A few foodie friends and I came here for a pop-up and we really loved the steam griddled burgers and the fries with cheese sauce. The burgers are made to order and are super delicious! Yum!

Here are my rankings of best basic burgers(no eggs, no fancy cheese, just delicious burgers): 1. Shake Shack(east coast mainly) 2. In-N-Out(west coast mainly) 3. Five Guys(throughout US) Sel’s Sliders I would put between Shake Shack and In-N-Out: 1. Shake Shack(NYC) 2. Sel’s Sliders(Pop up in SF) 3. In-N-Out(west coast mainly) 4. Five Guys(throughout US) The one thing that stands out to me is how incredibly soft and tasty the buns are. Apparently they’re imported from the East Coast. The place itself is definitely not a sit-down establishment so plan to get them to go, and get at least 2 sliders per person(if you get one, you’ll be headed back in line rigth as you finish it). They keep surprisingly well even the next day(I’d say about 75% as good). Just warm them up in a microwave with a wet paper towel and you’re good to go. You’re simply not going to get sliders of this quality on the West Coast, and I wish they were more than just an occasional pop-up.

The meat is made out of 100% all natural Angus beef, so it’s really tender and juicy. What makes these burgers stand out for me are the potato rolls that are used versus hamburger buns or Hawaiian rolls. The rolls are soft and not as sweet as Hawaiian rolls. The burger chef told me that the rolls he had to purchase them directly from the East Coast, since you can’t find them over here. If you are going to eat a slider, the melted cheese over fries can’t be missed either. They go so well together.

Best sliders ever! They are so juicy and just melt in your mouth. So flavorful and I just love the onions on top. This is a must try. Don’t forget to get the cheese fries too.

There’s no other kind of sliders like this place in town. Simple. Flavorful. Juicy. Literally melts in your mouth. You may think they’re small but they’re super filling. The meat is super tender and juicy. The buns remind me of Hawaiian dinner rolls so they’re soft and the way it’s prepared soaks up the grilled onion flavor but never gets soggy from the juices of the meat. And the cheese fries! Yummy fries drenched in homemade cheese sauce. No imitation but real cheese! I have cravings for this but they always pop back quite often so I can get my fix. You know you got some good sliders when your hands still smell like it after you wash it with soap. Loads of flavor! Go get yourself some real sliders!!!

Just so you know, these are NOT the mini burgers, charbroiled to hockey puck perfection… these are griddle steamed, juice coming out on the other side, want to control yourself just to have one but you can’t, and end up eating two, and wanting three, kind of yummy goodness. They are really THAT good, and all made with great ingredients, definitely NOT, low cal, but pure ingredients, like all natural Angus beef, and East coast potato buns(a little sweet but perfect with the burger), homemade cheese sauce, pickles, and of course caramelized onions, all steamed together in a perfect little, just right, burger. YUM! The burger chef does a pop up every so often at the Lucky Dog hot dog place, off Fillmore and when it’s slider weekend, I’m super psyched… the hotdogs on the other days are pretty tasty too though(just so you know) Hope he opens up a place soon!
