San Francisco State University Gymnasium

I come here weekly for intramural basketball. The large gym (Gym 100) looks amazing after this year’s earlier renovations. The hardwood flooring is sleek and shiny, but someone messed up badly when they were painting the floor because the basket is pushed forwards about a foot. The smaller gym (Gym 147) has an often dirty court, making running a slippery affair. Be sure to clean your shoes beforehand.
The intramural staff tend to be lazy and careless. The scorekeepers tend to mess up the scoreboard, and I’ve had to ask them to correct the score several times before. Make sure you or someone else is keeping track of the score because the scorekeepers are rather unreliable. This season, they even marked one of our games as a loss when we actually won, and they refused to correct the score. Though our record says we’re 6 – 1, we actually have an undefeated season.
The refs never call anything except when the ball goes out of bounds. I’ve seen terrible players get away with the most blatant and dangerous fouls.
As for the bathrooms, the women’s bathroom is surprisingly messier than the men’s for some reason. I know this because I had to use the men’s bathroom once while my boyfriend kept watch for me.
This is a nice gym overall. Too bad I can’t give much praise for the intramural staff.

I have to pay an EXTRA fee to use the gym and the weight room?
As if tuition wasn’t bad enough already! Locker room is filthy too!

I come here for lots of things. There is a weight room, a free pool and basketball courts. Yes, we do have a gym… I can’t see why so many people are surprised. We are a real college after all.
