I was surprised to see that the dogs here were totally average after seeing the high rating and stepping in. They’re open super late on Friday and Saturday nights, and I guess this is what influences the rating. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with the dogs at all — they’re perfectly decent — but while you’re sober, they merit 3 stars at the most. They’ll probably taste like 4 stars if you’re hungry and a bit buzzed, and if you’re completely trashed at the end of a night out, they might possibly taste like 5. Alas, I’ll let my sober judgments prevail.

Went here while on vacation & really enjoyed it. Good, quality hot dogs. I wish we would have been able to try the chill dog, but chili wasn’t ready.

Don is the one behind the counter who does it all. Today, I ordered the Bacon Cheese Dog with no bun and an order of onion ring. Instead of a hot dog bun, Don suggested placing the hot dog on sauerkraut. With that, I had all the sides loaded on… ketchup, mustard, onion, and jalapenos. A good tasting hot dog at a reasonable price.

Solid dogs. I had the Chicago dog and it was pretty good. Not the best I’ve had but definitely high quality dog and authentic toppings. Well priced as well. I didn’t love the smell of fryer oil permeating through the place so I’m bumping down to 3 stars.

Came here last night after going out. Wanted something other than pizza for once late night. OMG this place hit the spot. So yummy. I had a chili cheese dog and my boyfriend had a Chicago dog. We will definitely be back. Super fast and friendly service and the hot dog was easy to eat while walking home. Whenever we come back to the Marina we will come here.

Not crazy about the food here and not exactly cheap either. The size and juiciness of the dogs didn’t blow my mind and, frankly, the fries were not good in any way besides the ketchup I doused all over to salvage them. It’s a no frills kind of spot so you gotta hope for good quality food at a cheap price, but this place has neither, in my opinion

These motherf***ers ruined my SF clubbing experience! The best part of partying in SF for me was always hitting up one of the pizza joints drunk after the club. Now I’m stuck, and knowing my fat *ss, I’ll probably come eat here first, then pick up a few slices of pizza to eat on the drive home(relax, my dd will be driving, not me). Their Spicy Fries(3 stars) are good, but I don’t like seasoning on my fries at all(not even salt), so my go-to order right now is the best f***ing Chili Cheese Dog(5 stars) I’ve ever had and some of their regular French Fries(4 stars). There are a few other hot dogs on their menu that I’ve gotta try though, so I’ll be back… often.

Everything is good at lucky dogs – you can’t go wrong. Their hotdogs are out of this world, but as I write this I am eating one I the top 5 sandwiches of my life. It’s called the bomb chicken sandwich(or something like that) and it is amazing! It’s the perfect combination of flavors and textures. On top of truly spectacular food, the owner is great– he is a super down to earth nice guy and a pleasure to chat with. This is the best and an affordable place eat in the marina.

Came here at an event after Fort Mason. Weird they open at 10PM, I understand why but 9PM should suffice for the hungry drunk people right?! Anyways, I’m not too big of a fan of spending $ 5+ on hot dogs, If I ever have a hot dog craving, a local BBQ or Costco can satisfy that craving for me. The food was good, but I can’t justify the price for something I can chow down in 1 minute. I’m hardly ever in SF and there are A LOT of options, but I guess if I’m ever back in the area for an event at Fort Mason, I’ll be back.

Hype, $ 4 for hot dogs? Please. I was kinda drunk and it still tasted whatevers. Normally I’d think anything is good after a night of heavy drinking. Guess not. No lie, I think the hot dogs at costco is better tasting, and way better value. Service was whatevers too. There’s a bunch of staff either standing around or just doing nothing. Line of drunk/hungry people waiting to get some of those expensive hot dogs. I swear it must have taken 15 minutes to get the hot dogs. It’s hot dogs, why does it take so long? Outrageous. Shoulda went back to the hotel and get some pizza at one of the shop nearby. They probably coulda baked a whole pizza faster. Real talk.

Cool guys selling great hot dogs. I stop in here at lunch when I’m in the area and I can get parking. Let me just say, I love a good hot dog. You can tell me all you want about what’s in them, why I shouldn’t eat them, and all that stuff. Not going to stop me… At Lucky Dogs I’m going to have a nice conversation with the guy behind the counter and a great quality dog. I will always be back when I get the urge… Well done guys.

Best way to end a night of debauchery around here. The hot dogs here are beyond great the TOKYODOG is probably my favorite one… that taste of teriyaki with some sea weed and their mayomix is brilliant. Also the Chicago DOG!!! is the BOMB!!! I’m really bad with names but the dude that is always there behind the counter is very helpful recommending me some new hot-dogs from their vast menu list. I love this place, 5 stars all the way

I just saw that there’s a listing for the Lucky Dogs Truck so I moved my post for Lucky Dogs to here: The Lucky Dogs Truck came by work today, and I couldn’t turn away because hot dogs happen to be one of my biggest guilty pleasures. Oddly enough, I didn’t end up getting a hot dog. I had trouble deciding between the Giant’s Dog(bratwurst, grilled onions, peppers, and bacon) and the 16 hour smoked chicken sandwich with cole slaw. 16 hours sounds awfully long for chicken. From my experience, a 5lb. bird usually is done in about 4 – 5 hours, so I was kind of worried it’d be dried out. When I told the nice cashier about my dilemma, she immediately replied to go with the chicken and that she had just eaten it. That’s good enough for me. The sandwich was generously filled with chunks of chicken. To my surprise, it was juicy and tender, but most importantly, it was smoky! The rub they use didn’t taste like a sweet conventional rub, but it was well spiced and seasoned. I could definitely taste hints of cloves and coriander. When paired with the smoke, it almost was like unbrined chicken pastrami. I was glad that it wasn’t completely doused in tangy BBQ sauce and that the coleslaw was pretty mild. The sandwich let the flavor of the chicken shine. If I had to complain about something, I would say that the bread was not the best quality. It was like one of those mealy supermarket sesame seed hot dog buns, but at least they toasted it on the grill. There’s really not much else you can do to make those things taste better. Regardless, it was still a good, tasty chicken sandwich.

With all the reviews I was expecting THE best dogs I have ever had Well not that But great for the $ That garlic mix is killer tho! You had better be a garlic lover or at least someone who can REALLY appreciate garlic. The cheddar bacon fries were great. Fresh cheddar as well as the bacon, thus 4 stars! Wife is thinking she should of gotten the stoner dog. :P
