When I first moved here, I conducted a search for the best hamburger. Sparky’s was in contention as a leader. Recently, I returned with friends in tow to experience a good burger. My burger might as well have been a cardboard cut out and my friend’s burgers were of equal dried out quality. The food and service was so bad that we simply left.

I ordered over $ 30 worth of food for delivery at midnight. I was given an estimate of 45 min to 1 hour for arrival. Sounds fine to me. Well, after almost two hours, I call Sparky’s & they tell me the delivery driver couldn’t find the address so he went back to the diner and now he’ll be by to deliver my food in 15 minutes. I waited ANOTHER hour and the delivery guy actually has the gall to knock on my door to deliver my cold, soggy food. I turned him away. Up yours, Sparky’s. Get your act together.

Stumbled on this joint after a night out on the town with a desperate 2:30am munchies kick Can’t help but have been disappointed by the diner joint. Naturally it was late at night and people were coming through post-drinking so it was recently packed, but we waited over 35 minutes for our food while other tables got served before us :( Additionally, the omelette I ordered was overcooked and the filling wasn’t well distributed. Just a chunk of avocado in the center and… Not much else going on. The eggs itself were dry and bland so had to douse that baby in sriracha Moral of the story – don’t be shy to ask for hot sauce

I was crushed when they lost their lease and permanently closed. Sparky’s had that comfortable diner feel, with GREAT customer service. Perfect for a quick bite or late night snack. I particularly loved the meatloaf sandwich, which was just delicious. It was so huge I had to take half of it home. The apple pie shake was also amazing, as was the rootbeer float. If you are one of the Parvenu types(recently monied, but without the class) then this place is NOT for you. It is what it is, a neighborhood diner that has been in business for many, many years, and does not even try to compete with the precious high priced recent venues that’ll close the minute FaceGoo lays anyone off.

While I like the servers and the atmosphere here, I doubt I’ll ever go back. The food is barely average(horrible fries and leathery burger but decent salad) and it turns out there’s a health warning? Not surprised. Near the end of our meal, a cockroach landed on my neck and slid down into my shirt. I may never get over the feeling of my skin crawling. For god’s sake, clean this place up or condemn it!

This joint used to be decent for breakfast, burgers, fries and shakes. At the recommendation of a friend we ordered the Eggs Benedict. She swore it was the best in town. Another friend ordered pancakes. After close to 35 mins, our food came out cold. Everything was cold. The eggs were not runny, yolk had already harden. The sauce had already solidified. It was clear the food had been sitting in the kitchen for awhile before it was served to us. The restaurant was not busy. There were only 2 other tables occupied. I will not be back… ever!

So I won’t complain about the subpar food, because it’s a diner and you don’t expect good food at a diner. I won’t complain about the service because it’s a diner and you don’t expect good service. What I am going to complain about is being accused of dining and dashing… I left my money on the table($ 40 for two separate bills 19 and 12). After I left I was informed by my friends that the waiter didn’t see my money and started to accuse me of dining and dashing… Once he went over to the table he saw the money folded in the tickets he realized he had made a scene for no good reason. I will never go back to a restaurant where my character as a person is called into question. To demand that one of my friends cover for me because your waiter didn’t actually check to see if the bill had been paid is completely uncalled for and unprofessional.

This place is disgusting. If it’s that late, go to the 24⁄7 Safeway nearby. It will save you a painful night of food poisoning, and honestly any frozen food would be better. I live right near by, and have been here several times out of convenience when it is very late, but will never be returning. The food is consistently low quality and greasy. Sometimes even undercooked. Recently, they even received a health score that is in the BOTTOM5PERCENT. TLDR; This place serves filth. Avoid at all costs

I have only ordered Sparkys for delivery. It was very good both times. We ordered fries, turkey burger and the grilled cheese. Everything was cooked very well and very hot.

Dear Sparky’s, As a resident late night worker, you have never failed to feed me in the middle of the night when the thought of going to a 24hr Safeway and making food on my own is a daunting and monumental task that could put me to sleep before it ever begins. As a resident pregnant human, you continue to feed me in the middle of the night now when I am routinely exhausted and desperately trying to sneak some food in between vomiting out my facehole. Your food manages to sneak past the unholy stomach borders where my unborn child graciously lets me digest it. Wild stuff. Wild. Unlike this kid, you’ve never made me puke. I have eaten the following things from Sparky’s with no problems: –Buffalo Wings –Disco Fries –Tuna Sandwiches –8 million shakes It’s diner food. It’s middle-of-the-night food. It’s «Omg I’m so stoned» food. It’s «if I don’t stuff my facehole I won’t sleep» food. It’s pregnant food. It’s salt. Expect no more, expect no less — and you’ll be just fine. Your delivery guys always take an hour to get to me. But, your delivery guys always get to me in Potrero Hill, within the hour. I’ll take if for what it is. Keep on rockin’ in the free world.

Worst food I’ve ever had and awful service: Ordered to go, said 30 mins. Waited 30 mins then left, sat in the restaurant waiting for our disgusting food sitting on the counter while the waiters talked, only one table in the restaurant and they weren’t even helping them.

Dude I’ve been here several times. The food is pretty okay/decent, and I love the shakes here but. I’m waiting 45 minutes for a salad and it is not crowded. This is so not cool.

Ordered chilly cheese burger, sparky salad, fries and a shake. The waiter was nice and apologized for the wait for everything. The food took 45min to get to us. Asked for medium, the burger was way overcooked and the chilly was unbelievably spicy. The salad was good but they skimp on the chicken. Fries are frozen fries. The shake was really good and the only thing I had no complaints about.

RAWANDUNDERCOOKEDCHICKEN! I ordered the fiery chicken sandwich from Grub Hub, I took a few bites and quickly noticed how slimy and pink the chicken was. All I wanted was my money back. I waited over an hour for undercooked chicken, soggy fries, and a melted root beer float. I order food all the time and I really have no problem waiting for yummy food! Undercooked is unacceptable. The worst part is because I «took a few bites of the sandwich» already they couldn’t give me my money back! How else was I supposed to tell that the chicken was undercooked?! Honestly baffled by this whole experience. All I wanted was my money back.

heads up: soy oil in the fryer, so no onion rings or fries for me. But they cooked me up a fried egg sandwich in butter, mmmm, cheese, onions & tomato, exactly what I need at 1:30am after many beers. Service was slowish but so charming & helpful with my allergy, and hey it’s 1:30am, what do you want, always some entertaining patrons. Git yer burger-shakes-pie on! AND you can get breakfast any time! Next time, def getting breakie at 1am.

I have to say for a 24 hr dinner they are a life saver! I was stuck at Kaiser during the birth of our baby girl and this place delivered to us the late meals whenever fam would visit. We had the burgers, blta sandwich, fries, fruit and yogurt, mint mocha shake, berry shake. All really good… Almost everyday that we ordered something was missing or wrong, buy they were really cool about it and said they would honor it at the next order.

This was by far the worst restaurant I’ve ever come across. Not only did they serve me a stringy rotten avocado, it has been by far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Save yourself the money and the runs later and go someplace else.

It’s 4AM. You’re tired, hungry, and maybe a bit drunk. All the usual places are closed and won’t reopen until the sun rises. What do you do? This was my thought process before ordering from Sparky’s. I saw the field of negative reviews and rejected them because I wanted food more than self-respect. I really wish that I had not done this, because I honestly could have scrounged up a better meal from the liquor store down the street. The chicken tenders came with 15 – 20 pieces of fatty cut and no dipping sauce. They were tough and chewy; I honestly don’t know what part of the chicken I was eating. The mac and cheese was bland and way too small to justify the price. The milkshake was good. That being said, it’s hard to mess up milk and ice cream. I would avoid this place if you have any other alternative(which you do). I have never felt more of a sense of buyer’s remorse than at 5AM with my order from Sparky’s

This is what happens when it’s 3am and your stomach’s screaming for food. Sparky’s the perfect place to make bad decisions at. My stomach was on fire, the last shot of Jaeger did not sit well at all. This was all thanks to our kickass bartender at BlackBird( ), who managed to get us drunk as hell in a matter of 20mins. Our punishment for walking in at last call, lol. Back to Sparky’s… It’s open 24hrs and the portion sizes are massive. Perfect place to carb up and stuff yourself silly before passing out after a long night of partying. ‘Nuff said. CALIFORNIAOMELETTE($ 8.75) A 3 eggs omelette with melted cheddar cheese, crispy smoked bacon and guacamole. It’s served alongside a couple pieces of heavily buttered toast and a choice of either hash browns or home fries. — It seemed more of a scramble, with the way everything was folded/mixed into the eggs, but it was tasty. I ate some of the above omelette, but this heart-cloggging plate is my actual oder. Out of all the things there were to order, I wanted CORNEDBEEFHASH($ 8.75). — Served w/toast, 2 eggs and choice of either hash browns or home fries. — They didn’t ask me how I wanted my eggs. I guess I looked more scrambled than sunny-side-up to them that night… I ordered a side of hot sausage links and requested that they cook the $hit out of my corned beef hash, because I prefer it crispy. — They ran out of hot links and my corned beef was still a pile of oily mush. It’s all good, all that greasy food helped me immensely — woke up with no hangover! Woot!

Ordered delivery from here… Won’t be ordering again. The grub hub page states a $ 15 minimum for delivery with a $ 0.10 delivery fee. But on my receipt they charged $ 1 The food got here within an hour which is pretty good, but that wasn’t the issue. The food is. I ordered fettuccini carbonara with white sauce and it was VERY oily. The pasta could’ve been so much more delicious and enjoyable if it wasn’t swimming in oil… I had to chug water after to balance it out. They included a piece of bread which I used to soak up some of the sauce but there was so much of it… I would’ve needed maybe half a loaf to soak up all the excess oil. To meet the $ 15 minimum I ordered a cup of their soup which was like a minestrone… But it wasn’t good. It came in a small hot cup that’s usually used to tea and it didn’t feel like $ 3 worth. It didn’t taste good. It was bland and could’ve used a bit more pepper in my opinion. The food was alright but it’s definitely not my go to and I won’t be ordering from here again.

I don’t know why people are hating so much. This place is good. It’s not gourmet. It’s good diner food. I got cheesy curly fries, and huevos rancheros and my friend got a burger. The first two were delicious and the waitress did as I requested — serve the fries first. I don’t eat beef so don’t know how the burger tasted but was told it was good. And. It was definitely HUGE.
