The bartender was a great guy, talked to us about our trip to San Francisco and gave some good recommendations on the menu. Their Island wing sauce is quite good. Good place to go that is just off of where it seems the tourist are all going.

Can’t wait to spend the next basketball game at Columbus Café where they actually honor their happy hour specials. This place blows. Bathroom is disgusting too. Lost a customer who lives in the neighborhood for life, so that sucks for them and everyone I am going to tell about it. Also, the bartenders are jerks and need to learn a little customer service.

I randomly picked a bar on a map in a neighborhood we hadn’t visited yet — and The Boardroom was it! I was pretty thrilled with my random choice. We sat right at the bar and were served right away. It’s a nice divey sports bar — divey in all the right places. They don’t take themselves too seriously. They had an abundance of TVs with a vareity of games. A HUGE selection of booze and the food looked good. We didn’t order any, just drank, but we oggled other folks foods and it did look tasty. While we didn’t make it back here — we intended to, since this place seemed right up our alley.

Great place to escape the tourist crowds. Almost didn’t want to do a review because I don’t want anyone else to know about it. But the bartender and the crowd inside were so great I didn’t feel right now reviewing it. Great place to be.

Bacon wrapped tater tots. Duuuuuuuude… So freakin good. My boyfriend and I ordered chips with salsa and guac, wings, and the bacon wrapped tater tots. We enjoyed the wings and tots, but can pass on the chips next time. We also ordered a few drinks, there was a special on Jameson and pbr? I can’t recall the name. But my boyfriend had that, and I just had a Jamie Coke. It’s a pretty clean bar, plenty of seating at the bar, with a few big tables around. I don’t mind sharing tables, and everyone seemed pretty friendly around here. Overall, I would come back. Most likely during games.

Ok I have to admit the bartender made some of the best Moscow Mules… My disappointment with the place was that I order honey bbq wings. They were not fresh at all. Tasted like they were cooked earlier and put in the microwave and warmed up. If I go back in will definitely not order food again.

My favorite place in all of San Francisco! When I go to SF to visit, I always make sure to stop by here! You can get a dirty hipster(jameson shot + PBR) and bacon wrapped tater tots all in one spot, whats not to love? PLUS! They make a killer bloody mary. One of the best ones I have ever had!

On the Saturday night Super Bowl City reached max capacity, my friend and I decided to look up local sports bars to watch the Warriors game. Luckily, thanks to Unilocal, and trying to brave another bar that was over its capacity, we found The Boardroom! It wasn’t too busy and there were plenty of TV’s in every part of the place. We ordered chicken tenders which were quite pricy, but wasn’t bad! Great atmosphere, clean, and nice service. Lots of screens to watch sports games!

Bacon. Wrapped. Tater. Tots. My two favorite things on one yummy plate. The tots were perfect: crunchy outside, hot mealy center, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The service was great, the drinks were reasonable. But the tots were so good my feet tingled any my legs went numb. In a good way. GO. That’s all I can say.

The food is so delicious, the western bacon burger was huge and so good. Toasted bun with good cheddar cheese and the pulled pork is real good and has a little spice to it. The drinks were priced right and the customer service was on point. If looking for a bar with good food then definitely check out this place. It’s a little small but the atmosphere and ambiance is real chill. Good food and quality drinks

came here for the game last wed. they had $ 5 burgers which was pretty darn good. place is big enough for large groups. mixed drinks were on the expensive side and it was bland. no alcohol taste so we ordered a shot and then a back and mixed it ourselves. just the shot itself was like $ 10! $.50 cents wings were good! But only on mondays. I would come here more often if it wasn’t for the location. It’s on the other side of the city from where i live… too far and hard to find parking.

One of my favorite dive bars to visit in San Francisco. A great place to grab a few drinks, watch some football or basketball and have some bar food. The drinks are very reasonably priced, and they have a very fun jukebox linked to an app that allows wannabe DJs to duke it out. Definitely worth stopping in for happy hour or some bar grub!

Four words: taco tequila trivia Tuesday. Four more: bacon-wrapped tater tots. I’m such a fan of this place. It’s perfectly divey without making you feel like you’re going to catch something. It’s packed with all kinds of locals on Tuesday nights. Great brunch food — I had some of the best breakfast tacos I’ve found in the city, and they had all the games on various TV screens. I also tried their secret sweet tea concoction, which was just okay. It tastes like fake bottled tea, but Texas girl was hoping for proper southern sweet tea. Whatever. This is a place to get a cheap beer and shout at the football players on TV, not to drink fancy cocktails. Will definitely be back.

A sports bar! For sports fans! With damn good food! As B C. says in another review: «bacon wrapped tater tot» sums it up very well. I come here for my old college’s game days. It’s always wall to wall packed at that time, and it’s always a great experience(if you wear the correct t-shirt color!) One star off for the bearded bartender who is unnecessarily rude to anyone who asks a question. I witnessed it happen probably five times in an hour. I see you bro, maybe don’t take your bad day out on us?

For those of you who don’t like waiting in a long drink line at the North Star, The Boardroom is a fine North Beach alternative. This is pretty much a neighborhood watering hole. Not too large. Mostly locals frequent the joint. I highly doubt that folks would traverse the city to come here. But once you’re here, you’re pretty much treated like family by the bar-keeps. We came in here on last Saturday night after a comedy show. We had no problems saddling up at the bar and ordering a few pops. Service was friendly. The whiskey pours were generous. The drink prices were reasonable. And the mood was lively. What more do you want from a neighborhood bar. Apparently, they also host a fun trivia night every Tuesdays. I’d definitely come back!

Reading the previous reviews, we must have hit The Boardroom on a bad day. We asked a local for a good, off-the-beaten path place for lunch, and The Boardroom was recommended. First of all, the music, a mix of hip-hop and rap, was way too loud. My husband ordered a beer, and the bartendress(lady bartender) put a head on it that rivaled Don King’s hair. When he asked her to top it off, her attitude was almost as hefty. Now, I know that it’s a bar, and most bars aren’t known for their fine wine, but the stuff that they poured me rivaled Uncle Jesse’s 30 year old grape experiment, and not in a good way. I ordered a taco salad, which was supposed to arrive with a plethora of tasty ingredients. However, it was merely tortilla chips, lettuce, salsa, and jalapeños. No cheese, sour cream or guacamole. Boo. My husband got a veggie burger with sweet potato fries and stated that he liked his meal. So we came, we sat, we tried. Had to be an off day.

I came here on a Tuesday night with a friend for trivia. We expected the place to be packed so we got there 30 min early. Turns out only about 10 people including us showed up for trivia. Regardless, we still had a great time and the trivia was really fun but would’ve been better with more people. They did, however, have $ 2 tacos which were super delicious so I was a happy camper. Also took my first shot of Fernet here which was interesting to say the least. Curious to try the other food there. I’m sure I’ll be back!

If there’s one area that locals avoid, it’s North Beach. It’s a pain in the ass to get to, it’s infested with tourists, parking is beyond atrocious, and valet can costs as much as 3 boozy cocktails. When it comes to parking, I’m going to practice my rare, frugality methods. Shoot, I’m not going to waste money on valet parking that can be used for romancing the bottle. Yep, priorities. Tater Tot had his first grooming appointment in North Beach so we begrudgingly headed there on a Friday afternoon. The parking gods must have been looking over us because I scored awesome metered parking on Columbus street. We had 2 hours to kill after dropping him off so I thought I knock off some of my North Beach bookmarks that were collecting dust. First up: The Boardroom. I love that it’s a scotch off the beaten path of touristy Columbus Avenue. And, unless the tourist is a Unilocaler, they’re probably unlikely to find The Boardroom. I was hoping to be welcomed by the resident pooch that I’ve seen on Unilocal pics but sadly, he wasn’t there. It’s ok though because we were welcomed by our super nice bartender who had a very distinctive Vin Diesel voice. The Boardroom is a dive bar that serves decently priced drinks, bar food, and brunch on the weekends(hello, cookie batter French toast!). There’s a bunch of flat screen TVs for watching the game and a Rockbot so you can select whatever song you want to play($ 1/song). Fridays are the best day of the week because I can drink to my heart’s content and not have to worry about having to wake up at ass crack of dawn to go to work. The Boardroom has happy hour specials Monday– Friday 4 pm — 7 pm: $ 1 off all wells, beers, and shot specials, $ 6 fernet and tecate, and $ 5 nachos. On Mondays, they have 50 cent wings(I’ll make it there one day!) and Tuesdays are $ 2 tacos and trivia night. CC’s accepted. I stuck with usual Hendrick’s Tonic($ 10) which was nicely stiff. I noticed they carried Effen Vodka which is rare so I also had two Effen Black Cherry Tonics($ 9 each). What’s booze without some good drunchies right? We ordered their infamous Bac-o-Tots($ 8): and Carne Asada Nachos(Small — $ 7): which were great. You can never go wrong with bacon and tots but together, they make the perfect drunchies snack especially with the side of ranch for dipping. Yep, definitely get an order of these… for yourself. We regretted not ordering a large nachos because they was pretty good as well. Fresh mound of crunchy chips topped with a duo of melty cheese, black beans, tender bits of carne asada, salsa rojo, guac, jalapenos, and crema. The chef brought out our food to us himself which I thought was a nice touch. Didn’t encounter any douches when we were there like others did but there may be a resolution for that. Blast some Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus or Ariana Frappuccino Grande on the Rockbot. Problem solved.

I had my eye on this place because I heard about the bacon-wrapped tater tots. Soon as I got there, I placed my order. The service was surprisingly fantastic for a crowded dive bar. The bartender came right to us and kept an eye on us all night.(Caution: we were white males). The totchos looked and smelt like the belly of the most beautiful pig on the planet. Honestly though, they weren’t as incredible as I imagined them to be. I thought they would be seasoned or done up in some way, but they actually tasted like something a kid brother would make at 2am, but cost 8 dollars more(it also hurt my heart a little bit to pay 8 bucks for 12 tater tots. bacon or not). The saving grace, however, was the corned beef sandwich. That sandwich gave me liiiiife! Nearly perfectly cooked meat, with just the right amount of coleslaw to compliment it’s flavor. Bread: nice and fluffy. And a nice bowl of broth to dip in. Simply succulent. Great service, average bacon wrapped tater tots, and a fantastic corned beef sandwich at a bar in North Beach… STRONG4-star

Great place to catch a game(what ever sport you want to see). There are at least 5 tvs inside. Its a casual local bar that can get packed depending on the day. Goods good, had the tachos — tater tot nachos. they came out piping hot with lots of steak. A great price for the amount of food. The bloody marry was good, some spiciness to it with olives, peppers and green bean vs a celery stalk. YUM

I have mixed emotions about The Boardroom. On the one hand, it’s in North Beach, a place I love, the staff is incredibly kind, they play great music, and have lots of big TVs for ample sports viewing. On the other hand, it smells like my college boyfriend’s shared dorm apartment, ie, dirty towels and bong water, trivia night was a huge bust as the hostess was absolutley schwaaasted(like blurting out answers to trivia questions and heckling some guys in the crowd), the place is very tiny and dark, and last but not least(and at no fault of the establishment) we were infultrated by the *biggest douchebags* I have encountered in a while — seriously, they ate the better part our nachos and bacon mac n’ cheese and got really angry when we told them to stop and moved our food away. Me and the girlies started off the day yesterday in high spirits, looking forward to Dr Teeth’s Tuesday Trivia /Two-for-One Maragarita deal /Two Dolla Taco fest, only to have our dreams squashed roadside after we learned that *Dr Teeth NOLONGERDOESTRIVIA*(fyi, y’all). So we had to resort to other options. Boardroom is somewhere between all of our offices, so we landed there. Rita I and I got there waaaay before the trivia rush and planted ourselves at one of the two long tables and filled ourselves with a Margarita and a Corona($ 5 each) and waited for our homegirls to grace us with their presence. I had the Fernet and Tecate deal for $ 6 which was pretty sweet. Now kiddies, I welcome you to flashforward a few hours to almost trivia time. We were joined by some random menfolk from Canada who made a good impression — at first. Then they proceeded to take and eat our food and tried to justify it. Um, I hate you. Thankfully the staff saw what was happening and took the charge off our bill and put it onto theirs. The chef in the kitchen does major work — cooking and bringing everything out to the many people who order, good work! We shared Nachos with Carne Asada($ 9) which was pretty bomb, plus an order of Mac N’ Cheese with Bacon($ 8) which was no bueno. It was basically large elbow pasta with a watery cheese sauce and topped with nearly burned bacon bits. Sad face central. Stephanie S got the Bacon Wrapped Tater Tots aka Bac-o-Tots($ 8 for five) which she said were yummy, but not a lot came in an order. Rita I had the Buffalo Wings in Island Flavor($ 9), which were not particularly meaty, but had good flavor. During trivia we got all fat kid and ordered Tot-chos($ 8) and they were OK, a combo of soggy and then dried out, I could probably live without them. Anywho, I’d like to go back and try brunch. I think last night was also slightly tainted because there was a Wild Card A’s v. Royals game on that went to the 12th inning, and there were way too many A’s fans clogging up the joint. So that’s that: I hope to be back, I hope no more awful men approach me and my friends, and I hope the staff continues to rock on.

Looking for a dive bar in the city that locals frequent and the tourist don’t wander into? Then The Boardroom is your place to go! This place is a dive, but you can get bacon wrapped tater tots, WHAT? BACON on potato action, hell yea! They were good, not mind blowing but good, its bacon how can you go wrong. Couple of TVs on the wall to catch some games, nice seating area, looks like it could get packed, was there on a Sunday afternoon and it was 50% full. Blue Moon on tap and that’s what I drank. Restrooms are a hot mess, do go, HOLDIT! Took some pics, shared a laugh or two, so good times happened in this place.
