Stompy Jones

The best small swing band I have heard in my life. Big sound and wide variety of swing dancer-​friendly music are coupled with quite friendly attitude towards listeners. Watching their performance when not dancing was also a pure delight.

Great swing band! My husband and two of our friends went dancing at the Top of the Mark recently. These guys were playing live, and they really made it fun!

These guys are awesome. One of my favorite bands (of all time) AND i get to go see them every week at either the Verdi Club (Tuesdays) or The Top of the Mark (Thursdays).
They’ve got a smooth, jump swing sound that just can’t be matched. Their fast songs rock the house, and their slow jams are smooth as silk. Love dancing to these guys at any tempo.
Oh, and they dress the part… looks like their straight out of the 50’s, and always have fantastic stage presence. Good times.

In my opinion, Stompy Jones is the best live swing band in the SF Bay Area-​maybe in all of CA. These men are insanely talented, charming and professional, and they dress to kill.
We hired Stompy Jones to play for our garden wedding reception in July 2008, and they swung the candlelit evening into a whole new level of amazing. They were on time, organized, sweet and accommodating, and even let us use their sound equipment to sing to each other (we’re both musicians, too). The dance floor was never empty, the music was fantastic, and by the end of the night my husband and I wanted to marry every single one of them.
Our wedding guests are still raving about Stompy Jones a year later, and if we were flush with cash we’d throw a party for our first anniversary (and every anniversary to come) and have them back again. That’ll only happen in our dreams, but we can still get our fix by catching them at the Verdi Club, Top of the Mark, and Disneyland’s Carnation Plaza. It’s almost as good, and it brings back memories of the very best day of our lives.
