I am so glad we found this gem! This is me and my girl’s 3rd time here in 2 weeks. We only ordered nigiri our 3 visits here, however it never disappoints! The fish and prices can’t be beat and all of our servers have been exceptionally nice to us. We even got free ice cream at the end of our meal. The wait can be kind if long depending on what and how much nigiri you order, however. I think we are known as regulars now. Lol We get the salmon, hamachi, unagi, and white tuna nigiri every time. Mmmm. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

This is usually the typical place my boyfriend and I go for sushi. The price is decent and there is street parking most of the time. The most recent time I paid a visit, I wasn’t very satisfied. It was an early Sunday afternoon when my boyfriend and I came here to eat. We waited around half an hour for any of our food to come out, probably because there was only one sushi chef working. Definitely inefficient. I tried the chasu(pork) ramen for the first time and I have to say that it was nothing more than average. The ramen special at all and it had way too many bean sprouts. I felt like every spoonful I ate had bean sprouts in it. The soup was decent and had enough flavor. We also ordered a lot of sushi lol. My favorite was the hamachi nigiri. The fish was thinly cut but it just melted in your mouth. The tuna maki was also good. What I really didn’t like was the lion king roll. They changed the way they served it from the first time I tried it here. It’s usually supposed to be baked on an aluminum foil but this time it was just served in a row on a plate. Also there’s typically sauce over it but their lion king roll was just not up to par and did not have enough flavor.

This was one of those experiences that made me suddenly realize that many other places don’t serve really, really fresh fish. It’s not that I’ve been having completely terrible sushi everywhere else, but the first bite of my maki roll at Tazaki made me close my eyes and just go «mmmmm.» The fish was incredibly fresh like it had been in the ocean just prior to appearing on my plate, and I was blown away by the flavor and texture of the salmon and tuna in my Pink Lady and Snake rolls. Free edamame brought by the friendly, smiling waitress was also a nice surprise. Prices were average to high, but worth it for the quality of the food and service.

This is my boyfriend and I’s go to spot for sushi. The fish is always really fresh and I love how you can get free ice cream at the end of your meal. I always order either a bento box combo or the sashimi special. You can’t go wrong with those two! The assorted tempura is also really delicious and great to share. The service here varies depending on how busy it is. This place gets packed around dinner time and the wait time can get intense. Try to stop by early to avoid the long wait!

Good food, awful service. Twice now, I’ve had to wait half an hour for my food to arrive, or nearly one full hour counting the time I asked where the tuna was from before ordering it. I wanted to be sure it wasn’t the endangered, overfished bluefin tuna that so many sushi restaurants serve. Rather than giving me a straight answer, the waitress disappeared for 30 minutes or so before coming back to take my order. On the positive side, the bento box comes with some appetizing choices and the Eclipse Roll is to die for.

Good neighborhood sushi joint with cheap but good quality sashimi plates. The sushi chefs and staff are Chinese but who cares if the food is good. It was even crowded on a random Thursday when we came for dinner. I wouldn’t come all the way out to the sunset just for this place but a good spot if you’re just craving sushi and nearby.

Come at either 6 or 8pm, anytime in between and your chances of getting screwed for getting a table increases by 86.95%. Service was wack money so you’re probably wondering how in the world this place got 3 stars. Well, aside from the crappy wait and sub-par service, the nigiri actually passed all my expectations. Two traits I care about when it comes to nigiri, are quality, and fish to rice ratio. Both meet expectations so there ya go… ok fine 3.5 stars

Sushi was really good especially the sashimi! We went pretty close to closing time which was a relief they let us sit, however the customer service was rather poor. Will give it another try and update review!

TL;DR Not AMAZING sushi, but just good sushi. Great place for casual dining and quick sushi. Look elsewhere for«refined» sushi. Shima Aji is a bit tougher than expected. After trying that, ended up going with a roll instead of getting more nigiri… Nonetheless, good value and good service. Nothing is excellent here, just good… When seated, you get an over-diluted tea and cold soggy edamame. Would come here again for a quick casual sushi session with friends. Will go elsewhere for fresh sushi.

Hands down one of my favorite places for fresh and delicious sushi. Was here on a date and we ended up sitting in the area where tatami flats are seating reflective of traditional Japanese rooms. The interior is small and dinner time is consistently packed with people, mostly with locals who know where to go for good sushi. We ended up order several items from their nigiri(maguro, shrimp, toro) menu on top of their sashimi combo plate, which came arranged with colors and textures in mind. My favorite slice of fish are maguro(tuna), Hamachi, toro, and salmon. The nigiri presentation here is good in that the rice is not too thick, something I’m not a big fan of so the flavor of the fresh fish is apparent. And these choices are dependent on what I’m craving at the moment too. In addition to sashimi/sushi offerings, the menu lists an extensive array of udon/ramen, bento boxes, as well as appetizer items for those that are unable to consume too much rice. Prices are competitive and typical of Japanese food pricing with nigiri ranging from $ 4 — $ 20, depending on the portions and plating preferences. One of my favorite places to go to for sushi and sashimi.

We walked in and the owner behind the sushi bar says it’s been«years» since we’ve been back. That true. We met up with friends who live in the ‘hood for dinner. Started off with 8 hamachi nigiri($ 3/pair) and they were good. The fish was fresh, room temp and the rice held up nicely but wasn’t flavored. BFF and I ordered the Walu butterfly sizzling fish dish. I was disappointed for $ 13. The sizzling fish platters are more flavorful and better at Ozakuya on Taraval St. This fish had a metallic taste and was overcooked. It did come out quit sizzly to the point the waitress had to cover it with a paper towel to keep it from splattering all over you. The bean sprouts which I usually love in this dish was over cooked in some parts(burnt black) and then seemed a tad under cooked in other parts. They were generous with tea you got complimentary edamame(soy beans) at the onset of your meal. Hubby had the combo bento box — fried chicken nuggets(tad dry), teriyaki beef and tempura shrimp(2 prawns and 3 vegts) — which was good. Dessert was included — vanilla ice cream and mocha almond. $ 70 for 4 of us w/o tip but we didn’t have alcohol. If we return in «years» from now, I might stick with the sushi instead of the dinners unless it’s tempura.

Came here for dinner around 630pm and the place certainly filled up by 7pm. So get here early. Service was efficient not overly friendly. Now let’s review the food. Overall, fair. My guest ordered sushi and the rice was average in appearance and no unique taste. The bento box is a good value @ $ 13.95 for 3 items but the portions were on the small size. A place to eat but not much more to review or rave about.

I’ve lived in the outer sunset for 10 yrs and cannot believe I’ve never tried this place. Came here with my friend on a Wednesday night and there was no wait for the two of us, but for a party of 4+ there were couple parties waiting. FOOD: Very affordable Japanese food compared to many places. What caught my eye the most were the customize-able dinner bentos(you can choose 3 meats if you want!), dinner combos and the grilled fishes. All of these meals come with rice, miso, tea and ice cream. Price ranged from $ 10-$ 16. In addition to, meal combos they also serve tapas and sushi rolls, donburi and everything else a typical Japanese restaurant would serve. AMBIANCE: We actually got seated at the sushi island in front of the sushi chief, so that was kind of cool. There are also regular tables and 2 tables for on japanese style seating near the windows. I’m planning to take my family here next time and hopefully get one of those tables! :) SERVICE: Quick, friendly and knowledgeable. Will be back soon to try their other items and take my family here! :) UPDATE: Came back a second time and realized, the food quality isn’t actually that great. I ordered the Hawaiian Butterfly Fish and my mom ordered the salmon plate and they both it tasted old and not very fresh.

So. Much. Food! You want some sushi rolls with names like 49er, Lion King and Philadelphia — this is the place to go. The bento boxes come with a huge amount of food(note: I’m usually in the Mission eating bentos the size of Blowfish Sushi). I had the three item with teriyaki salmon, beef teriyaki and sake sashimi. It came with a full bowl of white rice and salad. Salmon was nicely cooked and they didn’t over do it with the teriyaki. The sashimi were big cuts. Beef was good and not chewy at all. something i come across quite often at similar Japanese restaurants. Finished it off with green tea ice cream for dessert. It wasn’t the bright green and super artificial green tea flavor either — they had the right stuff in stock! This isn’t the restaurant for an authentic sushi experience but just a filling and good meal. Would definitely come back.

Came here with the boyfriend around 5:30 on a Friday night. Place was not packed yet and there were a group of 5 people waiting in front of us. The staff didn’t notice us because I assume that they though we were part of the group in front of us. One waitress finally walked over and asked us how many were in our party. We were then promptly directed to the bar for our seats. I like sitting at the bar because I get to watch all of the action in how the chef prepares the sushi. Also it kills time when waiting for the food to come! It got super busy and the waitresses were constantly telling the chef that numerous tables were complaining that the sushi was taking too long. Not once did the chef complain! He kept on cranking out those rolls like a sushi making machine! As it got busier, I’m glad I chose to sit at the bar because it was like free entertainment as I got to watch the waitresses go back and forth, talking about their own drama and communicating with the chef on which rolls go to which table. There was one instance where one waitress brought back a roll that the sushi chef made wrong and the sushi chef said told the waitress to let the table keep the sushi as he prepared the correct roll for them. How nice! The boyfriend and I both ended up ordering the 16 piece sashimi combo which was priced at 18.95. It also came miso soup, rice, and ice cream at the end! Now you would think at that price that the quality of the fish would be questionable… It was actually pretty fresh! The sashimi were 4 slices each of salmon, red tuna, white tuna, hamachi. The chef threw in an extra four slices of halibut free of charge! Presentation was very pretty! In addition to that, he also gave us a small plate of tuna poke while we waited for our sashimi combo to arrive. The sashimi itself weren’t very big pieces but with 20 slices to eat, I was definitely not complaining and was full for sure at the end of my meal. Will definitely be back to try this place again!

INLOVE with this place!!! Almost don’t want to write a review so I don’t add to the customers they get because ALLTHEYNEEDAREMEANDMYFRANZ. Jk they deserve all the customers because they are SO good at what they do. Free edamame appetizer per table, huge slices of fish on their nigiri(highly recommend… all of the fish), and great staff. Constantly filled up our teacups and water cups, didn’t make us wait long for the check or for ordering, which I really appreciated, and generally high spirits that really made our experience great. It’s a small place so try not to come here with a huge group, but it’s great for date night and small group dinners. Everyone will leave so satisfied! Also, their green tea ice cream is TODIEFOR. So def get the bento box(great value for your $) and enjoy the wonderful green tea ice cream.

Tazaki Sushi can be really good If you order the right things! The first time I came here with my sister, I ordered some really boring standard stuff and was not impressed. I refused to give up because of the great ratings. I looked at the table next to us and they ordered some really cool items; so I made it a mission to come back again to try the cool adventurous stuff! 2nd time did not disappoint! The N-Judah Roll listed on the white board has spicy salmon on the inside with ripe avocado, Hamachi on the outside, wrapped in a thin soy wrapper, and topped with black tobiko. So delicious! The Swamp Roll was also really good with spicy tuna and avocado on the outside and seaweed salad on top. Really yummy!!! My boyfriend and I were very adventurous and tried the Eclipse Sushi with tuna, raw quail egg, orange and black tobiko, and The Spoon with raw oyster, uni, raw quail egg, and spring onions. I don’t know what to make of it, I like each individual raw ingredient, especially oysters, but so many raw things together was a little to much! Definitely tasted the fishiness. Note that they give you a huge chunk of wasabi and ginger with the first plate you order and the rest does not come with any. So set your chunk of wasabi aside for the rest of your orders, otherwise you’d have to ask for more. Ask for more ginger and use it as a palate cleanser between each type of sushi or sashimi! Everything tasted really fresh, the sashimi was of good quality. For a little more money, they have fish imported from Japan(Medai, Kamapchi, Shima Aji, Hinmedai, and Tai). Always check the white board for specials! I wish their menu had pictures.

Cute sushi restaurant in the outer sunset. Locals love this spot. They have a great sushi rolls, sashimi, and hot plates menu selection here. I’m all about the sizzling hot plates platters and fresh sashimi. Check out their specials on the white boards! I usually get the sashimi here. It’s pretty reasonable priced and they give good portions. The fish quality is decent, not super fresh or spectacular — still good though! I’m not a fan of the sides really — too much salad dressing, miso soup and ice cream is are standard. Service can be pretty slow here, especially when it’s a packed house. The waiters are pretty good for the most part. Great local sushi spot if you’re craving sushi in the outer sunset neighborhood!

$ 3.50 butterfish! I’m a fan! Came here around 5PM on Friday evening and the restaurant filled up fast. My friend and I wanted to keep it low budget, so we ordered 1 bento and a couple nigiri. The bento was decently priced with 3 items for $ 13.95. We got the saba, veggie tempura, and chicken karaage. The chicken karaage is a must! Something about the sauce makes it taste delicious. We were also impressed with the freshness of the salmon and butterfish. TLDR: good fresh food, decent prices and portions for bento, left happy Also, its a nice place to watch the warriors game.
