This is the first place I have ever had a sushi burrito and I loved it! This place is a small shop right in the corner of Kearny and Sacramento. Not a dine in place, more of a pick up your food and go somewhere else to eat it place. Really good service here, the cashier was cordial. As I am typing this review, I can not think of one negative aspect about this place. I enjoyed everything. Food doesn’t take too long to get so you can come by for your lunch break!

Love their crunchy shrimp tempera roll. It is fresh and delicious. One of my favorite places for lunch in financial district.

$ 10.00 will get you a complete package of good rice bowl, edamame and miso soup. I was on the way to show my friends around San Francisco when I saw this place literally empty with no long lines due to the rain. so I knew I had to get some. friendly staff, great value, as good as it gets. Go FireBowl !

Consistently fresh fish and quick and polite service. I’ve tried both the sushi roll and the bowls and like them both.

If you MUST have a sushi-burrito, skip the expensive rolls and long lines at Sushirrito and go to Sushi Taka instead. Does anyone else find Sushirrito a little bland? Taka is friendly but lightning fast(I was in and out in 5 minutes), flexible on subbing out ingredients… most importantly, their sushi burrito is really flavorful and filling and comes with free miso soup and edamame. The salmon roll($ 10) was filled with fresh salmon sashimi, and I liked the teriyaki sauce(subbed teri for wasabi mayo, subbed wasabi salmon for plain salmon). It also had a nice crunch with the tempura flakes and pickled radish. Would definitely return to try the unagi; the spicy tuna looked unappetizing to me. Like other sushi-burritos, this one falls apart and can be messy, but I still enjoyed it. Overall, go to Taka if you’re looking for a cheaper, tastier version of Sushirrito.

Good price, fast and courteous service, an actual lunch that makes you full for once. They didn’t skim on the fish either, which is what I like. Free miso & salad. Definitely my new favorite spot.

Delicious! I ordered the salmon poke bowl, and it came with a little tub of edamame and a little tub of miso soup. The salmon was thick, chunky and tasted fresh and buttery! I was very satisfied with the salmon! I would have liked it to have more sauce or flavor, as I found the overall bowl to be a little bland when I mixed everything.(They do give a packet of soy sauce and provide miso dressing at the corner before you exit!) Staff is friendly! The line can be long and discouraging during lunch hours, but it really goes quick. You order, you pay, you pick up your food and you leave. I hope to be back soon!

Finally I stopped by and have tried their sushi burrito! I have the feeling that two out of 3 – 4 guys working there use to work in sushirrito before. Bananaz!!! I liked the place and definitely will come back to try more of their items. For the first try I decided to get spicy tuna roll, an it was great! Seaweed salad was a it too much but it’s only my opinion, someone else might just love it! They’re really fast, ingredients are fresh, roll was stuffed with the fish, which is awesome but what really made me happy were prices! After sushirrito decided to go insane on their prices I was looking for some substitution, who’s prices won’t make me cry. Finally! That’s my new«craving fish mood» gem! Really curious to try their bowls! Yummmmzzzz

Had the fire bowl. For the price and quality, I’m definitely coming back. The salmon with the spicy tuna on the side tasted very fresh. It came with sea weed salad.

Sushi Taka isn’t your typical sushi spot because they specialize in rice bowls and sushi burritos. I’m an avid sushi lover but I do think that the sushi burritos at Sushirrito are a little overhyped. I also don’t think that Sushirrito tastes like real sushi… and Sushi Taka does a better job of fulfilling that craving. At Sushi Taka I ordered the Spicy Taka Roll which consists of salmon, spicy tuna, and imitation crab. It was a really yummy combo and definitely filling for ~$ 10 — I was full after half but ate the whole thing anyway. It also comes with green salad or miso soup. I like that they offer a brown rice option, and I eat lunch early so there was no wait.

Several people compare Sushi Taka to Sushirito… It’s a fair comparison. Menu doesn’t have as many options as Sushirito and isn’t as nice inside, but Taka is slightly better. They do a giant spicy tuna roll or bowl(with brown rice option). I’d go elsewhere if craving sushi, but am ok stopping in for a cheap protein and mayo filled bite. Also, free miso soup with purchase. Very friendly, provide decent quality at a great price. Plus they have spam musubi. Not my first choice for sushi but is okay.

Sushi Taka is one of the places you want to love. Friendly service, good concept, but the taste of the food only landed at average. On the menu are sushi burritos(similar to Sushirrito) and sushi bowls. All rolls and bowls come with complimentary salad and miso soup dispensed out of a cool little machine. Both were delicious and I especially liked the tempura crunchies in the miso soup. I ordered the crunchy shrimp tempura handroll($ 8.95). It’s stuffed with tempura shrimp, avocado, cucumber, crab salad, seaweed salad, tobiko, teriyaki sauce and rolled in tempura crunchies. I requested for them to leave the tobiko out. As I took my first couple bites into the roll, I was disappointed that the seaweed salad took over the entire roll. That’s all I tasted. Each bite was messy as the teriyaki sauce seemed to have thin out and dripped from the bottom. In comparison to Sushirrito, Sushi Taka’s sushi burritos are slightly smaller, but they’re also cheaper. Sushi Taka’s lines are much smaller and neither establishment has a seating area. WHATTOKNOW: *Limited hours. Open Monday through Fridays to cater to the working crowd. *Credit cards are accepted *They participate in the frequent buyer program, Five Stars

This spot is a little cheaper than the ever so popular Sushiritto. I tried the Sushi Taka Roll($ 8.95) and it was pretty darn good! Free miso soup and salad with any order. The miso soup is dispensed through a machine and their free salad is in the fridge for you to take. They have paper bags for you to put your food in by the condiments area. The roll ended falling apart while I was eating it and that made my lunch experience pretty messy… Regardless, I will definitely come back here again to try their other food items!

Sushi Taka is my go to sushi roll place for real quality ingredients where the seafood is the star and not the sauce like Sushiritto. When sushiritto first opened it was perfect, but after a few years, the ingredients changed when they filled it with lots of veggies and rice. The sushi here may not be as huge as Sushiritto, but you can taste the ingredients better without all that sauce. The ingredients are the star after all and shouLd stand out. Once I tried this place there was no looking back. :-) I ordered the Salmon roll and it came with free soup and salad which was nice. I don’t believe this is on the menu board in the store, but it is listed on their website. If you prefer quality over quantity, I would suggest this place for your sushi rolls. Besides eating too much starch is not good for you, so the size is just right for a burrito sushi. So if you don’t want your order, can I have it? It will be yummy in my tummy! :-).

I’ve been here twice and I have to say Sushi Taka is much better than Sushiritto. Their burrito sushi rolls are huge, reasonably priced($ 8.95), complementary miso soup included, and service is fast! Right after I placed my order and paid, my sushi burrito was ready! I highly recommend both the regular and spicy sushi taka rolls. Both included a good amount of fresh tuna, salmon, cucumber, avocado, seaweed salad, crab salad, and fish roe. The only difference is that the regular roll has wasabi mayo and the spicy roll has kimchi and spicy mayo. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the Chinatown area.

I prefer Sushi Taka over Sushiritto. The service is SO quick, I literally had my roll in a minute, and the nice guy behind the counter even offered complimentary miso soup. I ordered the sushi taka roll($ 8.95) with salmon, tuna, avocado, cucumber, egg, and seaweed salad inside. I ate half right away for lunch, and saved the other half for dinner. It was really good and tasted even better for dinner, hours later. I highly recommend this place. Get here before it closes at 4pm!

I’m so glad to have found this place. Yes it’s like Sushiritto but CHEAPER! Yay! Sadly there’s no seating area… Anyway, $ 8.75 for one big burrito with miso soup and salad! I got the spicy taka roll and it’s good! Taste fresh and I love the sweet egg in it. I love the salad dressing too! It’s surprisingly so good so I put some on my burrito hehe They definitely deserve my 5 star :)

Solid place to grab a quick lunch to go. It’s not particularly noticeable, so I would have never thought about dropping by if I hadn’t found it on Unilocal first. Otherwise, it just kind of blends in amongst the many small grab-and-go places in the area. The menu is pretty small, with a few rolls(aka sushi burritos), bowls and sides. If you check in on Unilocal, you can redeem a free salad and miso soup, but the rolls and bowls already come with both. They also accept Five Stars cards: 10 roll/bowl purchases gives you 1 free item under $ 10. Everything comes out to be about $ 10 with tax, so it’s essentially a free meal. The rolls are essentially Sushiritto at a cheaper price and smaller size. They’re still kind of pricey at $ 10, but it’s FiDi and salads will cost you that much. The size is not super filling but reasonable. Some think Sushi Taka is better, some think Sushiritto is better, but I’m pretty indifferent between the two. Sushi Taka, however, does roll the sushi burritos better in my opinion. They don’t fall apart while you’re eating them like Sushiritto’s do. The salad was very simple and fresh. The miso soup came out of a machine, which made me kind of skeptical, but it actually tasted just like any other typical miso soup. There was seaweed in it, but instead of the normal tofu, they had some sort of soggy rice puffs. Service is good here. The staff was very accommodating with my order. I asked for my roll without the wasabi mayo because I find sauces to overpower the real taste of sushi, and I got extra tamago instead of the crab salad. I think my order confused them though because they messed up the first time, but they immediately made a new roll for me, apologizing for the mistake. They make the rolls on the spot, but it’s very quick. ==================== I got: –SUSHITAKAROLL($ 8.95) — 4⁄5 [salmon, tuna, avocado, cucumber, seaweed salad, tobiko, crab salad, tamago, wasabi mayo] Solid roll/sushi burrito. Again, I omitted the crab salad and wassabi mayo so my roll was«lighter» and less creamy than the standard Sushi Taka Roll, and they also added yellow pickled radish. The tuna was a little off to me, but the salmon was pretty fresh and soft in texture. Overall, solid fish. Not the best I’ve had, but this isn’t a fancy sushi restaurant(or a restaurant at all for that matter), so I was satisfied with the quality. Some other Unilocalers have said that they’re very generous with the fish, but mine was just an average portion. I liked the slight sweetness from the seaweed salad, tamago and pickled radish, and I was really happy that they weren’t super heavy on the rice.

This is one of those places you kinda walk by and not notice, but notice. It’s a strange description but it works. It’s one of those places that doesn’t really catch your eye, but you see it because it’s on the corner of the busy block of Kearny for Fidi people looking for lunch. This place isn’t anything fancy on the inside at all. It looks small and dinky. The menu is straight forward. You can’t find it online, but I posted readable pictures. There’s nothing more that irks me than a place without an accessible online menu. I like to know what I’m in for before going to a place. I got the fire bowl because it had more ingredients and it was the same price as the dragon bowl. EXCEPT for the fact that I didn’t get any kimchi in my bowl, unless it was there and I didn’t see it or eat it. That was strange. The bowl looks super full, which is great, but it’s a little rice heavy. Regardless, it’s still a hearty meal. The fish tasted fresh, unlike some of the reviewers. Maybe I got there on a good day? With your bowl or roll, you get a salad and miso soup(if you choose to do so, they will ask if you want a free salad and soup — why wouldn’t you say yes?). The miso soup comes out of a machine, so it’s not the best but it’s free… so it’s decent. I’ll come back to try out the other bowls to see if there’s much of a difference… I don’t think there will be but at least it’s a easy way to get a hearty bowl of rice and fish.
