Strolled into this shop and saw a lovely blouse I purchased last year in Hermosa Beach, near LA. Shocked to see that I had paid DOUBLE the price they were charging here. Lovely indian textiles and absolutely fair prices. Will shop here first from now on!

Was having a little ‘Adventure on Union St.’ with a friend when we passed by this place. What caught my eye was their collection of elephant statues. I bought myself one! It is a small wooden one painted yellow and with other decorative markings. I didn’t notice till later but on the bottom of these small elephant statues are one or two words of what that statue represents — — mine said wisdom and wealth! :] I also bought two small decorated round boxes that when opened, there are boxes inside and a ring. I LOVE the ring! It’s a pretty big bold ring, there’s a line of red tiles going through it’s center and on top and bottom of that line are small teal/aqua blue circles. This place is REALLYSMALL. They had just received a new shipping when I came so it was even more crowded but i was totally fine with it — — I was still able to get around. Their wares are really cool and pretty, most likely from Southeast Asia. Also, the people working there were friendly . Check it out!

these are the kind of shops that disappeared after the late 70’s…this is so nice to be able to shop for indian and tibetan cloth. and jewelry without wading thru a bunch of teeny bopper plastic stuffffff and garage sale riff raff… they also called their other store in the haight for a size for me and put it on hold. thanks

I just learned that the merchandisers from Ambiance bought a shitload of bracelets from Samsara, and put a 300% mark-up on them. I really hate Union St. sometimes.
