against Lou’s. I think I’d still pick Lou’s though but I’ve only come here once and tried 1 sandwich out of the possible 50 or so. I have a list to try… so I’ll be back. I feel like it’s a secret, but not so secret kinda place. You have to know what to look for to find it, but once you do, you might keep coming back.

New deli downtown that is actually a deli. Get your sandwiches before people find out about this place as once word is out it is going to be packed. It’s painfully sad there are no legitimate deli options when it comes to the financial district but we finally have one!

I would give this place 3.5 stars, so I rounded up to 4 :-) THEGOOD: Great raw materials– the breads, the cold cuts, cheese and vegetables are fresh and delicious. Sandwich sizes are large. Sandwich prizes are on par for San Francisco(high) but NOT gauging you either. Paid $ 8.50 today for a Salami + Mozz. The staff are nice, and some are extremely friendly which helps makes it pleasant to be in the store. THEBAD(and these are relatively minor). The service is painfully slow. Although they are decked out with loads of great sandwich ingrediants and workspace, it’s invariable that there is an oddly long wait for any sandwich. Dare I say these people are too relaxed. Often ordering comes in 2 steps– you order a sandwich, and then after they are halfway thru it, then they ask what you want on it.(??) The Sandwich names are extremely irritating, and at this point I just come up with my own sandwich ingrediants and ask them to make that combo. There is a VERY long list of sandwiches with names that give zero indication as to the ingrediants, and additionally they are not organized in any way according to type of sandwich. Given the time it takes to make a sandwich here, I cannot bare to take 10 minutes and read the super long menu looking for a good combo. –A New Yorker in San Fran

I’ve searched long and hard trying to find a good sandwich from a good deli. I didn’t even know this place existed before stepping in there. Reason being is that there is NOSIGN! It used to be a convenient store but they have kept the same set up. I went in there to buy some snacks, then looked at the wall. sandwiches galore! I had the San Franpsycho on Dutch crunch and honestly it was the best sandwich I’ve had in a while. It had honey turkey, Gouda, garlic spread, and remoulade… it was absolutely delicious. And for around 9 bucks it’s not a bad deal because it was HUGE. More people should check this place out during their lunch time.
