Terrible service. Uncomfortable atmosphere. Crazy people. The sandwich preparer had issues understanding English and didn’t even bother to try. That was the first sign everything was going to be a bad experience. The preparer’s attitude showed a complete lack of enthusiasm and customer service skills. Why is that person even there? I guess the location doesn’t help, who would want to work around there? But that person did. I guess that person needed the money to survive. Anyway, on the cashier I was flung the receipt without even being looked at, not even being told a single word of «here you are.» And note that it wasn’t busy at all. There were only three people at the tables. So after that I sat down to eat my sandwich, but guess what? Some crazy, very suspicious dudes got in and made the atmosphere much, much worse. After that, I was done: I just left the place with my partially eaten not-so-tasty sandwich. I swear I’ll never walk into this specific establishment ever again.

I give this subway four stars because the ladies that work here are sweethearts despite having to deal with a lot people who may or may not be customers who are either homeless or drug addicts, sometimes both. They always honor my subway app coupons. They are very pleasant and very professional despite the kinds of people that come in and try to get free drinks or just hang out at the tables. I come here several times a week. My favorite sandwiches here are the veggie delight, the Italian bmt and the spicy Italian. It’s a great place to eat for those on a budget. You can’t beat their six dollar meal deal with the sandwich, drink for $ 6.

Do not go there even if you are starving… I used to eat in many subway because of their fresh food and this idea that we can completely customize our sandwiches. Well I went there last time, I asked my favorite honey oat bread, and the guy just chose an another, he was kind of hesitating as if he didn’t understand english. I didn’t notice it so I just paid and came back to my office. What a sad surprise when I started eating that the bread was not the one I asked, and was strange like a bread baked 2 days ago. Do not go to this subway, really!

Horrible experience … I went unacknowledged for several minutes and when someone did finally take my order I still had to correct them every step of the way … They got the wrong size and the wrong bread … But what really upset me was when the woman making my order chose to put the OLDBROWN lettuce on my sandwhich instead of the FRESHGREEN lettuce sitting right next to it, disrespectful. So I had her make my sandwhich over because that was just nasty … Horrible staff, horrible service … Never eat here.

this is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a subway. I’m not really a sandwich person, so I rarely come to Subway. all I get is a basic sandwich and lettuce and tomatoe. this sandwich is just bland as. I couldn’t even finish it. my friend wanted chilli and the guy said soup. wtf? I asked for fritos and he gave me miscellaneous chips. the meatball sub my friend got was also horrible. it’s so gross. did even ask if she wanted cheese before he toasted the bread. the meatball sub doesn’t even have a lick of marinara. making it dry as hell. worst experience ever. THERESANADFORCHILLI. but the dude didn’t know what fucking chilli. they lack skills in the English language.

The service for this location was very poor and inadequate! The sandwich preparer had absolutely NO proficiency when it came to offering other kinds of bread or meat(s) when he announced he had run-out of my original choices. My final sandwich tasted horrible and the meat wasn’t cooked fully. I was very disappointed and didn’t want to bother the inefficient staff to recify this since they wouldn’t seem to know as to what to do. Then there’s the rest of the restaurant: Disgusting! The place is unkempt, dirty table tops littered with food, sticky seats, and full trash bins. And then there’s the unhygienic, OVER-POWERING smelly homeless who ruin your lunch with the nauseating stench that penetrates past what your senses can handle! It was a tremendous error on my part to even eat here since I was very hungry. Perhaps I should’ve withstood my hunger and gone to a better part of town, like the Castro or other places on Church Street than eat here! Never again!

This Subway is surprisingly decent for where it’s at. If you need to eat-in it often has seats available when there’s a line out the door at the BK and gyro place around the corner. They have the national $ 5 /$ 3 specials and the ladies in the afternoon are nicer than you’d expect given the area. If the smell of pee-pee outside isn’t too off-putting that particular day it’s an OK budget lunch option.

The lettuce was almost unrecognizable. All the vegetables were old and sad. And the bread was… ugh. This Subway is about 30 miles from«fresh».

Subway oh Subway. I have to give it up to these ladies that work here. It’s not easy dealing with the clientele in the area. That said, the ladies do a pretty good job of preparing my salads(I don’t eat the sandwiches) and for being microwave chicken they’re not bad. My issue is that some of the women that work here are pretty stingy about the toppings. When I ask for extra olives I don’t mean 7 instead of 5. Maybe it’s a policy thing but still customer satisfaction first right?

I love their veggie delight with avocado! It is a taste bud and diet friendly choice! For bread choices, I love their Italian herb and cheese, definitely recommend trying~~

Wanted to go to the one near Powell st but it was too far and I was pretty hungry. So i settled for this one. I got the Italian bmt on honey oat bread. The bread looked like it wasnt baked nicely. I also noticed some of the veggies don’t look so good too. The staff was ok. But I could not stand how smelly it was. A lot of tables was dirty and the ones that are not dirty are smelly. I took my sandwich to go. I don’t recommend this subway. It’s in a gross neighborhood. The food was not even that good. I thought the sandwich got cold quickly –I’m not even sure if they toasted it. Go somewhere else. Unless you’re starving but you wouldn’t want to eat there anyways.

I come here often for lunch, or on the weekends when I’m downtown. Let’s face it: the location is convenient, but you have to deal with the street people, homeless, and downright thieves. The Filipino staff are very nice for what they have to deal with, and a few know my order and what kind of bread I want before I even open my mouth. I really like them and respect them, because it ain’t easy working a low-pay job for people who don’t respect you in the middle of a dicey neighborhood. There are always specials here, like most of the other Subway’s franchises. It’s a good sandwich for the price, and it’s a good place to sit down and enjoy your meal when not too many homeless are inside or creating havoc outside. I’ve reported many thieves stealing from the drink cooler at this location, and I’m sure the staff has to put up with that daily. Overall, I like this place and tip them whenever I can for the foolishness and craziness of the people right outside the door.

Food and Price: It’s Subway. It’s consistent. Staff: They’re nice people. Location: It’s Civic Center area. It’s not bad, but keep your head up. Overall: A bummer they aren’t 24 hours anymore, leaving DNA Pizza on 10th at Harrison the only late late night food besides Mel’s Drive In near Mission and 4th.

Don’t know why this Subway has such low ratings, but the employees are very nice here. I came here to buy gift cards for my company’s employees picnic. They gave me coupons for free sandwiches because I bought a lot of gift cards. The food is similar to other Subways. I like ordering the turkey sandwich cause it’s one of the lowest calories option. I started to not put any mayo as it didn’t seem like it added much to the taste and it’s just extra calories. I think I lost some weight eating Subway instead of other fast food. Yay! It’s a good sandwich for the value. I haven’t eaten here before though as I always get it to go.

I’ve been to far better Subway restaurants/locations. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot entering this particular location, but I scolded myself for making judgments. Unfortunately, I guessed correctly. The service was underwhelming. The girl who took another customer’s order really didn’t seem to care about what he wanted. When it was my turn to get my usual 6-inch meatball marina for the week, she cut what was more like a 4-inch meatball marinara. As she continued with the other customer’s toppings, a homeless guy waltzes in with a cup that wasn’t a Subway cup. He fills it with a bit of ice and steals some soda. Although I feel badly for those who are in need, it bothered me that this employee watched as the man ran the Subway dry. I wonder how many others are privy to the free drinking fountain. I doubt management is fully aware of what is going on. When my meatball marina comes out of the toaster, I noticed that I hardly had any sauce on the sandwich at all. Luckily, I get a fair amount of toppings and was even allowed to have a few extra napkins. I talked to the girl about the discontinuation of the Tuesday 2.99 special. I left the place wondering why I paid too much for my 4-inch meatball ½ marinara(should have gotten the foot-long) when I could have just asked the homeless man to go behind the counter and make me a free sandwich.

Yay for being open 24 hours… was dying for food at 3:00AM after a heavy night of drinking… luckily this place was just down the street from where we were staying for the evening. Yay to Jeffrey who treated us right. Minus 2 stars for being Subway.

I want to give 3.5 stars because I am never a fan of sandwiches but my experience is more than a mere OK. I don’t normally know what I want and the only thing I tried and liked was meatball sandwiches! I didn’t know what else to put in it coz it has sauce already so I asked for red onions and some black olives I believe… before I made that decision I asked the server what can I get and he gave me a big smile knowing I am «new» and said«everything» with his hand gesture showing everything in front of us… lol. me overwhelmed but it was fun coz I ordered the 12 inch one and was so full and fell into a food coma for the rest of the work day. I fell asleep on my way in BART. I barely made it home driving and I didn’t have to eat for the rest of the evening… this is a record people!!! But I will not do that again: p

If i can give it negative stars i would. Yesterday, I went here right before my meeting. I ordered a tuna sandwich, with wheat bread, olives, tomatoes, and pickles. I took my meal to work and as i unwrapped it i saw a FLY crawling on it. and i get worse… i took my maggot infested sandwich back for a refund and the guy working there REFUSES to give me my money back. He said if i wasnt going to buy anything. then i should leave the store immediately. then i explained to him that I haven’t taken a single bite out of the sandwich and that there were maggots in it. he continued to raise his voice… then i asked him for his managers name and number. he REFUSED to give it to me. and said THATINFORMATIONISIRRELEVANT

— The floors are sticky — The tables and chairs are sticky — The employees are severely bored and have difficulty with the registers — The soda machine doesn’t have any CO2 in it — The customers have really *really* bad BO Lesson learned: skip the fountain soda and get your sammich to go. Better yet, choose any of the 186 other sandwich shops within a half mile of here:
